Hello A.net members!
This is practically my first trip report on A.net after being a member for a year so I thought I would give it a try.
I wanted to use my AA Advantage Award Ticket to go to Michigan and visit family. My trip started on October 6 and I returned on October 13.
When I got to TUS, the counter appeared to be empty except for a couple travelers and AA employees. I checked in with the AA Self Service Check-in. The lady at the counter offered me to upgrade to first class for $45 on the ORD-DTW leg but I turned it down for obvious reasons. I then proceeded to my gate which was Gate 25 on the East Concourse. Since the TUS concourses are under renovation, I decided to not take any pictures in Tucson.
In no time, my flight began to board and I was in Group 5 so I wouldn't be called for a while. Boarding went fast and I was in my seat in no time. We departed on time at 12:40 and the nice sound of the engines was welcoming. Here are some pics from that flight as well as my layover in Chicago/O'Hare (I arrived at Gate H17):

Well, boarding started for my flight to DTW so I had to return to Gate H13 to board yet another MD-80. Boarding went smoothly as usual and it was time to say goodbye to ORD.
When I pulled out my camera, I was immediately confronted by the purser who said that I couldn't use my camera for some reason that I don't remember. No worries, I just whipped it back out when she went away and snatched some nice pictures. I noticed that my window was a little dirty so some pictures my have been affected.

Overall, the short hop to DTW was nice and, except for the camera, there were no other problems. We arrived at the Smith Terminal and I grabbed my luggage and was off on my way to Lansing after my relatives picked me up.
October 13, 2007-
I woke up and got ready for my flight back home. I enjoyed my stay in Michigan (as always) and was ready to head back home.
The lines for AA at the Smith Terminal were short and Check-in was a breeze. I got my bags checked and headed towards Concourse B. My flight was scheduled to leave out of gate B8 so I went and sat down and had a cup of Starbucks coffee.
Boarding began right on time and everyone got on quickly. The plane was chuck full since the earlier flight to DFW was cancelled. This flight was uneventful and really miserable since I had a guy behind me with his six kids and they screamed, and kicked my seat all flight long. The nice gesture from the flight attendant was that they gave out little candies to the children (Do they really need anymore sugar?). Besides that, it went well like normal. Here are some pictures at DTW:

We arrived at Gate C22. My layover was nearly 6 hours and 30 minutes so I had ample time to go visit every square inch of DFW so lots of pictures are coming.

Boarding for my flight back to TUS began at gate A35. I was exhausted since I had walked around DFW for hours and was ready to head home.
Boarding was as usual and again, another MD-80. The flight went smoothly and the flight attendants were some of the best I have seen on AA. It was a DFW/MIA mixed crew.
Overall, AA gets the job done in a timely matter and has some good employees, so I would say that AA gets an A for this trip. Nicely done AA and I would be glad to fly with you again!

BTW, I hope I didn't get any aircraft types wrong...

Hey really good TR!
How was the "other" terminal in DTW? I've only ever flown through the McNamara Terminal in DTW?
Switch those middle numbers on the AA and BA and you got it....
Sorry but that's a 767-300. AA uses the 777 from DFW to LGW, FRA, NRT. Otherwise I enjoyed the pics at 2 of AA's hubs, ORD and DFW. That Skytrain does give you a good view of DFW. I always like to ride it when I'm there.

Quoting CO777ER (Reply 3): Looks like a 772 as the jetway is at 2L.

Thanks for letting me know, I seem to have troubles telling the difference between a 767 and 777 for some reason.
Some other easy ways to identify the differences are:
If you are looking at the main landing gear from the side, there are 3 wheels on a 777 and 2 on all 767's.
The 777 has a different style tail cone than the 767's.
Also, the door styles
