So I spent 10 Days in Germany I will not put any pictures up because I hate it when people load the thread with pictures of their personal vacation so I will get right into it
So my main reason for leaving DEN is because of the DNC, whereas my apartment is across the street from the place the convention took place, and now that it was over I could go home.
I got to the airport 3 hours before departure and it took 1.5 hours to get checked in, because only 3 agents working the ticket counter and with being a non-rev having to check in at the Y desk it was forever because the agents would let priority customers go to the Y counter when the F/J counter was being used. After that I went through passport control, and security and to the international concourse, and to my surprise I had to go through security again at the gate, which in all of my time traveling internationally this has never happened to me.
I will let the pictures now talk
My official documents
A 763 to ORD
same flight all the way home
I really like LH's gate counters
Ship N773UA
I got my ticket about 30 minutes before departure and went on board.
AMAZING leg room
I don't care what people say I like UA's wall covering
The captian had on Ch9 which was a plus and also, for the first time ever, I heard the captain speak German!! I could not believe it, it was not the best German in the world, but with all of my international travels I had never heard him use a foreign tounge. We taxed off behind a LH A343 and it was quick and we were off
Ground shots
More Ground shots
Take off Video
Dinner orders were taken on the ground and about an hour after takeoff I was served, there were only 2 of us in the F cabin both non-revs, So the service was AMAZING.
Place settings
First course was a soufflé and was very good
Potato soup was next and was also very good
then the salad with a very good dressing
For the main course I took the beef it was kind of dry and very tough, I have learned to not take the beef on planes cause never had really good beef on a plane
For dessert ice cream, with all the toppings, it was rock solid and I had to let it sit 15 minutes before I could dig my spoon into it
After dinner I watched a movie and then tried to sleep and could not so I took out my computer and did some homework
Wing shots over Canada
Then A good German Breakfast was served and it was on a tray but other wise very good
Breakfast
Over VA
Landing in IAD
When we landed it was a quick taxi to the gate and customs took about 30 minutes because I was one of the last off the plane and I was glad I did not take any more time, because right when I got in line a PEK and a LHR flight got in and there was a line out of the customs area.
IAD-DEN
UA903
N776UA
Seat 14E (C class)
Load
F: 100%
C: 100%
Y: 100%
I was in an aisle so I did not get any window shots, lunch was a chicken salad and very good after I ate it I fell asleep and woke up when we were were about over the Colorado-Nebraska Border, otherwise it was a very good trip

Thank you- I also find that to be very annoying.
Honestly, looking at pictures of PEOPLE in a trip report makes me feel like a stalker, so I usually just close it!!!! LOL.
Breakfast? On a TRAY? In international first class?
Hmm.....

Honestly, looking at pictures
I totally disagree with these statements. Half the fun of reading these trip reports is about the destination itself. While I feel the priority of the reports on this board is about the flight experience, throw in some pictures of some far flung destination (or short flung) and you have a well rounded report.

Actually, I am one of those people that does enjoy seeing some holiday shots such as the occasional city scenes and other sights people come acroos on their trip as I always find it interesting to see foreign cultures and traditions etc. Though granted, I also find it "weird" to look at more personal pictures of other people!

I am ok with a few pictures of the destination city but when people put 20 or more, especially when they are of the poster and his family, it does make me feel like a stalker and I just skip through them, so I just hope people limit them, to only a few

Does CO tray their second meal in BizFirst?
Based off the trip reports posted on here yes CO does. It is a little wierd to see in F class but I suppose thats a minor thing in the grand schem of things.

Perfect timing for the posting of this trip report. I'll be doing the exact same routing with the exact same flight numbers on Wednesday, only in Y, so I'll let you know how things differ in the back of the bus. My flight's load looks pretty low, too. I hope UA isn't losing money on this route and am surprised they are serving it still with a 777, based on my and your load.

nice trip report.I find it odd that they served first lunch and then breakfast , considering this was not an overnight flight

All flights departing to the US has extra security screening at the gate. And even more so if it is an american airline. Its been like that for years, even before 9/11

The flight arrives into DC at around 3PM (leaves MUC at 1130AM) the first service is lunch of course and the second service is listed as a snack or brunch. 3PM is a little early for dinner and a little late for lunch so what was served was probably more of a snack/brunch then a full blown breakfast. That would also explain why a tray was used instead of setting up the full service.

Well, after flying it in Y, there are some obvious differences. I had a bulkhead seat.
First off, even after reading your TR, I had fogotten about the extra security at the gate. I had been sitting in the LH Business Lounge until about 5-minutes before boarding, so it was quite a surprise when I got to the gate and had to clear security and the "efficient" German customs lady again. Boarding itself was quite chaotic. The GA's were doing a good job of boarding only Seating Area 1 when it was called, and numerous people in other seating areas were turned around in front of me to wait their turn! Good job.
Meal consisted of a choice of "Chicken or Pasta." I chose the pasta. It was quite good. It came with a salad (much better than the one out of IAD) and a good roll and Strawberry cobbler for dessert. My seat-mate offered me her roll as she did not want hers, so I got 2 rolls!
The second service consisted of a sandwich, potato chips, and a Kit Kat bar, served in a plastic bag. Nothing fancy, but adequate.
Oh, how I wish I was in F, but I survived in Y on this flight.
