I got to the airport in Chattanooga around 11:30am for my to see my girlfriend that started with a 12:40pm flight to MEM, as I was orgionally supposed to fly CHA-MEM-MSP-STC. I check-in, breeze through secuirity and head to the gate. As soon as I get there, the gate agent makes a PA announcement offering a free roundtrip ticket for anyone willing to take a later flight. Turns out the flight was weight restricted and 9 bags had to be left behind in the end. Since my flights usually cost around 550$ I got up and offered to take a later flight as long as I could be confirmed through to STC that night. I was, but he asked me to wait until after this flight left so that he could close out this flight and escort a UM to their parent.
Once he gets everything taken care of, he comes back to me and explains that I have been rebooked on US to CLT and then from there on NW to MSP and STC. I just needed to go downstairs and recheck my bags with US.
Once I checked in with US and had my tickets through to STC, my mother, sister and I went out to grab a bite to eat since I had some time till my 3:54p flight to CLT.
Once I got back to CHA I was about to go through secuirity when I noticed my new boarding pass had the dreaded SSSS on it. YAY!!!! The people that TSA has at CHA are pretty friendly and it wasnt that bad. One of them got distracted by the engagement ring that I was going to give to my girlfriend.
The flight was my first on a prop in a long time and I had forgotten how loud they were. It wasn't too bad, I enjoyed the view I had as we went over the smokies. I had a family of three next who that if I hadnt talked to them, I would have guessed had never flown before. They were texting and taking pics the entire flight, from boarding to landing.
It went pretty smoothly and before I knew it, we were on the ground in CLT. Once we taxied to the gate, I had to make the long journey over to the NW gates. Once there, I checked with the agent to make sure that I was all set for this flight.
Since it was dark out, I was unable to get the Reg #'s for the remaining flights. Sorry.
Once I boarded, I noticed that I had a bulkhead seat on this DC-9. I was thrilled. The legroom was incredible and I had 2 1/2 windows. The takeoff on this tank was one of the most powerful I have experienced. on this leg I settled into my book and didn't really notice much from this flight. Soon, we were on the ground in MSP and I was off looking for my gate.
Now, I love connecting through MSP, it's easy to navigate and there is usually a decent selection of planes to spot. This time however, I took off for the atrium to get myself some caribou. Once I got back to my gate, we had about 20 min till boarding, so I took the time to make some phone calls and let some people know how the trip was going so far.
55 min of total flight time??? Lies I tell you!! Actually, we only spent about 14 min in the air, only going up to 4000 ft. It was by far the shortest flight I have ever been on. It seemed like as soon as we took off, we were landing again. After taxing for a short bit, we pulled up to STC. I was shocked by how small a 1 gate airport could be, my living room is the same size as the waiting area there. The baggage claim was also literally a hole in the wall. Nice airport though.
This is were things begin to get interesting. So, I see two bags that look just like mine, so I go to grab them, but each time they turn out to be someone elses. Go figure my bags didnt make it.
I talk to the gate agent and joke that I have a fun one for him, seeing as my baggage ticket was from US. He explains to me that one of my bags is in MSP, and the other one they have no idea where it is. He takes down our address and says that they will deliver them to my door.
Once the bags showed up the next night. I noticed that one of them had a rush tag from US and the other from NW.
The bags ended up taking these routings from CLT

NW 1697 CLT-MSP
NW 2761 MSP-STC
Another odd thing about this is that the bags never made it to STC. NW ended up shipping them to my in STC from MSP.
Overall it was a good trip if only because of the free round-trip ticket that I got out of it. Sorry about no pics guys, I'll change that on my next trip.

The times you see as a passenger are called marketing times or block times. They're not AIR time, therefore nobody is lying to you. There is time built into the schedule for taxiing and possible congestion on the ground.
