First of all I'd like to thank all the WN staff for a great trip! You all(for the most part went above and beyond for a couple of non revs.
My bf who is mexican wanted to go to the Gloria Trevi concert in Houston, since the LA concert was sold out. So since we have jumpseat agreement/cabin seat agreements on both WN and FL I had some connections to check the loads. FL connecting thru ATL didnt look so good going out, but coming back it was wide open. So I called the WN non rev number and asked about flights from FLL-HOU. All the WN website showed was FLL-MCO-HOU or FLL-MSY-HOU. And when I called the automated non rev system, for every flight I entered it came back and said the flight "LOOKS BAD" (probability of getting on) so I spoke with an agent on the phone and he said we have a nonstop flight at 505pm arriving Houston's Hobby at 705pm on the 23rd and he said it looks great. I joked with him on the phone because I told him when we call our res number they always tell us it looks great even when its oversold. He laughed and he said there are 35 open seats on it. So I had him list us.
We go to the gate, but there was no gate agent there, just a pilot. The agent at the next gate was so funny. We were standing there and he was like hello!?!?! you can come over here!!! Hello yes I'm talking to you in the tie! lol
So we walk up to him and tell him were trying to get on the flight to houston, but we've never used the WN cabin seat agreement before. He said, its so simply its stupid. He had us fill out the "4th attendant seat form" and said it was wide open, so he gave us a boarding group and position number. He was great, and he was even joking with a pax you could tell he had enough with, when she came up in here little scooter he said "oh dear lord, here we go again" but he said oh honey they're pilots they dont know anything, come over here to my office and i'll help you. I thought that was great. He couldnt have very well gave here the attitude that he had had it with her keep comming up and asking questions.
Well I've never flown on WN since they switched from the simple A, B, C groups. We were in group B position 55, 56. I didnt know, nor did a LOT of pax either. Well when I thought it was our time to board we walk up there and the gate agent yelled out in front of all the other pax waiting to board "WE DONT PRE-BROAD OTHER AIRLINE EMPLOYEES ANYMORE, YOU NEED TO WAIT TILL YOUR GROUP IS CALLED" I honestly thought our group was called but it wasnt, I was so embarraressed!!!! I also saw here yell at other pax who were confused as well. And I heard some pax saying, this is so confusing. Then she yelled at an elderly gentleman, who could not walk very well. She yells at him "did you check in as a pre-board?" and he was like well not, i didnt know i needed to. then she says to him.....FINE! DO YOU WANT TO GO ON BOARD NOW, JUST GO AHEAD! I looked at my bf like WOW! I can see her getting upset with us and other pax who cant figure out the boarding process, but an elderly gentleman, come on now honey, give him some slack there! But when she said FINE JUST GO, I was kinda in disbelief.
Well we got on board, handed our "4th" form to the captain and the lead welcomed us onboard, both very
friendly. met another F/A midcabin, she says make yourself at home, grab a pillow and blanket(ew no thank you lol) and she says there still may be a few seats together for you two. the first agent we ran into plus on the flight crew were all awesome. so kudos to you all!!! They asked us a couple times if we were ok and if we needed anything. We left FLL probably about 20-30 minutes late, arrived into Hobby about 10 minutes early. Once again thanked the crew for the ride and for everything, and the lead said enjoy your concert.
We werent listed so we went to the ticket counter, which in Hobby was no wait. the agent listed us and said there will be no problem it was only booked to 75. So he put our info into the computer and then said, can I see your badge? I'll be right back. I told my bf he's probably checking to see if we have a cabin seat agreement with them. after all its HOU, they've probably never seen an NK F/A trying to use it here before. So he comes back and he says thank you very much. your flight will leave out of gate 41, just check in with the gate agent. And he wrote on your standby pass gate 41. At first I thought he wrote the flight number, then I looked at the monitor....flight 41 departs from gate 41. I kinda laughed LOL what a coincidence huh!
Again the gate agent was very friendly, issued us our boarding passes...this time B group positions 16, 17. Ran into a non-revving WN F/A who lives in FLL and commutes to BWI and she didnt know but was excited about the agreement we have and said now she's going to start using it to go to the carribean, etc.
So we are in the jetway, and one of the working F/As comes down the jetway with food for the crew(WN has come to an agreement with the FAA where 1 F/a way leave the aircraft to get food during deplaining/boarding...no other airline can do) So we introduced ourselves to here and she said she was tired. So I made small talk with here and asked if she had a long day, and she stated this was their 5th leg of the day, and I said "and I complain about 3 legs" We gave the crew some chocolate as our appreciation for letting us get a free ride (like most good jumpseaters do) Again welcomed by all crewmemebers
We left about 20 minutes late due to awaiting this inbound aircraft/crew, very quick turn as always with WN, and we were on our way. I have no clue what the scheduled arrival time was, but going out to HOU it was almost 3 hours and I think because it wasnt an over water equipped aircraft we had to hug the coast. the non-revving F/A was talking to my bf and she told him i hope this aircraft has the rafts, he didnt know what she was talking about. but i said did you notice they did the lifevest demo and on the way out they didnt? it was about 2 hours to FLL. The F/As, everything they walked by us asked if we needed anything, we were like no we're ok, thank you!. When I went to the lav the FA in the aft galley asked if we needed anything...No, but thank you!!!!!
Great hospitality by a great airline.....I would like to thank you all again for everything, and if your ever on board my A/C I hope I can return the favor!!

Glad you had a great time! WN was always great when my wife and I use to NonRev. She was a pilot for United Express/West Air. I was a TA at the time and WN took very good care of us. The computer took most of the guess work out of NonRev Roulette. WN made flying fun like Pacific Southwest Airlines did. Long live WN.

WN is always SO nice to nonrevs, they are my favorite airline aside from my own to fly as a nonrev. I mean, the assigned seating doesn't mean much as a nonrev so it's not even a big deal and they provide excellent service in comparison to most other airlines.

Thanks guys. It had been several years since I've been on WN and they were nothing but professional all the way, except for the boarding agent in FLL. She was very strict about the new boarding procedures. We thought we were boarding when we were suppose to but I guess not. It was so much nicer in HOU. they had monitors in the line that stated what group and numbers they were boarding. The cabin crews were very professional on both flights. No corny announcements LOL And you could tell they took great pride in their work. They not only took care of us freeloaders(non-revs) but to all pax on board equally. A great experience!!!
