Reason for Trip
After back to back business trips, I decided to embark on a quick 3 day holiday for Easter weekend in Hong Kong. Really need to enjoy some good dining and soul food for 3 days. Another ulterior motive is that I always wanted to try GA’s brand new A332 in J. I will also make a side trip to Macau, going there from Hong Kong with the Premier Turbo Jet, and back with a helicopter transfer!

We got to the airport about 2 hours before the ETD and roads were generally free, although in the airport it was clearly a mess! There were just scores of people everywhere, I have never even seen immigration so packed.
Thank god for the Saphire membership which allowed me to bypass immigration and the crowd. After that we just relaxed in the Hsbc Premier lounge until its time to board.

For some reason boarding was called 45mins before ETD and when we got to the gates there was barely anyone there. Oh well, I guess they want to prevent Indonesians being late as they are well for being late!

As I figured the flight was delayed by around 20mins due to many passengers still being stuck at immigration. But amazingly the flight itself wasn't really full. J was about 60% and economy about 85%. But from what I can visually see, CX was 100% full.

The flight itself was pretty good. Although the IFE did not have an airshow. I was pretty surprised by this. We landed in Hong Kong just 5 mins before ETA so we made up for time in the air.

In between our short trip, we managed a side trip to Macau and we came back from Mcau via helicopter transfers, 12 mins sure beats the 1 hr ferry!

My 72 hours in Hong Kong for Easter ended quickly and before I knew it, I was already on the way back to HKIA. Arrived 2 hours before departure and it was quiet at check in.
We immeditaely went airside and decided to spend some time in the lounge and also to buy magazines and do some window shopping.
Walking to the lounge and also saw our bird just offloading pax before taking us onboard back to CGK
Aircraft for today is GPH which is GA's very first A332 delivered.
Economy was full whereas business was just around 80%.

Nothing much to talk about on the return leg as I was pretty tired and soon after the meal service I managed to get some shut eye all the way till top of descent into Jakarta. For me, being on GA’s new product was very refreshing, and I will definitely fly them again on international routes as long as the new aircraft were being operated.

Ah yes... HSBC Premier Lounge is one of the few airline lounges (perhaps it is the only one??) at CGK which has a view of the tarmac outside. Although I was rather intrigued to be asked by the waiter if I wanted to have a freshly made egg omelette at 6pm in the evening! Was the omelette station active that morning? Hahahaha...

Yes we do, and the good part is that the lounge is always quiet, really a nice sanctury to be in before boarding is called!

actually when you look at it in real life, its much nicer and also really refreshig. when u look at an aircraft still with the old cs parked next to one with the new livery, you can really see the difference
