Trip Report: 6
Date: May 3, 08
Flight: AC 704 YYZ - YUL
Seat: 22 K
Aircraft: 77L
Load: 1% C / 20% Y
I was going to use my Flight Pass for a YYZ - YUL and YOW - YYZ trip I needed to make but the fare war with Porter and WestJet made it cheaper to buy the flights on AC in the Tango category. Total for the 2 flights all-in came to $200.
Checked in on-line, all carry-on. No issues.
The Long Term parking air-train terminal... nice and new and looking like T1 architecture.
Info board inside... every time I take the train someone asks for directions, seems no one reads this thing.
Weather was bad... leaving LTP terminal (Viscount)
Canadian institution Tim Horton's inside T1. Cheapest and best eats in the terminal. Less than $1.50 for a bottle of water, un-heard of elsewhere in the terminal. Never fear the lineup it moves quick...
For me it was off the the lounge as I had some time to kill.
The BMW lounge in the lounge... it has a nice TV and 3 PCs. Usually it is pretty quiet.
General seating in the lounge...
Made myself a caesar... hmmm... it was good...
Spotting isn't easy from the lounge, thanks to the architects.
Some T1 traffic in the foreground and T3 in the background...
I boarded with other Star Alliance members but no one was in my sector, good chance for a pic!
Weather seemed ok and boarding was quick.
Thales IFE...
Again the maps didn't work!
Seat pitch...
The weather got much worse... this photo doesn't do it justice. Probably a 30 minute delay to pushback.
Tough gig...
Passing a KLM bird at T3
New Sunquest livery... they have now started scheduled service in addition to charter...
New Sunwing livery... maybe it is Sunwing that started the scheduled...
Miami Air, no idea they flew to Toronto...
AC hangar...
Mood lighting on... only for the rich! C was full of deadheading crew, 1 paying customer I think. Lie-flats for 50 minute flight... solid!
We were number 18 for departure with only one runway in service... estimated time was 40+ minutes to takeoff. I decided to spend my time photographing the UPS truck...
The lineup...
UPS truck...
No camera issues... just weather and rain effect...
Clearing the clouds...
Airtime of 55 minutes, drink service only...
Nice light during descent...
Dam!
Find the Quebec flag... another dam!
Final into YUL
Olympic departing...
The old Mirabel airport transfer bus things, I remember them taking me to Sabena, Canada3000 and countless other flights...
Even with the delays, I got to Montreal and the Bell Centre in time to catch the 1st goal of the game. Although it seems my attendance didn't help the team. At least there weren't any riots!
