Last week I decided to use up one of my free flights I had earned on Frontier. I decided to go to SLC for some skiing before the season ended. Alta and snowbird are probably my fav, with Park City the place to be "seen"
The flight to DEN was 3:00 both leaving and departing on time. I had a window seat and the weather all the way from ATL-DEN was clear. I paid my $5 and watched some Direct TV. MSNBC seems to have turned into the "prison channel". Lots of shows about crimes and life behind bars. So I watched TV. Strangely F9 didnt serve any snacks or food on this flight. I thought it might be due to their bankruptcy and attempt to cut costs. The fligth was uneventful. Landing in DEN was bumpy as it always seems to be.

In DEN I had about 1:15 till my SLC connection. I did some spotting and saw F9's new A320 and a LH 346 leaving for FRA. I grabbed some food and Jinny's bar and grill

The flight to SLC was uneventful...just some usual chop over the continental divide. No clouds so grat sightseeing. 1 hour flight , so too short to waste $5 on TV. F9 only does a drink serive on this sector, but that is al lthey did on ATL-DEN as well. We arrived in SLC from the south over Provo. The valley was clear, no pollution or inversion were present. The sun was setting at about 8pm

A340-600 Departing to DEN..I'd love to see this take off from DEN ona 100 F day

I love the bridge over the tarmac

I rented a car, went to my hotel off I-215 and went to sleep. Got up next morning early, ate breakky and headed for Cotton Wood Canyon and Alta.
Skiing was AWESOME....temps were 50+ degrees. Snow was still excellent with a 170 inch base and the sun was strong. I didnt wear a coat, just my sweater. By 2pm my legs are sore and the snow conditions were deterioting with the heat of the day

I headed to the airport....One thing I love about SLC, is you cannot get lost. The streets are all wide and named for how many blocks you are from downtown (the temple I suppose), 1000 south, 5000 south, 900 east etc...
I got to the airport and check in and went thru security.
B6 had a flight to SAN at 1730 about 25 min after our flight to DEN and it looked empty. Also sitting in the waiting area was a woman who looekd 100% like actress Ali Larter. I was gonna take a pic of her and posit it to get opinions if it was her or not, but thought better of it.

Look closely, you can see the runs at Park City
Front range....mountains rise up out of no where
The takeoff was to the north along the Wasatch front. We flew over Park City. No clounds and no bumps to DEN. Drink service only, I had tomato juice. No TV, too short, but I did see MSNBC was still running prison documentaries. It was only a 58 min flight but we cruised at 39,000 ft...is this to save fuel? I never remeber crusing this high except on long haul flights. Flew over Estes Park. No bumps over the continental divide this time (try flying over it in a prop sometime lol)
In DEN I only had 30 min. I got some excellent fudge and some movie popcorn for the flight as well as a wrap

Watched more MSNCB prison stories and FOX family guy. I had a ginerale and water. This time there were snacks, so I guess F9 does stil lserve free snacks at least until May 1st. Our takeoff from DEN was to teh west and took a long time. Landed in ATL slightly after midnight.
I had a grat flight. I love F9 and hope they survive. Ill take iot personally if they go out of business

thanks, I enjoyed it very much. the load factors on those flights was amazing, but i guess it was the end of the ski season for DEN and SLC and probably around some spring breaks. You should try Park City again in Jan, Feb, or early March. In the coldest months those three ski areas are pretty amazing also, and park city is alot of fun for apres ski.
