I took the florida trip this past April for srping break at my family's condo:
PHL-FLL
US Airways Boeing 757-200 in New colors
Flight 2331
April 23, Easter Sunday
Estimated Departure: 6:15am
Estimated Arrival: 8:58am

I live in A New Jersey subburb of New York City and I had been informed only about 10 days before easter that we were still going to take this trip. So i went online and couldn't get any cheap fares from EWR, JFK, or LGA but i found a perfect US Airways PHL flight to Fort Lauderdale on 757's. Only about $230. Since the flight was leaving in the morning we drove down to Philly the night before and stayed in a hotel next to the airport.
4:30am!!- Me and my family woke up and got ready to go to the airport on the 5-minute shuttle ride. Got downstairs to get the shuttle at about 5:00am. The shuttle didnt leave until about 5:20am and we barely even got a seat on it, i think that everyone was flying on the same US flight as us. We arrive at the airport at about 5:45 and had to make a mad dash to the gate for 6:00am boarding. We made it but i had to go without food since there is a severe lack of food stands in Philadelphia Airport. My seat was 31F. Back of the plane, damn. My sister and my dad sat next to me and my mom was a little farther up.
We pushed back at about 6:30, 5 minutes late and taxied straight to the runway in less than 5 minutes. We were the first plane of the day to take off i think. Take-off roll was very short with a steep climb and we leveled out at FL330. I started to feel really sick because i hadn't had any food. Thankfully they passed out those snack boxes right away with a bagel, yogurt and some fruit in it.
Clear-air Turbulence started to get pretty rough and the pilot moved us up to about FL360 or 370 halfway through the flight. We started to decsend very smoothly and made the beautiful approach into Fort Lauderdale. Smooth touchdown and early arrival at 8:40am.

FLL-PHL
US Airways Boeing 757-200 also in New Colors(Im sure all of their 757's are by now.)
Flight 21
April 28
Estimated departure: 6:15 am
Estimated Arrival: 8:55am

Geeze another VERY early flight and we woke up at 4:00am to drive our rented convertible back to the airport to go home. Stayed at my family's condo in Hollywood Beach and took a little trip to the bahamas on my grandpa's boat. (We do this every year.) Got to the airport at about 5:00am and checked in and went straight to the gate. Of course it was still dark and i don't think i was really awake during this time. We boarded at 5:50am and I got another great 30F seat. Right in the back!! wasnt even close to a bunch of girls i saw before boarding that looked amazing. Oh well, on time take-off, short roll and steep climb. Leveled at aroun FL320 and cruised along the florida for a little before turning out to the Atlantic. Flight was pleasant and we were given another one of the snack boxes with the same stuff. There was no in-flight entertainment again due to the 2:20 flight time. US Airways 757's are very comfortable and are in good shape although AA's 757's are better. we started to descend and i woke up from my nap. We took the great approach over the Philly naval docks and over the bridge. We touched down smoothly at 8:50am, about 5 minutes early.
Great Job US Airways!! I just dont like that they fly only 733 and 734's to florida now.

Sorry if this post is in bold i am on my dad's macintosh and i dont know why that happens. Hope you enjoyed it!! Feel free to post ANY questions or comments.

Man, I wish they still flew them to FLL, I fly that route about twice a month to see my dad when he is working down there and the 734's are so uncomfortable!!

Who knows maybe they will schedule some on that route for easter or around spring break because that plane was packed! Where does your dad work around the FLL area? I see that your a sophmore. So am I. I wish some airlines would fly better planes to Fort Lauderdale because i go there twice a year usually.

He works in a new town called Weston-it's about 20 miles west of FLL and right on the Everglades. It's really close to the National Car Rental Center and Sawgrass Mills, the huge mall. The PHL flights are always oversold. My dad is Chairman's on US so my parents don't like flying other airlines unless they have to. I think Spirit flies that route, and maybe Midway or Airtran, but my parents hate the DC-9/MD-80/717 series and that's what they fly I think (not sure of Midway).

The US terminal at FLL stinks, there is nothing there, don't you think? I was at FLL around that time too, I think!

Yeah I agree the terminal there is in complete reconstruction and it looks horrible. The airport doesnt have a thing in it, the only thing good about it is there are no delays and runway clearance is really fast. Thats awesome that your dad is a US chairman. Make him make US fly more 757's and buy more A330's and put them on US routes. That would be cool. I get to fly a good plane to FLL this year though! I just found out that Delta flies 763's from LGA-FLL and i live near EWR so its only about an hour car trip to LGA. That would be cool.
