This will be my first (trip)report so suggestions are welcome.
On a cold january day, while browsing the web I found that Easyjet had a 20% discount on flights in April and May. I looked around for options from Amsterdam, and decided that Milan Malpensa would be the destination of choice (Just € 51,50), thinking it would be quite nice weather in april.
Since I was departing from the M-terminal in Amsterdam, and there are not that many flights departing from that section, I knew there would be no lines for security. Checked in online at home, and made my way to the airport, arriving just 1 hour before departure. The weather in Amsterdam was quite good, so I walked around a bit at the observation desk before going through security.

Amsterdam (AMS) - Milan Malpensa (MXP)
Flight number; EZY2726
Departure; 09:45 (10:15) - 11:25 (11:50)
Aircraft: Airbus A319
Load Factor: 83%
Seat: 23 A
Not busy at the observation deck in the morning
Some activity below
Security was indeed a breeze, no waiting line, and friendly people at the check point.
Boarding was allright, when you check in online, you are assigned to boarding group A, but since many people use this service nowadays, it is hardly any value. Still people getting on board in a more orderly manner then with Ryanair.
I managed to secure seat 23 A, and luckely a big guy sat down in the aisle seat, so there was no one sitting in the middle seat, giving you just that more of space!
The short delay was caused because of the aircraft coming in late, later I realised why, since the weather was quite terrible in Milan.
Once a board things were quickly sorted and soon on the way to the runway, we were lucky to use the ‘Aalsmeerbaan’ 18L/36R, which means only short taxi, and fly over my parents home, always nice to see from the air!
The flight itself was pretty uneventfull, ofcourse with easyjet, food and drinks are not included, but they were not pushy at all to sell anything.
Flying over the Alps
At landing there was heavy turbulence, and we were in the clouds seconds before touchdown, so no chance to make any pictures. Easyjet is using terminal 2, which is really showing its age. From there there are good options to Milan by bus, but since I was already delayed I choose to take the local bus to Gallarate.
I decided to head back early to visit terminal 1, which is much nicer, nice view from the check in Area at the tarmac.
AL Italia still around
A whole line of check in counters unmanned.
Easyjet should move to Terminal 1, and since the airport look not that busy, it should be possible, especially when AL Italia finally will go bankrupt. (And then restart in a better way they are doïng now).
Time to get back to Terminal 2, when arriving there the line at security was long, even outside the designated area. What make it worse is that there were only 2 scanners manned....
After 30 minutes in line I was finally in the secured area, just to see my flight was delayed on the computer screen.

Milan Malpensa (MXP) - Amsterdam (AMS)
Flight number; EZY2727
Departure; 18:25 (19:25) - 20:20 (21:05)
Aircraft: Airbus A319
Load Factor: 87%
Seat: 23 A
The initial delay was 30 minutes, but since there was only 1 member of staff at the boarding gate, it took a bit longer.
Just at the start of Boarding
Once aboard, the dutch (!) pilot apologised for the delay, stating it was because of shortage off staff for loading the bags and passengers. Quite nice to hear some Dutch flight information aboard an aircraft, rather then the usual english!
The flight itself was uneventfull, after clearing the clouds no more turbulence and quite a quick flight to Amsterdam. Since it was dark, and my crappy camera, no pictures possible at this time of day.
Landing at the Kaagbaan 06/24, means only 5 minute taxi to the gate, especially Easyjet seems to taxi quite fast!

Hi
nice report. I only miss the aircraft registrations for your report.
Indeed. M-gates are only used for MXP (U2) and VIE (NE) flights in the morning rush, no lines for security usually.

Most airlines do so, to win some time on their schedule

Groeten,

I will try to get the registration numbers next time, if I think about it that is...
Since april 1st (NE) is also for PRG using the M-terminal in the morning, since Czech Republic is now fully enrolled in the Schengen Agreement.
Sky Europe and Clickair where going quite a bit slower (in my experience) when taxiïng to the gate.
