First of all I'd like to start off this trip report by saying that Paris is an amazing city. It's definately unique. It's really something else!

My family and I arrived at the aerogare 1 at around 1215 for the 1430 departure. It was a miracle considering we were shopping at 11 o'clock on the Champs Elysees and our hotel was in Port Bercy. Anyway the check in agent was nice but couldn't get us a window seat. That pissed me off but it wasn't her fault. The aircraft arrived 15 minutes late from Dubai at 1300 and boarding started at 1403. Boarding was scheduled for 1330 however. Inside the airplane we managed to get a window seat and that's when I knew that our flight would be one to remember. Pushback was at 1439. I got to see many airplanes at CDG including AF's new A330, B744's, B737's, B767's, A320's, F100's, CRJ's, Embraer's, CX 747, AA B767's, DL 777& 2 MD11's, AH B767, US A330, UA B777, CO B777, MU A340, AC A330, JAL B744, RO B73G, RG MD11, etc. CDG is truly an international airport. The airplane had 183 pax in economy, 42 in business class and 18 in first class; basically it was full in every class. However there were a few F/A's non-reving and the family of a pilot non-reving as well. Menus were distributed 20 minutes after take off. The cabin crew spoke the following languages; English, French, Arabic, Hindi, Persian, Italian and Slovaki. 15 minutes later, a drink service was started. Our route took us over Geneva then over to Milan, all of Italy (where it got dark), over the Ionion Sea, into Greece (just South of Athens), directly over the island of Milos, south of Mikinos(sp?), over the Mediterranean Sea, over Cyrpus, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Saudi and finally over the Persian Gulf. 1 hour and 10 mins after take off the dinner service was commenced along with a drink service. I had the chicken. The food was delicious and very filling. The F/A's kept coming around with drinks at frequent intervals. Cruising altitude was at first 37,000 feet but we gradually climbed to 41,000 feet. Our ground speed was on average 1,000 km/hr due to a (again on average) 100 km/hr tailwind. The flight attendants were great. All of them were friendly and I spent a lot of time in the back chatting with them, as well as with other pax. This flight was a great way to end a vacation. One of the flight attendants took a picture of me (with an instant camera). The friendliest one was the Iranian one, those Iranians are real polite people! We made up for the time lost and landed early at exactly midnight, 15 minutes ahead of schedule. At DXB there two Srilankan A330's side by side, plenty of EK planes, a Royal Brunei B767, PIA A310, GF A320, etc. The landing was the second worst landing I've ever experienced (1st was on BA).
