EK025 Dubai-Munich Y Class A330
Sch. Departure: 0805 Act. Departure: 0825
Sch. Arrival: 1145 Act. Arrival: 1159
FT: 6 hours 34 minutes

My family woke up at around 0530, 30 minutes behind schedule! We arrived at the airport at around 0635. The airport was not as busy as I thought it would be. We were given our boarding passes at around 0700 and we rushed to the gate where boarding was supposed to start at 0720. The waiting area was quite full. Boarding started at 0730 and we pushed back almost promptly at 0806. At 0800 the crew passed out hot towels and the menu, which had the new design (it has Burj al Arab on it). Ahead of us was an EK A330 and behind us an Ethiopian B757. I saw the B773 take off for LHR, what a view that was! Take off was at 0825 and it was very fast because of the light load. There were only 86 people in economy. I asked the F/A about the load in J/F and she said that the purser wouldn't allow her to give me the exact numbers because of security reasons. From what I could tell both were as empty as economy. The crew spoke the following languages: English, Arabic, Hindi, Thai, Spanish, Africaans and Korean. We cruised at 39,000 feet all the way to MUC. 20 minutes after take off the crew passed out a continental breakfast which consisted of a criossant, a danish, perserves and a fruit appetizer (grapes, pineapple, watermelon and melon). At 10:30 (DXB time) we were served drinks. Also at 1215 we were served drinks again. Lunch service started at 1235. We had a choice between lamb casserole and deep fried German chicken. Both came with a salad, a roll of bread and passion fruit cake. The food was alright, it wasn't great. One of the crew was extremely BITCHY. She tried to be impolite with my father, which isn't a good thing. He had a long chat with another F/A and in the end we were given a complimentary bottle of wine. The seats were the most uncomfortable seats that I have ever been on. The lumbar support is so uncomfortable. The padding is as hard as a rock, if not harder. The seats are a big NO-NO. Anyways our flight path took us over the Persian Gulf, Saudi, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Mediterranean Sea, Turkey, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Austria and finally Germany! the headwind was very strong and at one point it reached 127 Km/hr. Descent started at 1430(DXB time) and we touched down 14 minutes late at 1159(MUC time). We parked at the gate at 1207 next to a Condor B767 that had just arrived from Havana, and next to a US B767, a UA B767, TK B737. The entertainment was very good. There were 18 channels and 14 games! I watched the rat race and original sin. Both were boring movies! In conclusion, Emirates is a good airline, but I've said it before and I'll say it again; it lacks the professionalism of other airlines such as BA, SQ, etc. Also, the airline is definately overrated. Thanks for reading the report and sorry about the length of the report.

(I have been to Salzburg, Munich and Stuttgart so far. I'll be off to Paris on the 30th. Stay tuned for the return trip report!)

I found the seats to be very uncomfortable. I was uncomfortable all the way to Munich. I'm in Stuttgart at the moment and I'm leaving tomorrow morning to Paris with a train. I really like Stuttgart, it's way better than Munich IMO!
