I am considering a Qantas flight between LHR and SIN in the coming year. However, this distance is so great that even the 744s must stop for fuel. Does anyone happen to know where they stop? Thanks for your time.
I am also a budding airline enthusiast and would appreciate any hints you guys may have on how to find out what type of a/c flies what routes. Where can I find serial numbers, registration numbers, and other data online? For example, I am scheduled to fly TUC to CVG on Thanksgiving this year on Delta; and then on to TYS (Knoxville) from CVG. I assume I will be on a regional jet for the CVG-TYS leg. Any hints / suggestions / comments / ideas would be greatly appreciated.
I will be sure to take careful notes so I can post a full report upon my return!

In the 'old days' everyone used to stop on the way to SIN,I made the journey many times and I recall stops in places such as Dubai,Muscat,Bahrain,Bombay and once in Moscow.
I preferred it that way,I'd rather not have the boredom of 12-14 hours non-stop flying.
