I really enjoyed this report and your outbound one. Both were excellent reads. Isn't it a bit of a novelty to have a Greek guy flying on a Turkish airline . All jokes aside, TK look like an excellent airline that I must try fairly soon. That lounge in IST looks really interesting. Also, being able to earn BD miles with them now makes it even better. How much was this biz class return if you don't mind me asking? Just wondering what sort of fares I could expect to pay with TK in business.
Thanks again for the great pair of reports. Keep up the good work!!
According to one of my colleagues, my problem is that I'm addicted to travel!

It looks like Versailles - or Imperial Russia I have never seen anything like it at an airport - such a difference between that aesthetic and, say, SAS for instance!!
Not quite my taste, but then it takes all sorts, I suppose!
Quoting OA260 (Thread starter): The items I bought . Almond cookies are my favourite. We have them in Greece and they are called a similar name
( Kourabiedes )
There are so may things common to the former Ottoman Empire - but what's comical is that each claims ownership of it - you'll get a funny look if you try ordering a 'Turkish Coffee' in Thessaloniki (birthplace of Ataturk) and I have no idea if 'Lokum' is a Turkish word of Greek origin, or if 'Loukoumi' is a Greek word of Turkish origin - maybe you know OA260??
Anyway, at Larnaca airport they avoid the whole thing by selling it as "Cyprus Delight"
What a great trip report - this and the outbound were top-notch and the pics are amazing!

Thanks for the reports,
Someone correct me but recently it was announced that the lounge is going to get a makeover. I really like it, well I am always for anything that doesn't look safe. Maybe the new look will have even bolder colors, and textures.
The J load looked very light on the flight.

WOW the IST international terminal has changed a lot since I was last there a couple years ago.
Thank you for posting this wonderful TR and I enjoyed your pictures a lot. The food and service look great and I'm glad I'm not the only one that loves the cherry juice. I'm glad you had a great flight with TK.

As usual a very detailed and topnotch report! I really enjoyed reading it, and looking at yr pictures.
Also great to had the chance to see the 380 at LHR, and to see the BA 777 G-YMMM without her tail.
I liked the TK 321, it sure looks very nice!

Thanks again for another great TR.
IST looks a really nice airport and your pictures and comments make me want to fly through it when going East.
The lounge is simply amazing... what a difference from the LH lounges I am used to. It is certainly not the way I would decorate my own space but finding this in airport today is something really astonishing to say the least.

Great report Phil, really enjoyed it!
That lounge is very different, not sure I personally like it but you can't say its boring. When I first saw the photos of TKs cabin I hated it but the colours actually go very well and it's different from the usual blues and blacks.
Nice photos from Hatton Cross, the weather was very good last week, shame I can't say the same about this week though.

after the first report I didn't expected a good flight for you, but looks like I err...
you made very good photos and presented a great product, well actually I hope somebody of TK read it as this is some kind of add for their Business Class.
I like the blue/turqoise seats on their A32x, they are comfortable and fresh looking.
I have to admit I loved it !! Something different and very Eastern. I wouldnt want my home decorated like that as Im more of a minimalist guy when it comes to my home interior. I emailed a pic of the lounge to my mate and he laughed and said it looks like his Mums living room in Lahore LOL....I guess its like a yellow car !! Works well in the Med but looks not so good in other places where you have no sun . Each to their own.
Quoting SASDC8 (Reply 10): OA260: Does * A Gold have access to that lounge as well??
Yes Star Golds get into SQ / UA or SK lounge.
Quoting PKflyer (Reply 11): The videos were amazing quality!
How was Istanbul then Phil?
Im looking forward to your return TR !! Istanbul was nice . Thanks again....

Really enjoyed reading both your TK trip reports - thanks for putting them together and sharing some great photos and video clips. The business class product looks really good quality for a relatively short flight, especially those A330 seats. Nice to see such friendly service too.
Good call with the A380 at LHR on your return - I passed through T5 yesterday morning and just as we were driving up the ramp towards the departures drop-off zone, it flew passed almost at eye-level, touching down on 09L - incredible sight!
