Reason for Trip
Barely back for 48 hours from my Los Angeles trip with CX, I am not yet embarking on another business trip to Lisbon for a product launch. The night before my flight, I was still having my jetlag! Anyways this was really one business trip that I was a bit reluctant to go as I was physically really tired, plus a backlog of work means, work is coming a long with me. At least the shining light is that I will be flying in my usual confines of Thai’s Royal First Class.

Preflight
After spending the entire day in KL. By the time I got onto the last flight, I was so tired that I slept all the way into BKK. Because of the short connection time in BKK, I could get my massage from the Royal Orchid Spa. I opted to take take a nice refreshing shower and also grab a quick bite at the unusually 100% full Royal First Lounge.
One of the best airline lounge in the world, Royal First Class Lounge in BKK
And I also had some soup and pad thai
Inflight
As expected, 100% full in F, and by the looks of it, in all other classes too. Thai Royal First has always been my sanctury, but after my LAX trip last week with CX suites, I really prefer that now, as it really gives you a great sense of privacy. The fa's really have their job cut out of them on this really full flight.
This is home for me most of the time I am in the air
You guys realize that HSBC is almost on every aerobridge around the world’s main airports?
Orient Thai, awaiting its next flight to HKG in the morning
Our route for the day
And my favourite part of every flight, the inflight meal, and I pre ordered the Beef Fillet before my flight
The problem with me is that, I always watch so many movies during the weekend when I am home, is that by the time I am flying, I have almost seen most of the movies or nothing ever catches my eye, therefore the best thing for me is just to watch sitcoms and tv shows on my laptop
After watching a few episodes of Two and a Half Men, I slept for most of the way, till breakfast was about to be served
In no time we landed in Frankfurt, and its time to head outside for a cigarette and enjoy the cool morning air, and after that its 4 hours before my next flight to Liscbon.

After arrival into Frankfurt I grabbed a bite at McDonalds before parking myself at the Senator lounge, which as usual was overly packed. Walked to the gate 5 mins before boarding commenced and I managed to snap pics of the bird taking us to LIS
Inflight
Nothing much to talk about on ur regular intra europe flight. Will just let the pics do the talking for me.

Preflight
After a tiring 4 days of meetings and conferences, its now time to head back home. Transfers that were arranged for us took us into Lisbon airport way ahead of ETA as we arrived 2.5 hrs before ETA.
Nothing much to do in this pretty boring airport. Just walked around the shops before parking myself in the TAP Star Alliance lounge. One thing about this airport is that it has pretty narrow walkways in the airside area, which makes it pretty cramped.
TAP Lounge, at least its much nicer in ambience than LH’s
Our bird to Frankfurt
Inflight
The usual friendly and efficient LH service was as ever present. Only 3 rows used for J today. The meal was not too bad and also quite filling.
We managed to make up for some lost time during the flight due to favourable tailwinds. Besides that the flight inself was uneventful.
Frankfurt (FRA) - Bangkok (BKK)

ETA: 1245+1
Seat: 1K (Royal First Class)
Flight Time: 9hr 37min
Preflight
We had practically 4 hours to kill in Frankfurt before the next flight. We just walked around and checked out the newly renovated shopping mall downstairs. And further on we walked around the departures area. About 2 hours before ETA we went thru security, passport control and airside. I had to get some tax free refunds done. After which we just relaxed in the Senator lounge. Surprisingly this time round it wasn't too busy and we managed to get seats. I even managed to get a refreshing shower. Nothing much to talk about the showers though. Very basic and does the job. Although for a First Class lounge I was pretty bemused that the shower tap was those push-timed ones. Not very classy indeed. Oh well, after all its a LH lounge and efficiency is the name of the game. As I looked out the windows from the Senator Lounge, I saw our bird right below us. HS-TGK is the same bird that flew me into Frankfurt a few days earlier.
Didn't wait for the customer relations agent to get me. I left a little earlier before boarding to get a quick last cigarette for the next 12 hours.
Inflight
Flight is not too full today with only 3 pax in F and about 85% full in J and Y.
Air Dolomite E-190
Lusthansa CRJ-200 with some cute cartoon scheme
Time to go home
As usual I had pre-ordered my meal and it was pretty good.
Watched some shows on my laptop and after the meal I managed to sleep all the way till 1hr20mins before landing. Since I had a pretty long layover in Bangkok, I decided only to have some fruits and yoghurt. I will just pig out at the TG Royal First Lounge in Bangkok.
Another great and excellent flight by TG.

Very nice report again and very nice pics ! Thai First looks really good!
I've heard the LIS is getting a new airport in a few years so the airport experience there should be improved a lot.

Senator lounge is not a First class lounge. LH operates separate First class lounges and First class terminal, but only LH First class passangers and HON's are allowed in.

Hey dude great TR as usual and I'm sure you were very happy being back in familiar surroundings on TG?! I'm not surprised that you were tired after just coming back from LAX. What kind of job do you have to do this kind of travelling?!
TG looks fabulous as usual and the First Class is very comfortable. Food looked very nice although I might have to give CX the nod ahead of TG in this department.
The only disappointment looks like the LH part, having to share the lounge with so many people. You'd think that LH would have a seperate lounge for F passengers.

= LOL. I was thinking exactly the same the other day ... worse part was I don't recall which airport it was at!
Hmmm ... I am a little underwhelmed by TG's F-class. As you say, I am sure it is the soft product that wins ... but the hard product looks very dated. It is VERY LH F-like to me!
Thanks for sharing. I have not been on TG a LONG time ... last was a wonderful BKK-DAC flight on a D10 (I think ... or M11).

- I think these pictures so hot on the heels of your CX F report really show how dated the TG F product is.
Seems the LH lounge @ FRA is too small and lack ameneties, we never seem to hear anything good about them.

Quoting nethkt (Reply 7): Only if the F cabin and seats are upgraded to the private suite bandwagon!!!
Sigh...I only wish that is true one day ...and i hope that one day comes really soon
Quoting nethkt (Reply 7): Hope THAI doesn't embarrass itself with cheap and lousy items!!
Ermm actually they are pretty bad, i just came back from HK to days ago on GA on their new A332, and trust me, even GA has a much better amenity kit which are items from Aigner
Quoting abrelosojos (Reply 8): was thinking exactly the same the other day ... worse part was I don't recall which airport it was at!
How about this, lets keep in eye out on all airports we go and report to each other which ones that has aerobridges do not have HSBC on them ! ......

You are 100% correct on this. Although I still can sleep comfortably on TG F, its now extremely outdated compared to CX and SQ suites. Mainly for me its the lack of privacy.

Hi Mark.....you are really right on this note.....lets just see what TG does on their A380 (if they ever arrive)

I just noticed I had the EXACT same seat on the EXACT same plane, HS-TJS on my 26th June BKK-SIN flight! Should be my first time to have "shared" a seat with a fellow a.netter.
