Saturday early morning, I woke up at 5:30am and drove to my friend’s house and rode my car with my friend to the airport. My friend took my car to take care of it. At O’Hare was moderate traffic in the terminal. I came to the gate. There were so many people at the waiting room area. The flight is origin to Shanghai, China to change aircraft in SFO. I noticed the passenger was holding the ticket. ORD to Shanghai round trip fare is about $525.00 RT. That’s a good deal! I did not see date purchase issued. It was interesting. That’s a long way to China for some people in the waiting area. I was lined up to the boarding gate. I went straight to the cockpit. I talked to the pilots. They were friendly. I asked some detail flight plans. I walked to the cabin seat at 42A. The window seat is just perfect view for me on the domestic plane of 777. We left gate C10 about 5 minutes later schedule ahead. We taxied to A6 to J to W then to T all the way until T10 to the runway 32L for take off roll. It was very good climbing through fast enough. The weather was light partly cloud in Chicago area. Iowa and Nebraska are clear. Colorado part of cloudy for a while. Utah to California all clear. I can see Utah’s desert had a flat white sand pond. I couldn’t see what it looks like sandstorm or something strange sight white smog sand. Have you seen this before over Utah before? I saw Tonopah, NV airport when 777 started to slow down and drop some thousand of feet all the way to Fresno then power increased to the SFO arrival. I assumed the problem heavy traffic pattern when we were on the way. I couldn’t see SFO airport the cloud was extremely low. I can see SF’s downtown skyscraper layer of cloud. The 777 landed was very smooth on runway 28R. The Northwest DC-10 was waiting to roll take off on RWY 28L. As 777 stopped at the taxi and NWA DC10 took off and climb away. We arrived gate at 82. I was expected to meet the airliners.net membership “ILUV767” as David. I met him at the gate. We met for the first time. David was nice to show me to the new international terminal for my first time to see it. We talked for an hour so David had planned going to someplace. It was pleasure met him.

United Flight #857

On early Tuesday morning, I woke up and went to check online status flight #857. I was a little freak out. The plane is possible late schedule behind. A half hour later, the gate has been changed to 98 from gate 82 as early mentioned status. I thought it was gate 98 is in the international terminal. I was nervous to want to get on 777 not 747-400 or 767-300 if change gate for equipment reasons or something.. Two hours later, the gate was changed again to 96. The schedule postpone to 2:30PM from 1:50pm. I was freak out a little bit worry about equipment what will be on. I drove back to SFO airport drop off the rental car. The rent car is sucks. The car is KIA sportage is terrible ride I have ever had it! I will never do again to drive KIA! I prefer Honda that I owned Honda for many years. Anyway, I arrived at the airport earlier one and half hour ahead my flight. I walked to the gate. There is no plane dock gate, yet. I was nervous and waiting for counter agent to come up. We waited for 30 minutes finally the agents came and trying to set up computer system for our flight. I saw the plane just came in. I can see Boeing 777. I couldn’t see the registration number. Because of block the jetway. I got the first line to the counter myself. I walked to the window to see the plane’s tail number. It was international plane of 777. I was said myself YES! The 777 has PTV all class. I went to the cockpit. The captain was nice. I talked about the flight plans. I went back to the seat 42A. I was not expecting that seat 42A is the very END row! Jeez! I had one window view! Dang! Next time, I will grab seat number from 41A to 39A. I was lucky that I remember to try get 43A or 44A what happen if the plane was switch from domestic to Intl. I will be lose the seat and have to catch other flight later. Jeeeeeez! Oh man! The 777 pushed back at 2:45pm taxied to B all the way circle to RWY 1R. The 777 sit on the runway for very moments then roar engines rolling out on the runway. It climb out to OAK over airport. I saw the Southwest 737-300 or 700 climbing underneath my plane from OAK runway 29 path. It was awesome sight SFO area. I can see Golden Gate and everything was cool! It was clear weather all the way until Colorado was very high thick cloud. The plane from 37,000ft started to climb reach to 41,000ft to avoid though cloud. It was a little bit turbulence over DEN area. I noticed the moving map was headed northeast should go to Sidney,Neb but the ATC might told to turn southeast headed to McCook, Kansas. It was broken cloud some of them over Kansas and Iowa. There was overcast over Illinois as we descent from 41,000ft. I never saw in my life was spoiler up at 41,000ft! The 777 started quickly drop descent all the way to 20,000ft the spoiler went off and then a little bit turning left and right. The 777 started again spoiler up to start descent to the final approach runway line up 4R. The landing is just perfect smooth quietly brake and reverse engines. It was awesome. I saw the American B737-800 landed on RWY 9R at the same time as we touchdown. I got off the plane and same time the captain was next to me. I talked to him. He smiled to me. It was fun trip. I went home and very tired the next morning back to work. Ahh! United was excellent service. As well as the food service was good on the both flights.

Hey Big777jet, glad to hear your experience on United went so well. More and more people here who have flown United since the demise of the merger have said that service on United has gotten much better.
