Date: November 24, 2001
Airline: Continental
Aircraft: Boeing 777-200
Route: Houston/Intercontinental to Newark International
Duration: Two hours and forty minutes

After flying on an uneventful 737-300 flight from New Orleans to IAH, I boarded a 777, flight 50, to Newark. This was my first time on a CO 777, and I was very impressed. I had seat 35A on the big bird, giving me a great view of the sprawling wingspan. We pushed back on time and were airborne shortly therafter, with a nearly full flight, at least 95%. Takeoff was amazing, albeit a bit bumpy. After takeoff, the PTV entertainment started, and I was satisfied with the selection. I played some video games and watched "Evolution", a pretty good movie. Lunch consisted of a cheeseburger, bag of chips, a smores bar, and some carrots....not too shabby! Certainly much better then the small sandwhich which I got on the 737-300 from EWR to MSY a week before. We landed about 35 minutes early in Newark, where I transferred to an ERJ to PVD. Overall I was impressed by Continental, and I just love the 777!

Seems like you had a very pleasant trip with the boeing 777. I also love this airplane. It's my favourite one. Glad to hear that Continental is still serving meals on domnestic flights, compare to Delta which offers meals only after a flight duration of at least 3 hours, which is very bad for an airline like delta. Next spring I will fly with Continental from Zürich to Florida.

YOU ARE KIDDING ME!

I was on the same flight - except in seat 10A up in BusinessFirst.

Wow - what a small world....

As a CO Gold Elite, I get unlimited free companion upgrades, so if I had known you were on board you could've ridden up front with me for free. Ah well... too bad  Sad

Yea, but if there a lot of Platinums, you can forget it.

There were hardly a handful of elites on the flight. I had a nonrev sitting next to me and counted at least 6 other NRSAs up front, so the companion upgrade would've been no biggie.

Thanks for the upgrade offer, that's mighty nice of ya.  Smile My next CO flight will be on 12/21 from PVD to MSY (73G and 735), then returning on 1/6 via IAH and CLE (M80, 738, and ERJ).

Have a safe and happy holiday season!

Hey, who wants to have some Airliners.net baggage tags made, like Flyertalk has, so that us fellow members can recognize one another in situations like these?  Smile

I am glad that you liked our aircraft! I am a Continental flight attendant, and I love when I am on the 777. This aircraft is so incredible. I can hardly notice when we are moving. Usually, I am working a position in economy, which has my jumpseat position over door 3 (one of 4 jumpseats), and I cannot believe how smooth this aircraft lands! Before, I was always a DC-10 fan, but the 777 has won my heart.

I like the 777 too cause I rode on both United and American and it looks like Continental was the best out of the three.

MSYTristar --
Let me know when you'll be in Cleveland... On the other hand, I guess I can't meet you out at the concourse anymore, so scratch that. But have a good flight and enjoy our newest concourse, Concourse D.
