Great report and some nice pictures! Emirates don't seem to have good seats on offer for Business Class - if I was paying for J Class I certainly would expect something more. What drove you to take Emirates? Surely other airlines offer faster and more comfortable routes.
Yes, I've been to Changi but only mentioned the pond with the Kois.
It also great but the cascade in DXB was more impressive to me.
I mean, the cascade is really huge....it covers 2-3 floors!

Thank you for the great TR!
You were on the 77Ws 3 times and never got a new J seat. I guess you were unlucky this time!

Quoting CXtra (Reply 18): This certainly confirms my impression that EK's J product is patchy at best; certainly not worth it given the usual price tag.
Any chance you care to explain that further? MH148 hasn't posted any words about the service and there may be the odd meal... but it still looks far superior to the 'stuff' we get in economy!

There is a video played by EK , but not the safety video, they usually play it to show the specifications of the aircraft from entertainment and other stuff...
could someone get it for me....
Some details about the flights:
FRA-DXB
Flight time: 05:42
Load factor: First (?), Business(60%), Eco (80%)
"Special": Overflying Mosul and Baghdad; first time for me

The service was really excellent on all flights.
During the boarding-procedure you get your glas of champagne, orange or apple juice. After take-off they serve the first drinks and hand over the menu and wine cards and some canapes & nuts.
A few minutes later ... eye shades, socks and amenity box.
Menu Cards are always in English and Arabic and additional in Chinese for the PVG-routing. I just realised, that the meal photos in my original post are not in relation to the actual flight. Sorry for that.
The A343 has still the old entertainment system (not ICE), but this magazine offers you a wide range of taped movies for First and Business Class passengers.

The business class seem to be a disgrace on the 77W!
I can't imagine that an airline such as EK can put such outdated J seats on a 77W (OK, the new 77Ws have new seats, but still...)
What to say about 7-abreast in J on the A343...
This is the problem of EK: the products are totally different from one plane to the other (and not only from a type to another...). You never know if you will have a good product or an everage one.

Thanks for the pictures.
Must agree with you on that one, the food doesn't look particularly fantastic either, food was presented better on my recent Royal Brunei J class flights.
