LAN Airlines

Flight: LA 591
Departure: 7:00am/7:12am (Scheduled/Actual)
Arrival: 10:25am/10:15am (Scheduled/Actual)
Flight Duration: 2h 03min
Equipment: Boeing 767-312ER
Registration: CC-CZW
Cabin: Y

Introduction:
LAN Airlines currently operates between MIA and PUJ twice weekly. LAN Chile operates MIA-PUJ-SCL on Saturdays, and LAN Argentina operates MIA-PUJ-EZE on Sundays. Punta Cana is a very popular resort town located on the D.R.'s southeast coast and many intercontinental flights operate into the Punta Cana International Airport.
Boarding:
During the boarding process newspapers were offered to all passengers. As usual, the Y cabin was impeccably clean with pillows and blankets placed on each seat.
After boarding headsets were distributed, along with Custom and Immigration forms for those disembarking at Punta Cana, D.R. By 7:00am doors were closed and we were on our way to PUJ.
In-Flight:
Approximately 20 minutes after departure, the cabin crew began the in-flight meal service. Passengers were offered two choices which consisted of scrambled eggs or pancakes.
After the meal service, cabin crew began LAN's Duty Free service.
Approaching the Dominican Republic's north coast:

CC-CZW disembarking after the quick flight from MIA. The flight will continue onwards to Santiago de Chile in approximately one hour. Overall, LAN's service was excellent on this flight. The cabin crew were very friendly and professional and the flight was quite enjoyable. Once again, thanks to LAN for another great flight!

For some reason I really enjoy reading LAN reports. They seem like an airline that really has it together and knows how to treat its passengers well. I'm dying to try them sometime. It looks like the load factor for this flight was very low.
Is there any noticeable difference between LAN Chile and LAN Argentina? Is the cabin interiors, FF program, and staff all the same? Are the planes interchangeable?

The flight from MIA to PUJ was very light in Y on the MIA-PUJ sector. However, the majority of PAX board at PUJ and some PAX stayed on board that were continuing onwards to SCL. LAN actually added on an extra SCL-PUJ-MIA flight that operates on Sundays as well for the season. However, this is just seasonal and the extra flight ends next weekend.

The only differences between LAN Chile and LAN Argentina are: aircraft are Argentinian registered, crews are based in Buenos Aires, LAN Argentina is an associate member of oneworld, and LAN Argentina's operations in Buenos Aires are split between both EZE and AEP. However, the cabins, service, crew uniforms, PA's, LANPASS program, etc. are all the same. That also applies to LAN Ecuador and LAN Peru as well.
Quoting AirJamaica (Reply 3): I think PUJ is one of only 2 airports in this region that has direct service to Russia if memory serves me correctly.
Yes, I believe so; both HAV and PUJ receive services from Moscow. Aeroflot operates SVO-HAV and Transareo operates DME-PUJ. PUJ is also the third busiest airport in the Caribbean region; after SJU and CUN respectively.

Nice TR and photos. For anyone in the Northeastern US or Canada LAN now flies a 763 JFK-YYZ-JFK, a fairly economical way to fly LAN in this part of the world, for anyone interested in giving them a try.

I even believe that OS services PUJ n/s as well unless if they've stopped.

Thanks for the kind words. You are correct, OS 9561 operates VIE-PUJ weekly with a 772. Also, Transaero only operates DME-PUJ 3x weekly, not daily like I stated in my TR.

Excellent Trip Report on LAN! Their product looks amazing, especially the AVODs installed in each seat. I have only heard positive comments about LAN and I can't wait to fly on LAN one day! Thanks for sharing your TR!
