Okay so here is what I wanna know...
* How is the serivce on Delta?
* Do you think there will be movies or short features on any of the flights?
* How about a meal? or snack?
* How are these planes? I have been on A boeing 757 before (of USAir back in 94), but never one of delta, or a CRJ, or 767-300ER, or 727ADV
* Past Experiences flying on Delta
(Oh yeah, I live in Rochester, and I am now one of the many people that are traveling to buffalo to get cheaper airfares. Delta wanted like 350.00 to get to FLL from ROC, and with 4 people flying...thats a lot of money!)
Any Info is greatly appreciated!
do what you like . like what you do . life is good

Since your first flight will be on Comair, I really dont know how its gonna go. Your second flight should recieve a cup of a beverage of your choice and a bag of snack mix. When I flew CVG-MCO, they didnt even turn the video system on. I dont know if they will on your flight. On your flight to Atlanta, my guess would be the fast break service or nothing at all. On your last flight, expect a beverage.
I wrote a trip report called "David takes Delta-OMG!" It has many details regarding my flight from CVG-MCO.

hey, thats gret that you;re getting to fly again! I flew on a 767-300 from JFK-LYS on Delta last summer. It was alright. I had a window seat, but the flight was in the night. THe seats are cozy and the service is always good. But don't expect a meal.

Rumor has it that Delta has bad seats- uncomfortable and not much legroom...
Meals are not going to be nice, right now is a bad time for meal service on airlines...
Be glad to fly on one of the final 727s... the rest of us that don't fly very often may never have another chance...
I would love to fly a Canadair, tell us how it is...
757s are quick airplanes... Delta's are powered by Pratt&Whitneys... while US's are powered by Rolls Royce engines.... should be an almost indiscernible difference...
Delta is queen of the 767. So many 767s.
I haven't flown Delta in a long time... so I don't know exactly what to expect, just what I have heard.

What a great sounding trip. All different types of aircraft. Hope you have window seats preassigned?
On the 767 and 757 you may have a short feature video entertainment. You'll like the Canadair jet BUF CVG, it is smaller and you can really feel like your flying.
Also the 727 will be fun, what a classic, sit behind the wing, watch the flaps on takeoff and landing, always awesome and I've flown them for years. The 727, remember it, because after this year you'll most likely have to go to South America to fly on one as they are leaving the fleets.

Nice question Americanmd80. I'm almost taking the same flights as you are. I am leaving from ROC, Buffalo is too far away for me. But I understand, Rochester is a very expensive place to fly from. I'm flying right to Atlanta on the 727, and then onto RSW on the 767. On my way back I get to fly a MD11 !! And then a 727 back to ROC. I already have window seats assigned.
Where is the best place to see planes in ATL. I know everywhere, but can you see the jumbos traveling on to Europe, and Africa, etc. From terminals T, A, and B?
P.S.- Where are the McDonalds located in ATL (terminal)

The CRJ is a nice plane. I've been on 3 of them (all with Comair) and its a nice, quiet little RJ.
The 757 flight- You'll probably have drink service, and you might get to watch some Delta Horizons, a nice little entertainment program with a sitcom, sometimes a music video (Delta VJ) and CNN In-Flight, among other things. I like the 757, It's a really neat plane, and I always look forward to flying on it.
I've never been on the 767-300ER. I've been on a few 767-300s, and they were pretty nice.
The 727 is a classic! Have fun on the 727!! I hope I'll wind up on another one!! You'll probably get drink service there. The 727s are nice planes.
CVG isn't a bad airport. I haven't been to the main terminals since '98, so I don't remember much about it. And I only got to sit in the Comair terminal for a few minutes in 2000, because of a tight connection, so I can't help you there.
ATL is my all-time favorite airport!!!! I LOVE it there. If you have time, try and go to Concourse E. It's totally different than the rest of the airport. Plus, there are now TV monitors at each Delta gate, (except in Concourse E) which tell you the approximate boarding times, aircraft info, current weather in your arrival city, etc.
-And for whoever asked above, there are no McDonald's locations at ATL.
A Burger King in each terminal, and a few Wendy's spread out throughout the airport. They don't have Chicken Nuggets, if that's what your looking for- I tried already.

well ive flown on 11 Delta flights. They are a great airline. On the 767-300 i went on, it was a little old and dirty, i flew it MCO-CVG. i flew on a CRJ once CVG-IAD. Very nice flight, FA comes around with a basket of stuff. just a tip... use the pink-tag service at Comair for your carry-on, if it's anything bigger than a purse. Their 757-200 is great, I flew ORD-ATL, ATL-ORD, SLC-ORD on DL 752s. Great Aircraft.
Overall I am sure you will like this trip. ATL is a great airport too, huge and all-Delta. I see you have 42 minutes in ATL, hope for no delays, because if your flights are far apart from each other, it may take you 15 minutes to get from your gate to the next.
