Hi all this is my first tr.
Aircraft Registration: G-EZEZ
Aircraft Type: Airbus A319-111
Flight Number: EZY3119
ETD: 14:55
ATD 14:55
My journey begins in the Rochford area of Southend where I live. The purpose of this trip is to visit my parents who live in the Calahonda area of Malaga over Christmas and New Year.
My neighbour kindly took me to Southend to catch the local coach service to Stansted. We decided to leave Rochford at 9AM in order to miss people doing last minute shopping. The journey took twenty minutes as there was very little traffic. We wished each other well over the festive season.
After that I had a quick look in one of the local shopping centres and then proceeded to the bus station to board the coach. I found out the stand which the coach departs and waited. The coach arrived on time and I paid sixteen Pounds for the return ticket. The coach was very fairly full. Most of the passengers stayed on the coach all the way to STN with only a few boarding at Rayleigh and two leaving at Chelmsford and two boarding. The traffic was good and we arrived on time.
I then went into the terminal and checked the departure information board to see if I could check in as it was just under an hour before the time easyJet said check in opens in my flight confirmation. My Mum had said usually you can check in earlier and this proved to be the case. After queuing for around twenty minutes I checked in and was told was in boarding group A.
I then decided to have drink and a sandwich. I looked in Pret but I did not like what they had on offer so I went in WH Smith saw a sandwich I liked ,bottle of lemonade and the an edition of Autosport dated 27 December which I bought. The I ate sandwich and had some of the drink. I checked with a Customs Officer if I could go through with my drink he replied no so I finished off the drink and went through the checks.
I then went into tax free shopping area and bought some Clinique supplies for men products to leave at parents for next visit. I checked to see which gate flight my flight would be departing from but no gate had been assigned. Then a man from Sarbucks was offering a free samples of a Christmas version of latte which I enjoyed. I sat down and started to read one my magazines.
I checked the departure information board around an hour later and it changed to gate 1 which meant a trip on the monorail. After I arrived I then decided to visit toilet. I then decided to watch the aircraft and made a note of the registrations. I arrived at my gate a saw G-EZEZ just arriving at the stand nearest to my flights gate. I sat watched the aircraft being prepared for it's next sector. My flight was called with speedy boarding passengers boarding first. I sent my parents a text message to say the flight was departing on time and switched off mu mobile phone. Then a few minutes later group A for the flight was called and I went . Once my passport and boarding card were checked I made my way to the Airbus The stairs leading to from the gate to the ground were damp and slippy. I boarded and said good afternoon the cabin crew who looked smart in the formal uniforms. Being amongst the first passengers to board meant I was able get a window seat. I placed my bag and jacket in the overhead locker and sat in my seat. Initially I thought from the number of passengers I saw at the gate the flight would not be full however this proved not to be the case. I had a Dad and young daughter sat next to me.
The plane was pushed back on time and we taxied to the runway with an inbound Ryanair 737 giving way to us. Once on the runway the pilots wasted no time and we took off.
We climbed into the cloudy sky the captain asked the children to look out for Santa, that there might be some bumps as there was some cloud over Spain and we might land early as we had some tail winds . Once we had levelled off the cabin crew offered food and drinks. I bought a muffin an a cup of English tea. To pass the time I read the in flight magazine . Before we began our descent the Captain announced we would landing half an hour earlier than scheduled because of the tail winds.
I looked through the window as we began to descend and saw there was some cloud. As we went through some clouds the were some small bumps.
We landed at AGP and parked at a remote stand away near where some building work was taking place. We had to wait around ten minutes for a coach to take us to the terminal. Once we arrived at the terminal I was quickly cleared by Spanish Customs Official checking passports. I then made my way to luggage carousel for my suitcase. I switched on mobile phone and sent a text to my Dad who was meeting me. Being one of the passengers to check in meant my suitcase was one of the last to off loaded. I then met my Dad and went to his car .
I found STN to be a good airport and U2 to be very good. All the staff I spoke to at the check in desk , shops, Customs Officers and cabin were all very friendly and professional. Overall I would not hesitate to fly from STN or fly U2 again.

Quoting BA319-131 (Reply 4): Looks like you enjoyed your U2 experience, was this your first flight with them?
Yes, it was my first flight with them, my parents used them when they were viewing properties in Marbella area and when they came over to sign the legal paper work. Their experiences gave me a good idea of what to expect. It was also my Airbus nb flight and flight from STN.

Quoting BA319-131 (Reply 6): Do I assume you mean 1st Airbus A32X flight? - If so, how have you managed to miss flying one, they are everywhere these days!
I had previously bought flights from a local flight agent called Flightline nothing to do with the airline. The flights we were booked on were 757's.
