This is the return leg of my quick business trip.

Drove one hour down to the portland "jetport" as the call it. As we were driving in to the airport saw a US F100 landing (it was beautiful, as it was a little misty and the vapor was riding over the wings). I knew this was my plane because PWM is so small and there were no other planes there.

I go through this airport often and have noticed something interesting about security there. EVERY time I walk through the metal detectors with my belt on it goes off. This is only at this airport. I have flow at least 10 times this year including to Europe, and it only happens at portland. Anyway, to avoid all the hassle, i slipped into the bathroom and took of my belt and put it in my bag before I went into security and then went back and put it on again after. Just a curious little thing.

Go to the gate and my F100 was waiting there. Again, just as the flight up from Philly, it was 100% full. Maine is a very popular destination during the summer. Pushback right on time and immediate takeoff. I was in 6C and was truly amazed how quiet the plane was. The woman next to me was shaking and very nervous. She said she was scared to fly and was going to throw up. I basically spent the entire flight calming her down and telling her how fun flying was. Needless to say, she didn't throw up because I distracted her (it was all in her head).

Landed early at Philly and it gave me a chance to walk around a bit. Many many many USAIRWAYS aircraft. 737-200,300,400, 757,767,a319,320,321,330, f100. I also saw 3 AA 727 all in a row, nice to see that.

Stopped at the same mall chinese for a quick bite and rushed off to my connecting gate for Albany. Return plane was a 737-300 in new colors but I did not get the reg. Plane was very empty with a number of deadheading pilots and FAs. The entire cabin crew was male and again they served only pre-poured cups of coke, diet and sprite only. Arrived ontime.

What can I say, after 4 USAirways flights, all were nice, all ontime or early.

In 1 week I am making another business trip ALB-DCA-LWB (that's greenbrier, west virginia) As far as I know there are no pictures or trip reports from/about LWB so I'll try and bring my digital camera.

Nice trip report.... About your belt issue. I have the same problem with a pair of shoes I wear. They seem to never make the metal detector go off at PHX, but at BDL always. It is funny because the only thing metal on them is the shoe lace buckles, I also had this problem at MHT but not PVD. I guess it is the machines sensativity issues. As for your next trip. Please bring your camera and take pictures of LWB. Some nice terminal shots and gate shots would be apreciated since I love seeing airports from around the USA.

About the all male flight attendant crews...I've flown transcon on a US Airways 757 before, and out of the 6 flight attendants staffed on the 757, all of them were men. I wonder if all male crews are a normal thing at US Airways? At United, there has always been atleast one woman flight attendant.
