For those who are interested, I've included some pictures and stories from the trip. If you're just looking for the flight and those pictures just skip down.

The following pictures are from an orphanage in Montego Bay. It was amazing to see the energy and love that these kids had and how much they loved being around us.
This kid was pretty awesome at soccer...until he kicked on the roof and tried to make me go get it

Group picture by the beach
A little dark but still a good picture I think

Yes that is a crab in our hotel toilet

An old church in Falmouth, Jamaica

Another group from Bradenton, FL met us in Montego Bay and was there during the middle of our trip. On the morning of there departure our group leader got the bright idea that we should go down to the runway and stand behind their plane as it took off (there is a hole in the fence and it is very easy to get close with no security issues...similar to SXM). As their AA 757 came closer to us I began to freak out not knowing what would happen. We were so close we could clearly see the pilots wave. As the plane was taking off I could definately feel the force of the powerful aircraft but it was not as scary as I expected. I didn't think anyone had gotten hurt....until....I turned around and saw one of my friends with blood all down his leg. Apparently he stood up and turned too fast and gashed his leg open on a peice of rebar sticking out of the ground. Long story short he went and got stitches and is fine...now he has and interesting story. I can say now that this was one of the craziest things I've ever done!

After 10 days in Jamaica it was time to come home. Our team had been through a lot during this time. We had a lot of bad sickness and many other hurdles but it just brought us closer and we were ready to get home.

Cleaning up our room for the last time
Arriving at Sangster Internation Airport

Check-in went smoothly and we made it through immigration and security with plenty of time to spare.
You know what that means...plenty of time to play on moving sidewalks!!

MBJ really is a great airport, full of plenty of food options and shops

Seat: 33D

They began boarding and finally called my zone. I got on the plane and took my seat in 33D. I was beside a young couple that I didn't know (probably coming back from their honeymoon). They continued to board for a little while before we pushed back and started up, and of course...the DL safety video. As we taxied out to runway 7 we could all see the infamous spot of our morning run. I was scary to see just how close we actually were. We turned onto the runway and did a "turn and go" takeoff. This was probably one of the greatest takeoffs that I've ever experienced. It was so smooth yet still extremely powerful...of course we were on a 757!

Just after takeoff (I had a friend taking all these pictures)
Not long into the flight

The flight attendents came around with the cabin service, I chose to stick with the penut m&ms this time. There were a couple more sitcoms shown on the 3 hour flight which I only watched a little of.

Before I knew it we were on approach into ATL followed by a nice smooth landing. We were all celebrating being back on American soil as we taxied into concourse E.

Just after landing

I can't describe the feeling as we stepped off that plane. We had a great time in Jamaica but we were so glad to be going home after such a long and hard trip. As I walked through the upper level to immigration something just gave me a comforting feeling...sorry I'm going off and another weird moment.

We made it through immigration very quick with now problem at all and made our way down to baggage claim. Our flight was combined with another flight from Athens so it took a while to get our luggage.

After getting through customs and security and rechecking our luggage we had about an hour until they wanted us at the gate. So me and some friends decided we would just go ride the tram for fun. We got on at E and rode all the way to T and back. I even got dissed by a lady on the tram...it was kind of random

*Actual Conversation*
automated tram voice: "Next stop is concourse D, D for David"
my friend: "I thought it was D for Delta"
radom lady: "thats what I thought"
me: "maybe they don't want to confuse it with the airline Delta"
random lady: "smart thinking...thats unusual for a guy"
my other friend: "wow she must be a feminist"

So after we got off the tram I decided it was time for some American food so my friend and I went to Arby's in concourse E
First American meal in 10 days
On the way back to the gate we came across this massive line of military boarding an Omni DC10. This picture only shows about 1/2 the line!

So we decided it was time to head back to the gate and settle down
A nice game of Signs to pass the time

Comin' to carry me home!

The agent finally began to call boarding for flight 5858 to GSO. We could hardly wait and we all jumped up and got in line. The plane was parked in a remote stand so we had to go downstairs and walk outside to the bus that would take us to the plane.

Walking out to the bus
When I look at this picture it reminds me of the beauty of flight

Seat: 17A

To quote one of my friends: "I feel so VIP right now"

I boarded the plane and sat in seat 17A. Fianlly a window!!!
Concourse E as we pulled out

We taxied out to runway 26L, lined up and took off. Finally we were on our way home!

Again this was a short 50 minute hop up to GSO, The FAs barely had enough time to do drink service. We landing right on time about 10:00 and we were greeted by our families anxiously awaiting our arrival.

Finally my own, sweet American bed!

Again we had a great trip on Delta. Our flights were always on time, the planes were always in great condition, and Atlanta is probably one of my favorite airports to connect at. Last year on AA we had to deal with delays, an old run down A300, and of course Miami International Airport at its worst. The contrast was amazing and DL is still my favorite domestic carrier.

Hope you enjoyed reading. It brought back a lot of memories writing it. If theres anything I can do to improve just let me know! Thanks!

Nice report! Looks like N187PQ is going to be a hot registration in trip reports. I flew on it just a couple weeks ago, and now I just have to write up my report. I had seat 18D--not far apart. So I can relate very well with that plane. You got a hardstand boarding though. I haven't had the chance to do so yet.  Sad
