A300-600
LH1722 14:20-15:35
D-AIAY
Seat 39A

Last thursday I flew to TXL because I had my Sim Check for LH CityLine!
At 12:40 I arrived at FRA missed the plane I wanted to take. Check-in was very fast got my boarding pass my baggage security checked!
Boarding was at 13:50 the A300 parked at gate A25 the business classs was nearly full and economy was about 60-70%full! My seat was behind the wing so that i had a good few to the ground and the wing. We taxied to holding point Rwy 25R. During taxy i recognized some things for the first time.
The SU A310 has a cayman Islands registration, LX used a MD83 from ZRH to FRA, Terminal 2 was very empty only 2 BA A320, 1 IB MD8? and one ST B737-700
and thats all. Behind the daily CX B744 we took off of 25r at 14:47. The weather was great during climb I saw my hometown Wiesbaden and the whole Rhein main area. At approx. 5000ft we stopped climb for about 2 min and then up to 29000ft. It was a bit bumby, we got drinks and everything was great. The new LH dress looks great! For the first time I had more than one great looking F/A on board!
During approach to TXL rwy 08L the turbulences became a bit more what lead to the fact that 2 kids in the middle row of 38 used their Airsicknessbags their mother shouted at them to be carefull. This was kind of funny because we were in final approach and the F/A couldn't get up to help the mother. I laughed!
We landed after 47 min of flight time at TXL, the landing was cool a strong crosswind from the left made the FO flare nearly over the half runway untill he touched thze runway, traffic there was very rare. A US government DC9 and a parked LH A310 were the highlights. Gate 9 at TXL!

23.02.02
A300-600
LH999 18:30-19:45
D-AIAT "Bottrop"
Seat 27A

After I had passed my LH test I flew back home. Checkin at TXL at 17:50 took long because only 2 counter were open. Security check at TXL was very good they checked everything! Again gate 9.
I asked the F/O to let me fly in the Cockpit, he said yes but then the captain about 50 years came out took his 25 years old F/A girl friend from the check-in counter and i had to fly Economy!
plane was half empty so boarding was very quick. Push Back at 18:37 take off off RWY26L at 18:46. A lot of charter traffic this time ST,YP and AB aircrafts and three parked DI B737. Wind was strong again but no Airsicknessbags this time. Again a beautiful F/A what really impressed me! Got my Coke light couldn't see anything, it was night and we flew in clouds. Untill now very unspectacluar.
Approach to FRA was ok, no holding approaching rwy 25L. At landing I experienced a new art of landind in a A300, the captain didn't activate the reverse thrust, so it took us nearly 3/4 of the rwy to brake.
This time no gate position, parking nearly the LH cargo base and took the bus. Another funny thing was, when the engines had been shut down and the ground power was connected the power unit didn't work well, so every 15 seconds the light and air condition was off for 5 sec then on for ten and off and on.
Both times had a great stay on LH planes and the A300 is a great plane with a powerfull takeoff.

regards Bjoern

Did you notice any differences inside -AY? Because this aircraft is ex-Emirates.

Hey, why don´t you post a trip report about that CR7 ride? I read a couple of those in magazines and enjoy them immensely, especially when they train emergencies Big grin.

Hi,

first of all nice trip report. Must be cool to fly an A300 within Germany.
And now, congratulations to our new CRJ pilot ! Really, really cool.

You know what´s even cooler? To be one of ~20 passengers on a DC10 (!) MUC-FRA Big grin

Maybe but even cooler than that is to be on an A340 within Germany. LH used to have a few of these on MUC-FRA.
