I checked in at Gulfport-Biloxi Regional Airport at 12:15 PM for a 2:00 PM Departure. Check in was Great. Nice Agents, and it went smooth. I only had one bag to check so it wasn't much trouble. I went through the security checkpoint, and proceeded to Gate 6 where I sat down in the chair and ate some Hot Dogs, and Pecan Spins while waiting on my plane. It came in at 1:24 PM and I checked the Registration. WOW, According to Bill Harms' Census, This plane was only 2 months old. When they called my row for boarding (11) I boarded and sat in my Designated Assigned Seat (A) Which was a Window seat. Well, The first part of the trip didn't start out too well. Just before we pushed back, This annoying Lady who looked more like a Man with a wig started yakking to me about her grandkids. Well, I didn't mind talking to her but come on, she kept yakking. So before Pushback, I moved back to Row 28 Seat A (Window) There I listened to the ever so quiet BR715-A130 Start up, which was an amazing sound (Expected on a RR Engine). We taxied to Runway 14 where we stopped for a minute while the Captain Announced our Flight Path, and the sightseeing landmarks which I already knew about. We took off on time at 2:05 PM and I was Literally JOLTED in my seat because of the overpowered engines. 18,500 X 2 can really be felt compared to the DC9s 14,000 X 2. We had a smooth flight, and I had a Minute Maid Apple Juice in an 11.5 Ounce Can. We landed 15 minutes early in Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. Some parts of the Airport (Like NWA Terminal E, Where Airtran is located) was nice, but the AA Terminal was a little run down. I disembarked, and collected my Baggage, and said goodbye to that beautiful 717.

I proceeded to the American Airlines Ticket Counter and got my luggage checked by the ever so friendly agents...NOT!!!!!. They actually snared at me, checked my luggage and practically threw my back on the belt. Well, Good Afternoon to you too.  Angry. Anyway, I proceeded to Gate C-14 after going through Security. Boarding Began Immediately. This MD-83 was very Clean... And Smelly... AHHHHH, I Love that Coffee and Oxygen Smell. We took off on time at 5:45 PM and at 6:00 PM We got our Service. Now, I asked the F/A if I could have an Apple Juice, and the little snot gave me a bunch of Hogwash saying "We're Out... SORRY!!!" Well, At the time I was about to ask for an Orange Juice, The Senior F/A came up to me and said "Here you are." and snared at the younger attendant and sent her up to the front cabin... Oooh, I feel sorry for those First Class people  Acting devilish Anyway, We landed at 6:30 in SAT where I collected my luggage and met my Cousin and his way past cool MAZDA MIATA and We went to his house 2 miles away from the airport where I unpacked and got on his roof and watched SOUTHWE... FLYING PEANUTS Go By.

I Check in at the Ticket Counter with the Great, and Friendly Agents who treated my luggage with Care. (It must be something about the lovely San Antonio Air) and he gave me my Boarding Pass. Well, I expected an MD80 and... Lo and Behold, an MD-90-30 Pulls up. My Jaw Dropped an Unexpected 500 Feet (For those without a sense of humor, this is an expression)
.(WOWEEE!!! an MD90. I was excited. Anyway, They called my Row 10 and I sat in My Window seat. The engines made a weird sound before starting, and they were as quiet as the 712. We took off on time at 12:10 P.M. and Service was splendid. Why on Earth did we get Lunch) (A Meal)  Smile/happy/getting dizzy. And Why on Earth was I on a West Coast plane. I drank my Minute Maid Apple Juice. We landed in Dallas on Time at 12:56 P.M. I proceeded to the last segment of my flight

I Proceeded to the Gate after getting Directions to the E. Terminal from an Ever So Friendly NWA ARJ Captain whom I talked to before going to Gate Check In. I asked him questions about his plane. I asked him about service, and ETC. Anyway, I went to the Friendly Airtran Agent who checked my bag and gave me a boarding pass (I requested the rear area of the plane for 2 reasons. Mainly because I Love the Quietness back there) We took off on time, but this 717 was in need of maintenance. the Light Cover was coming off and I could clearly see the SYLVANIA Light Bulb. :-( Come on Airtran, You can do better than that.  Angry Anyway, The Flight was Smooth and the Captain was Over-Arrogant on his BRAND NEW PLANE. I had a FLORIDA's NATURAL GROWERS' PRIDE Apple Juice which was DELICIOUS. >SLURPS< (Sorry for the bad manners guys). They also offered Biscoffs. The Flight Attendants were Very Nice, and I talked to them in flight. We landed on time in GPT where the Thrust Reverse was applied, and If I hadn' t had my seat belt on, I would've ended up in Row 23. I disembarked from Gate 6 and met my mother there who was impressed with the shinyness of the new 717-200. We picked up my baggage and went home.

Overall, I loved the Airtran Flights, Both of them. Even though N940AT Had the missing Light Cover, I didn't pay much attention because it wasn't like the pilot could just leave the cockpit to fix a light.

And this is my trip report. Needless to say, I flew on all McDonnell Douglas Manufactured Aircraft, and Not Boeing. If you have any more questions, Do not Hesitate to email me.
