This is my first TR here...and yes, I did go to Disneyland and California Adventure after this flight.
Unfortunately I don't have any pics from the return flight (LAX-SEA) due to a camera battery outage.

Cruise Altitude: FL390
Our flight departed from gate N1 at the sunny time of 6:50 in the morning. The weather was really nice outside.

Tacoma came into view barely 15 minutes after takeoff.

A vortex coming off of the end of the flaps is slightly visible during final approach.
Just after landing on runway 15. We had a late touchdown and the pilots applied heavy brakes along with the regular reverse thrust.
Arrival time was 9:17am at gate 4.

You have a great point that I wondered myself. This trip was for band and organized by a travel agent. There were two groups: The first (mine) flew into BUR and out of LAX and the other into LAX and out of BUR. On the first and last days, we were in LA and the last in Hollywood, which made the airports a little closer to where we were on those days.
Going was pretty nice. There was beautiful weather and the flight was smooth. Coming back on the 18th was pretty nice. It was quite turbulent because we were skimming clouds during cruise (FL350) and ran into some solid overcast weather from FL300 down to about 6,000ft with rain pouring the entire time.

EDIT: I'd also like to point out that I mistakenly said that we landed on runway 15. It should have said runway 8 because we made a right turn off the far end directly into the terminal. That wouldn't have been possible with a runway 15 landing.
I don't know, it seemed about normal for me. My friend had a plane at BUR parked at Hangar 1A, shown here (at the center of the map) http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=3...67&spn=0.002006,0.004828&t=h&z=18, and I used to just sit there with him and watch planes before we took his plane up. You'd be surprised how far down they touch down. Sounds like a good time, though.
