Hello all, this is my first trip report so spare me
This report will be covering my recent flight back to Buffalo, Ny on December 10th, 2009 from Orlando.
My first semester at Embry-Riddle was great to say the least; I had met some amazing people, participated in various organizations and took some classes with some great professors who actually know what their talking about (except Math...what a joke she was!). There were some bad times though and I unfortunatley lost a friendship with a fellow anetter.
But, all good things must come to an end and on December 10th, I was heading home to the tundra I call home, Buffalo New York... I woke up past my check out time of 12:00 that day and had to quickly get ready and hunt my R.A. down so I would not get checked out "incorrectly". By the time I found her, she already had done so but said she would change it back.
After I got done with all the Riddle Bullcrap....I finished packing up my things and a buddy of mine had picked me up and we took to the streets on the 1 and a half hour drive to the good ol' MCO.
We arrive at Orlando International at about 2:30 and I checked in flawlessley...I surpassed some of the tourist who have no clue as to what they are doing and were waiting in a HUGE line up all thinking they MUST speak to an agent to check in...anyways...check-in was completed and I proceded to security.
Security must have changed at MCO in the 2 weeks I havent been there (stay tuned for my Thanksgiving TR). It seems as though, GOAA added the "new" TSA lanes for experienced travellers and family travellers. I, of course took advantage of the experienced lane and waited a good 10 minutes. I turned out that the Thousands Standingf Around were just doing the "job" they are colliquoly reffered too and not paying attetion; for some reason the family lane was merging with the experienced lane and holding things up pretty badly.
As usual, the business men were rolling their eyes at the fanny-pack carrying, Mickey Mouse ear hatted, travelling with their screaming children tourists and talking smack about them (you got to love the pleasures of travelling through this airport).
I finally made it through se-CURR-ity (think Bon-Qui-Qui) and took the Bombardier tram to the Delta Gates.
I had time to kill so I decided to spot. I only got one picture since my memory was full and onlky deleted a few pictures.
This children is a 747-400 of Virgin Atlantic going to LGW!
More spotting included alot of....Delta, and some more Delta, a dash of Airtran and ALOT of JetBlueAUS's favorite airline...SOUTHWEST!
Anyways onto the actually flight:
Delta flt 1250
MCO-CVG
Aircraft: Originally MD90...Changed to 737-800
Reg: Did not get
Seat 32A
Schduled Departure: 5:05 Actual: 5:07
Schduled Arrival: 6:55 Actual 6:55
The only reason I had originally selected this flight was JUST so I could go on my favourite narrow-body, the MD-90.
When the flight was enroute, the FIDS were displaying a 737-800, I thought this was a mistake but at around 5, a 737-800 had shown up. I was pretty agervated because I could have flown via DTW and gone on a 753.
Oh well at least I was going to have a PTV.
Boarding Pass
Boarding started ontime and we pushed a few minutes behind schedule due to the fact that the my favoruite friends, the Orlando Tourist crew decided to bring huge bags stuffed with miscellaneous souvenirs on the plane with them.
We had a quick taxi via taxiways H4 then H. Our aircraft was number 3 for departure and we took off on Runway 35 L doin the infamous MCO 45 degree departure. We really cruised through the clouds and broke into the beautiful blue skies .
Take off!
IFE was activated a few minutes after departure and I decided to browse through the movies and me just playing around as usual, went on a limb and decided to see what happended when I swipped my school ID "Eagle Card". AND Irtysh-Avia (Kazakhstan)">IT WORKED AND I GOT TO WATCH MY MOVIE!
I figured this would happen as the dont process cards until AFTER the flight is over...
The snack/beverage run follwed closley behind that and I got my obligatory Bloody Mary Mix (except the Vodka because I am only an innocent 19 year old :P). Being a sucker for the snack box, I purchased the "Flight Delights" Snack box and also got some of the famous Biscoffs.
The snack box was well worth the 5 or 6 bucks I paid, and yes,I paid with a real credit card which still has'nt shown up in my bank account LOL.
The rest of the flight was uneventful.
We landed at CVG ontime on Runway 18L and taxied to Concourse B via Taxiways T and docked at concourse B.
Let me just say...CVG is such a amazing airport. It is a very comfortable terminal and isn't too big or too bland. It is such a shame that Delta is de-hubbing this great airport.
Delta flt: 5344 operated by ASA
CVG-BUF
Aircraft: CRJ-200
Reg- did not get
Seat 8D
Departure: 8:15
Arrival 9:10
Following the bad storm in Buffalo, 2 of the other flights that day were cancelled which caused my flight to be oversold. I reliquished my seat and was going to fly to BUF via ATL in first class, get a hotel room and meal vouchers and a 500$ in Delta Dollars.
JUST as they were about to close the flight, they rushed me onto the flight as 1 person was just arriving from a delayed in bound flight.
The flight was nothing to write home about, although the male (flamboyant) flight attendant was a RIOT. He was'nt Southwest chessy, just had a very "gay" sense of humour.
Service was the standard snack and drink service although I got an 2 extra biscoff and a wink. lol
Arrival into Buffalo was turbulent on arrival and we did a downwind approach to runway 23. Taxied to the gate via D, A, A1, and K.
As I exited the aircraft, I told the captain "Nice landing". He looked at my flight bag, seen my ERAU luggage tag and said "Thats cuz I went to 'Riddle" he winked, we both laughed and I made my way up the ice filled jetway and made my way back home.
Thank all for reading, feedback would be GREAT!

I often wonder if those very same business people take there kids on vacation and buy them souvenirs like Mickey Mouse hats. I very much enjoyed your report. Like you I also enjoyed CVG when I changed planes there.

Good report! Flying DL in April, was booked on the CR9 STL-SLC and they upgraded it to MD90! Hope it stays so I can fly it for the first time!

Not all of us can be heroes, some of us can only stand on the sidewalk and clap as they go by.
