Reason for trip
As usual, another business trip for me, but as my wife was following this time round, we decided to also spend an extra 2 days in Milan, thus also giving me the chance to try out LH Italia from BCN to MXP.

Pre Flight
Normally I stopped writing on the short hops from CGK-KUL-BKK unless something out of the blue turns up, and this time it was an equipment change from the usual B772 to an A346. As usual had lunch with a friend in KL during the few hours we had here before heading back to the airport and after checking, its just relaxing at the lounge. They did further renovations to the lounge which is mainly a much nicer and better internet and pc area. Did not take any pics as the lounge was filled up to the brim.
Inflight
As usual, F cabin left empty for the BKK sector. J and Y full to the brim. I really love the A346, would really like to spend more time flying in them.
Looking into F cabin, sorry didn’t really take any pics of the actual J seats, but they are basically 1st gen lie flats as seen in my other TR’s on the A345/6
Menu and catering
Meals for this sector looks good. Crew were diligent and efficient, but as usual looked tired, even in J cabin. One thing about these 1st gen BE Aerospace lie flats is that the seat belts always get caught easily!
Watched an episode of World Café Asia during the meal
The flight itself went pretty smoothly and we touched down 15min ahead of schedule.
Service: 7/10
Food: 6/10

Flight Time: 11hrs 00min
Preflight
As usual, spend some down time at the Royal Orchid Spa before parking my tired butt in the Royal First Lounge.
Sanctuary of the Royal First Smoking Room in the Lounge
After that it was just relaxing till we were picked up by the hose to take us to the aircraft.
Inflight
Back in familiar surrounds of a TG B744 F cabin, cabin views, menu and amenities
It was just the normal routine for me, which was settle in, have a meal, watched some videos on my laptop and then its just sleeping all the way to FRA.
Always my favourite part of every flight, meal time
About 2 hours out of FRA, I woke up to an almost bright sky outside and after washing up, breakfast was served
Cabin with the slight glare of the morning light
Frankfurt, here I come…..again ….and …..again!
Flight itself was pretty smooth except for the usual pockets of turbulence over Pakistan. Another great cvrew serving us and load was pretty light too with F only 50% filled up.
FRA starting to get busy in the early morning
Service: 10/10
Food: 10/10

ATA: 1210
Flight Time: 1hr 43min
Preflight
Getting bored with Fraport. We just browsed the shops a little before sitting in the boring Senator lounge at the A gates. Flight itself was also delayed by 15mins. A 100% sold out flight this time.
14 year old D-AIRM waiting for us
Tails and tails of LH narrowbodies going all over Europe
After taking pics at the gate, and boarding not yet called, I decided to go back to the Senator lounge and got a nice surprise, Air India and their new B773ER
Inflight
Departure was delayed due to bad weather at FRA.
Cabin views and a rainy day outside
I was pretty upset I couldn’t get a pic of HS-TGL that took me to FRA as in BKKtty tired so right after take off I managed to doze off for awhile.
Meal time
Besides that, rest of my time was just spent looking out the window and watching some videos on my laptop.
Hello Barcelona
We landed at the new Terminal 1 for Star Alliance at BCN. But the bad part of this short but nice hop from FRA was that it took more than 30mins for the luggage to come out.
Service: 7/10

Hi boss. May I know which lounge is this? The Satellite or Regional? Better internet and PC area, so the renovation took place inside the Business Center?

Hi Big Boss....its the TG Royal Orchid lounge, so the location is in the Satellite C, they had a major refurbishment lasting almost 6mths from late last yer till recently.
Quoting SASDC8 (Reply 2): Which dinner choice did you have on TG 920?
Quoting SASDC8 (Reply 2): Did you return on TG MXP-BKK?
Hi Stein! Had the Guilin Prawns which were absolutely delicious....and yup...I flew back with TG's new B772ER from MXP to BKK, will bost the return sector in the next day or so.
Quoting Nicholaschee (Reply 3): I would love to give TG F/J a try in the near future (when I get sick of SQ )
Hi Nic...I guess as I was born and bred in Singapore...(till I left for Perth) I flew SQ so much ...(my parents are still die hard SQ fans..and are already both Solitaire life members).....that till about 4 years ago i got bored ehehhe..so tried TG..loved it and stayed loyal to it....so it meant that I also lost first my SOlitaire status with Krisflyer..then downgraded to PPS...then lost it entirely as I am solely on TG's ROP program now....but I do the odd SQ flight here and there...but just use my TG ROP for the points accumulation anyways.

Duh, I guess I had a blonde moment when I posted the earlier reply. You must be laughing at me for referring to the 2 MH's Golden Lounges in KUL - of course it was the TG Royal Orchid Lounge as you were flying TG (what am I thinking?)!
And I am not a big boss mind you, you are bigger LOL!

Quoting Abrelosojos (Reply 8): Thanks for a wonderful trip report. I need to fly TG again. Flew them way back on an exotic routing from DAC to BKK to SEL on a M11.
Thanks for the nice comments! I am also about to read up on your latest TR's to IST ....really love the way you write them !!

Great trip report and excellent pics of the food. It looks wonderful only the sausage for breakfast looked completely raw. I'm sure it's only the pic though. Ooooo that caviar plate looks a good size.
Tg is really generous with their caviar servings, i usually even have 2nd rounds
Quoting Comeflywithme (Reply 11): Nice to see another TG F report - I loved TG and despite hearing mixed reviews have only good things to say about them.
What I can say is that TG is really consistent on their F service, however, in J, hey are notorious for being either good, boring or just bad.

Another great trip,thanks for sharing.
Food always looks good on these TG reports, really must give them a long haul trip one day.
Hi Mark, thanks again for reading, anyways, with regard to the equipment change, I have gotten the A346 3 times now in he past 5 trips between BKK-KUL and vice versa where the original equipment should have been a B772A.
FLying off to FRA again on 14 Sep, will keep you posted on what I get !
