Hi,
Thought I'd try to upload a few pics from a flight I managed to take yesterday. Was with Ryanair from London Stansted to Frankfurt (Hahn) just in the morning.
Was dark when I left in the morning.
Apologies for the quality but this is meant to be a pic from the M25. I live on the South side of Londo so have to travel round the M25 to reach Stansted.
The Mid-stay car paek bus to the terminal.
Stansted terminal landside.
FR flight 752 to Frankfurt Hahn departure 7.05am.
Stansted terminal airside.
Starbucks (airside):
Lots of Ryanair planes:

Tunnel to the gate:

View from my seat (apologies for the rain etc.).
Wing view.
Other Ryanair planes holding short of the Runway (Runway 23 I think).
Holding short of an Easyjet plane coming in to land.

Nice TR
Frankfurt Hahn looks like a good airport for FR, exactly what they are looking for.

Hi,
Just to say many thanks for the comments/encouragement.
Quoting Av8rDAL (Reply 6): Is there a train link from Hahn to Frankfurt-Hbf yet? I heard one was being/was to be built.
There was only the bus link from what I saw that day but the bus looked pretty nice and there seemed to be quite a lot of them if needed. But from Google maps it looks like it's pretty far to Frankfurt city. The load factor was not that full if I remember right on the way (maybe 60%) but was quite full returning but I have no idea if those people go to Frankfurt city or just travel more locally. But in true Ryanair style Hahn is quite nicely a different place to visit (though would be pretty cool to visit the real Frankfurt airport one day with Lufthansa maybe).

Hi,
Just to say many thanks for the comment/encouragement. There's definitely not that much too see besides Ryanair planes and cargo planes at Hahn spectator's gallery but I found it nice that they had one (Fredrichshafen also had one and I think I heard that most German airports have them which is cool). It's a pretty cool airport overall I thought.

Quoting Av8rDAL (Reply 6): Been to both airports and both are very spartan, but functional and efficient places.

Nope, altghough the track is there (has already been there when Hahn was still a USAF airbase ... )
But the track does not permit for high speeds (less than 60kph max speed) at the moment. It´s out of service anyways for a couple of years now. So, they need to make a total makeover and still the traveltime to FRA is expected to be the same as the bus or even longer then ...
It is clear that passenger service will be reinstated but it´s difficult to determine when (maybe 2012 ??? ) and under which conditions ...
Btw.: The dual carriageway between the A61 Autobahn and Hahn airport will be completed by early 2010 (just about 10km/7mi are "missing". So, there´s just a small part with a single lane left now)

The bus is your standard coach bus and takes two hours more or less. I took the bus from FRA to HHN in February 08. I then flew "Frankfurt" to "Oslo", which works out since Sandefjord is actually my hometown.

Thanks for great TR! I always enjoy the Ryanair ones for some reason..!
Frankfurt Hahn makes me laugh - how can that be called Frankfurt really? The picture under "Short Final" is not exactly what I think of when I think of the City of Frankfurt. And the fact that a bus ride to the city center of about equal length to the flight time is sort of a joke. But Ryanair is efficient, I'll give them that much.
