LAX-IAD-JFK-LAX MR: Great Day To Fly

This is not your typical "here's what I got to eat/ full can of soda" thread. Rather, it is a recap of the great karma I had today!

About a month ago, I book LAX-IAD-LAX. Confirmed upgrades to C, seat 9D both ways, using an expiring SWU and a soon to expire Regional. Same day roundtrip. $218

Check in on line both ways. Upon getting to the gate reader, I beeped. Somehow, I had been offloaded, and my seat was given away by a new agent. The gate agents were so apologetic. No more seats were available, and F was full. (The SD told me it would have been a no brainer to put me there). They were in the process of putting me in E+ when an aisle in C opened because of a no show! They printed a $100 voucher for the problem. I never asked for it, and I was pretty zen about the whole thing, The agents were thankful that I was not the type to go off the deep end!

Beautiful day to fly. Quick 3:34 hop.

Upon landing, I prepared to go to the RCC for a to wait when I saw that my return flight was cancelled.

I went to customer service, and they rebooked me in full Y on the 7pm IAD-LAX. No upgrades available. (Nothing nonstop or connecting). I did notice on my handheld that F was available JFK-LAX, but the agent would not do a double upgrade.

I then ran to the RCC and asked again, explaining that I need to use my computer during the flight, and that my Y seat would not provide that.

The agent did some tapping, and handed me IAD-JFK-LAX seats, 2A all the way!

Here’s the kicker: Upon arrival at the JFK gate, an agent is at the jetway calling my name. She says, “Mr. ZRS70, there’s a problem with your seat.” (I figure they wanted to downgrade me). No, it was the F concierge, and she explained that 2A was non-functioning,, and that I was reseated in 1A. She escorted me to the F lounge, where I am now.

So, in short, I got:

1) $100 travel voucher
2) Full Y IAD-JFK-LAX
3) F lounge at JFK
4) Concierge service
5) Op UP to F JFK-LAX

Again, a great day for a MR!

Whoa..Great day for you it must of been. I know I would probably shout atthem if they gave up my seat which I had booked in advance.

BTW,

When I talk about "full Y," what I mean to say is that I was rebooked into full fare Y, which earns 1.5 elite qualifying miles.
