Trip Report: 9

Flight: AC 441 YOW - YYZ
Seat: 12A
Aircraft: E190
Load: 90 to 97%
A very early flight from Ottawa to Toronto for work purposes was required. I believe the departure time was 7am with meant a 5am wakeup. Working until almost 1am meant that sleep would be at a premium!
I checked in on line as per usual and YOW was pretty dead quiet. Security had no lines and it was off the Maple Leaf Lounge.
The lounge in YOW is a renovated MLL with all the usual features. Unfortunately they were out of Diet Coke - fortunately it was made up for with the funniest sign of all time (and also something that should never be seen in the lounge - handwritten signage)
MLL standard breakfast selection. Fruit, toast, yoghurt, cereal, coffee...
There wasn't much time for the lounge, just a banana and coffee were enjoyed as boarding had commenced.
Very Canadian signage at the jetway.
Clear day and AC next door...
Excellent bulkhead legroom.
ERJ bag loading...
Pushback...
Busier than at night when we arrived, 50/50 WS and AC at the gates.
View of YOW from the tarmac.
AC birds parked by the construction area...
Construction on new gates for YOW and some asphalt work...
Porter also services YOW with a nice relatively low level flight that I've had the pleasure of taking.
YOW serves as a transfer location for many flights that fly to northern Ontario, Quebec, Nunavut, NWT and other parts of Canada. Canadian North is one of those carriers.
Purolator is Canadian FedEx / UPS alternative serving Canada mostly.
Any one know what this is? I think it is an Ameriflight plane...
Again safety demo was on screen.
First Air also serves the north.
Rolling takeoff and quick lift.
Outskirts of Ottawa
Arrrrggggg... still no moving map!
As I mentioned in the intro, I was on 4 hours sleep so I took a nap for the rest of the flight until landing. Service was apple, orange and water juice!
El Al at T3.
AC getting towed.
Cathay Pacific, which I will be seeing all the time...
Again, 45 minutes or so of flight time. Quick way to travel, everything was on time and nice and easy. Blukhead is great.

Nice photos!

Hahaha!!! Wow... Are you kidding me? This is made by Air Canada? ... I wonder what Coca-Cola Company would think of that! "Oh no! Our secret recepee that the little men inside the machine worked on for 1000 years has now been discovered!"
Superior decisions reduce the need for superior skills.

Quoting TupolevTu154 (Reply 2): From that picture it looks like you were in an E190/195
Seems your memory is better than mine! You are correct it was a 190. Thus the demo on the screen... and the divider. It was only a couple days ago but also 5 flights ago so they all get mashed together.
I'm trying to catch up so I don't forget things...
