I don’t know why I started to post my trip reports in this order but what the hell. I’ll post about the following legs later MTY-SAT-ATL-CDG-LHR-PRG.
After a 9 day trip in Europe and a 3 day stay in Prague it was time to go back home. I woke up at about 6 am, took a shower, and got my things. I was inside a hotel van at about 715 am or so. I got to PRG around 8. My flight was departing from terminal 1 I believe. We got to the Delta check in where there was a line of about 8 people.
Terminal 1 and the famous Praha sign.
We were in line for about 10 minutes when first we went to an agent asked us a lot of questions. After that we checked in the bags. We went through immigrations and then we went towards our gate.
The 767 that took me to ATL.
Boarding was quick and efficient the zones or groups that Delta has (like many other carriers) are mostly efficient. I got inside the little monster. This was my second 767 flight (first was 9 days before). The plane looked new; I expected it more worn out. The old projector I have only heard about was not there. Apparently my plane was one of the new ones that have the new LCDs. Lucky for me I had the 2 seats for myself. The Flight was not that full.
Taxing to the runway.
As we were pushing back, snow started to fall. Taking off with a heavy snowstorm was amazing. The power on the 767 was noticeable.
About 1 hour into the while we were over Northern England and Ireland in the distance I saw a contrail. Minute by minute they got closer. The sight was AMAZING, I had never seen a plane as close to us as this one, suddenly he flew over us, a few minutes passed and he came over us again and then he flew a more west heading.
Taken with my dad's SLR.
Taken with my point and shoot. It's a UA 777, I believe.
During the flight I watched Enchanted (better than what I expected) and a movie called August Rush which was pretty good. The food was average. After the two movies I read a book called “The Digital Photography Book” by this guy called Scott Kelby. It was quite interesting, so interesting in fact that I read the 209 pages which I had never done before in one sitting.
View from my seat.
View from the back of the plane.
In the middle of north Canada.
A further south into Canada.
The midflight snack was the typical ice cream and a few hours after that they gave us this sandwich which was ok.
Landing in ATL.
Landing in ATL.
We landed in ATL about 1 hour early so when we got to the gate we had to wait about 15 minutes to park. We got to gate E1. Immigration was very very slow. DFW terminal D is much better, much much better than ATL’s. And after being in line 1 hour we had another 35 minutes of waiting to go through security (again DFW’s system much more efficient).
I’ll tell you guys later about my last flight of my trip ATL-MTY on my first Embraer 170 flight.
Overall, ATL is a nightmare to connect, especialy internationaly. You really need a good 3 or 4 hours connection time to make it. If my flight would have arrived on schedule we would not have made it. The 767-300 does have the lack of a better IFE, in my eastern (764) flight that I took a few days before we had the AVOD system which was beautiful.

100%! I just went through both airports in the past 4 months and ATL is a nightmare compared to the very much efficient DFW terminal D which is glorious!

Interesting observation... I've found the experience to be extremely dependent on when you arrive at ATL; if it's before 1400 or so, it's much more pleasant.
I can't decide whether I miss the tulip or the bowling shoe more
