This is my first trip report, please let me know how to improve it, thanks
Off on holiday to Florida for some winter sunshine.
Decided to take the train to Gatwick airport, just 25mins and straight at the terminal, no fuss about parking, first time I tried it and it worked well, set off at 9.00am so the rush hour had all but finished.
Note the carriage has power sockets.
Check-in I had done at home and as I only carry one small bag I went straight through security in about 10mins.
This was a mid week flight and the terminal was not very busy.
There was a lottery for a new sports car, JUST £25 a ticket, but if I won the insurance would kill me.Headed off to the Club Lounge.
Only about 50% full, lots of nibbles and some very good coffee available. Also the lounge offers great views of the runway and stands, about 45 minute before take off I made my way to the gate.Boarding was quick and simple and I found my seat.
BA use a B777 with three classes on this route, Club,WTP & WT, Club was about half full while the rest of the plan was about 90% full. I was greeted at my seat quickly by a young stewardess my coat taken and drink and newspaper offered. The gate closed on time and we taxied out and soon took off towards the west and the Florida sunshine.
After take off drinks & the menu were pass around, all very relaxed not a hurried service.
Some ery good selections.
Everything looked good on the menu.
My friend told me that BA had recently improved the quality of the food in Club and I was in for a treat. he was right.
The prawns were excellent a fresh sweet taste and the bread rolls were great.
What a wonderful chicken curry this was, full of flavour, best I have ever had on a plane.
Wonderful chocolate pudding, 5 Stars.
After the meal service if you are still hungry you have have a great number of snacks to pick from, a quick trip to the bathroom and back at my seat my wine glass had been replaced with a clean one and recharged, great service.I was full so settled back to watch a movie,
No AVOD yet on this service, that will come with the refit later in the year. No looking forward to that so much, I think the new colours are far to white, like the browns and blue.
After the movie finished I checked the map.
Then had a look out the window.
Very COLD.
Watched another movie and soon it was time for afternoon tea.
Wonderful grub, fresh and hit the spot just right.
BA turn off the map about 45minutes before landing so no arrival pictures, now important information for those of you arriving at Orlando, BA and Virgin can often arrive at the same time,ie one behind the other and they use the same pier but opposite gates. This can result in a rugby scrum as you head towards the immigration desk. I have seen this happen, as the BA passengers turn the corner of the corridor they see the Virgin passengers and both sides suddenly realise whats happening and the pace quickens, quite funny to watch.
As I travel with just hand luggage I am soon out of the airport and into the rental car and off.
This time the rental car was a free upgrade.
Went like a dream.
Check-in to the apartment I had rented and then out for the evening meal.
After a long day a gentle sunset and Zzzzzzz !
Next morning it was time to be a kid again, off to the theme parks and lots of fun.
Lots of friends to be made here.
That was a scream.
Hello you.
Must start that diet.
Big Boys Toys.
That was fun.
Like any holiday it was over too soon, have to wait 3 months before the next one.
Hope you enjoyed and thanks for looking.
you don't get a second chance to make a first impression!

Wow! I didn't think Gatwick was such a nice airport. Great pictures of Disney World, and Club World! The food looks great. Did you help yourself to the Club Kitchen?
Right now there is an AA MD-80 flying over my house.

Nice, brief trip report.
I recently flew LHR-AUH-LHR on BA, and as we deplaned at AUH using 1L I got to see both C and J on the 777. I have to say that I was surprised at how cluttered both of those cabins looked. I always expected them to be cosy-looking and smart, but I have to say that things looked really "flimsy", especially those fan-shaped things used to seperate you from your neighbour!
But maybe I'm just showing my jealous streak...one day I'll fly in something other than Y!!
Thanks for the report.
Andy.
Ladies & gentlemen this is Captain Tobias Wilcock welcoming you aboard Coconut Airways flight 372 to Bridgetown Barb

Nice report. LGW-MCO was one of my first Transatlantic flights some time in the early 90s, when I was a child. BA was still using their 742s back then.... Oh, memories...

Nice TR and pics .... love the Afternoon Tea , deffo a winner. The catering on BA and the snack station looks great also. I was in the terraces lounge in LGW last year and it was really nice. One of the best IMHO.
Glad you enjoyed Florida. Looking forward to your next TR

Quoting AAden (Reply 12): was the mustang the gt version or the V6
The Mustang appears to be a V6 version. The GT Mustang has different wheels, IIRC.
