My first trip report.... gulp.

So if it's bad then.... don’t say anything..

We (me and friends) got to East Midlands Airport at 6am on 7/2/02 and checked in for our flight to Lanzarote. The woman was very friendly, and they're usually sad and boring.

We went to the departure lounge via the security area where my bag was searched - did they think I had a bomb in there?!

We got on the Airbus A321 at about 7am, and I sat in 13B. Lucky for some...
The captain said that the people in Brussels were being mean, so we went to a remote stand for an hour and waited until about 8:20am.

We eventually took off and headed for Arrecife. We had a good flight, and we had a very nice hot breakfast. I am quite sure that this is the plane we flew on on the way there, and the same on the way back.

The luggage took ages to come, and I looked at another carousel and there was a flight in from somewhere else and the luggage was there before the people had even come through passport control, where they don't check your passports at all.

We stayed in Costa Teguise for the week, and didn't do a lot. Went to the pool, beach, bars, and restaurants. The usual stuff.

The week went really fast, and it was time to get on the coach to the airport.
Thursdays are one of the busiest days, if not the busiest at Arrecife, because it's the day when the British invade the airport. Our flight was delayed by about half an hour, but we eventually went to gate A3, went down the stairs and got onto an empty bus! They're usually packed and you have no room, but we were the first on it! Big thumbs up

We went all the way around the airport, past 3 Air 2000 aircraft, 1 Spanair aircraft, and a few others, and we got to our lonely aircraft at the far side of the airport away from the terminal building.

We boarded and then the captain said that we have to go a different route to get to EMA. We had to go over Cork, Dublin, then Manchester to get back! The meal was beef cassolet and it was delicious. We watched a film, then a woman in 14C (I was in 15A), wasn't feeling to good and was put on oxygen..she looked like she was going to die, honestly. She was throwing up, and everyone was saying that we might have to land somewhere so she could get medical attention. We didn't land, we carried on. We came into land, going very low over the M1, and landed about 15 seconds in front of another aircraft. Good job we weren't 15 seconds late...

We passed 4 British Midland aircraft all in old colours, except one which had it's tail done. We parked up next to a Britannia 757, and got onto a crowded bus.
Went to International Arrivals and got our bags quickly, and left to get home to my bed Big thumbs up

That's about it. This is my first report so I've probably missed things out...

Nice report!
I love Arrecife, but you would not believe the difference in flying out on a Monday rather than a Thursday! Last year we had 6 Air 2000 flights checking in at once at 6 desks! Nightmare! Where were you staying in Costa Teguise?
