Hi all,
As promised here is my trip report.
Airbus 332
load : business class = 100%
coach class = 95 %
Outbound : CDG-DXB
Check-in : the agent in charge was not that nice... when I arrived she told me, sir here is business class, please proceed to the coach class counter. I was about to scream at her, but after all I don't care, she was just a silly person. I laughed when I gave her my plat card... it was worth it...
Lounge T.F : almost full at 9;30 pm, few snacks were available, but it's kinda a shame to see what AF is offering to premium passengers. Agents from the lounges were very nice.
Bording : delayed for 20 min, there was no line for premium passengers nor elite.
Crew : They were fantastic.
Catering : AF have to change the provider, french the so-called best in cooking.... I think it's a joke. As a french, it's killing me, how in the hell LH, NH, CO, are enable to provide better catering. I had a SMFL.
prior arrival the BF was served..
Aircraft + Seats and IFE:
The plane was neat, and my seat was a toboggan, it's always very hard to sleep on. IFE worked.
Impressions + Scores:
The crew were very nice, but paying 2600 E R/T its very expensive.. for that, next time I have to fly to DXB, I will try EK for sure
Check In: 1 (no comment)
Lounge: 6 (I expect more from AF)
Boarding: 5 (a mess)
Seat: 6.5 (a bit wider could be nice, and please I wanna a bed not a lie-flat)
Crew: 9.5 (always looking after you)
Meal: 5 (a good joke)
Entertainment: 5 (working).
Inbound : DXB-CDG
Airbus 332
load : business class = 100%
coach class = 90 %
Check-in : efficient and friendly
Lounge : empty even when boarding begun (roughly 6 pax) few snacks were available, out of 2 computers 1 was dead. Never mind I had my laptop and by miracle I grabbed the wireless internet from EK BC lounge... (tks Falco Peregrinus for your previous experience)
Bording : delayed for 10 min, there was no line for premium passengers nor elite.
Crew : They were amazing.
Catering : Same comment as above, I'm still trying to figure out what kind of fish I had.....
prior arrival a small, small, small bites were served.
Aircraft + Seats and IFE:
Same comment as above
Impressions + Scores:
Same comment as above
Check In: 8 (good)
Lounge: 6 (I expect more from AF)

Very nice trip report, enjoyed reading it.

AF catering (at least in CDG and some airports) is done by servair, which you guessed it belongs to.... Air France. I agree though that AF catering in J has gone downhill in the past few years. I actually find the Y meals sometimes look more appetizing.
I take it from some of your comments that you visit the FB board on flyertalk also?

AF catering is getting worse and worse... even in first class, the catering is not tht good as you may expect....
FT also... for sure
I haven't flown AF J recently, but in January I flew LAX-CDG in J. One advice on that route is not to eat any fruit especially the breakfast. I had food poisoning as a result of that for 4 days (didn't make the same mistake a month later and picked the overburnt pancakes).
Other than that, I find the red wines are the worst part on AF. I'm surprised more people don't complain, the current ones are horrible. Champagne is still good though.

Merci pour le reportage !
It is unconceivable that Air France as one of the world's largest and most respected carriers have not managed to impose to Servair a more stringent criteria for C-class food !
I mean it looks ok but -i've experienced it myself- ther's a difference beteween the appearance and the taste.
Technically AF is certainly OK - the service in general quite welcomming and warm-but if you pay that amount of money you should expect better price-performance ratio.
Foodwise - in Europe- I found Austrian Airlines are very good-(other than of course the great Asian carriers like Thai and Singapore, who often have top ratings in airline-food quality ratings-I appreciate their food for they use nicely spiced prepares)

Tks for all the comments.
As Beaucaire pointed out, it looked good, but the taste and smell were tough to believe. My GF works for SV, I fly them very often and the catering is even better..
There is always an offset btw the adds and reality. I love LH catering.
However I wonder why AF is not aiming for the best ?
It's reckless for AF.
Indeed when I can avoid AF, I'm happy...
Will fly to HKG in F pretty soon (2 months).... on AF !! Too bad cuz I wanted to sample QR in First class !

I am surprised that they use a 2-class A330 on the DXB route-- I thought there would be a large demand for F class. Certainly Dubai is a premium-heavy destination nowadays
