Well this isn't going to be overly exciting because it's just a trip report from me. But anyway, just recently I flew from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania(PIT) to San Francisco, California(SFO) and the flying part of it went just great. Actually I didn't receive non-stop flights because I didn't fly the hub airline in Pittsburgh, which is USAirways, but in fact I flew with Continental Airlines. Actually on the way out to SFO from PIT I flew Northwest Airlines, but I booked everything through Continental. I guess Continental and Northwest share schedules with eachother or something. But on the way out, we made a connection in Detroit, Michigan(DTW) and then I hopped on a non-stop flight from Detroit to San Francisco. And again this was with Northwest Airlines. The Detroit Wayne County Airport is rather large and Northwest Airlines have a major hub there, so everywhere ya look there's Northwest this and Northwest that. And it's an old airport, actually it seems like you're back in the 1960's when walking through the terminals there, but it's still a nice airport. I guess I'm just spoiled with my hometown airport(PIT) cause it's so new and clean.
Moving on here, the flight with NW to San Francisco went very smooth, everything was on time and we didn't experience any turbulance whatsoever. And also I enjoyed the aircraft, which was a Boeing 757 jet..Lots of leg room on that jet. It took about 4.5 hours of flight time from Detroit to San Francisco. Everything went just fine on the way out, no one seemed uptight about terrorists and everyone was just calm and it was a nice flying experience for me. Our NW flight arrived on time in San Francisco's International Airport, well actually it may have arrived about 10 minutes before schedule, but we were on time!
Now for the report on the way back from San Francisco. Okay on the way back, I flew from SFO to PIT but this time it wasn't with Northwest Airlines but with Continental Airlines. This of course wasn't going to be a non-stop flight to Pittsburgh either, but that doesn't matter to me..Actually I enjoy seeing all the different airports! Anyway, from SFO airport I flew to Houston, Texas(IAH)..It was Houston's Intercontinental Airport where I flew to. Houston has another airport, I think it's called Hobby airport. Houston is a pretty populated area so I suppose 2 airports are essential. The flight from SFO to IAH went very good as well, hardly any turbulance and also everyone was calm and cool. Again, no one uptight or scared on this flight. And that was a great thing, hey there's no need to be afraid anymore! Okay the only negative experience I had on this particular leg of the flight was that the guy sitting right in front of me, in Continental's coach class, moved his seat back as far as it goes and I was extremely mad because he cramped me up so bad. It must have taken away over half of my leg room and I was so cramped. I literally felt like punching that guy in the mouth, but I kept cool and calm lol. Some people are just so ignorant though, that I will say!!! Moving on, this flight with Continental from SFO to IAH was on a Boeing 737 jet and it was not as comfortable as the NW 757, that's for sure! It seemed more cramped up and there wasn't quite as much leg room, but the flight was good. Service was good and it went very smooth overall. Everything was on time, no delays so I was pretty happy with that. When we arrived in Houston, the airport there was very crowded. There were wall to wall people and it was one of the busiest airports I've ever been in, well it seemed that way anyhow. The flight from San Francisco to Houston took around 3.5 hours of flight time.
Now it was time to finally fly back to Pittsburgh. So after about a 2 hour lay over in Houston, I boarded Continental's Boeing 737 500 series jet and again, it was not overly comfortable because the seats were rather close together so the leg room wasn't too wonderful, but everything was on time again and the flight was very smooth, no turbulance and the service was good. It took 2 hours and 47 minutes of flight time from Houston Intercontinental Airport to Pittsburgh International.
Overall, my flights were very pleasent and every flight was on time, service was good and the flying was fun. No problems with these flights, well except for the guy who moved his seat back into my face. Haha but I survived.
