Ten days in Phuket flew past, and it was time to head back home, with a stopover in Singapore.

We proceeded to check in our bags, and went through immigration. The passport control was a long and tedious process, as there were a number of other flights departing, namely Air Asia A320 to Singapore, a Condor Boeing 767-300 to Munich via Sharjah, and a MyTravel A330 to Gothenburg via Sharjah, although I didn't get pics of the last one.

It turns out this was on of Silk Air's newest A320. It was certainly very clean, and a world of difference to the battered Air Asia 737 we flew down from Bangkok.

Here it is arriving from Singapore

Boarding was a few minutes late, but the load was very light and took no more than 10 minutes.

It seems that the boarding of the Condor flight to Munich took over an hour, and was heavily delayed. Here it is after finally getting under way. The Air Asia A320 in the next gate was also heading to Singapore within a few minutes of our Silk Air flight.

The Crowne Plaza Hotel we were staying it was on the other side of the airport, next to the new Terminal 3, so we had to walk to the end of Terminal 2, then undeground, across a walkway above the train station, and into Terminal 3.

Great TR

Really good pics.

The meal looks great on such a short flight!

Seems you otherwise had a normal flight, nothing out of the ordinary.

Was that a NWA 747 in a hanger? Who would do maintenance? They have a base in Japan, but not in SIN

That was a NWA 747 in the hangar getting some TLC. Don't know why though. Can anyone else shed any light?

The 744 is also very light, with just a short hop to BKK.

SilkAir looked alright from the inside, but their seat covers aren't all that nice imo.
Good photos though and brilliant commentary  Smile

Nice report & pictures, enjoyed the trip.

Silk Air seem pretty nice, like the seat colours, makes a change from the usual blue colours.

Nice meal for th short hop too, loads are poor though.

Mark

Indeed poor load that day. We were initially booked on an earlier flight, which they cancelled about a month earlier, and rebooked us on this one. So this one had people from two flights on it, and that still totalled about 30- 40 people.
