We have arrived the final part of this report, the part that about using Air India going back Hong Kong from Osaka

Check-out the Nikko Hotel, the airport terminal was only 150 meters away, very good location!

PIDS in KIX airport

I was the only First Class passengers for this sector
After checking-in, the staff escorted me through security line using the crew line and pasted the immigration in no time, he would like to bring me to the lounge but I rejected as I wanted to walk around the airport. Nice service!

Main terminal

For Gate 2, I have to take the train

Nothing else to buy, only 110 Yen left in the pocket, time to visit the lounge
AI used CX lounge in KIX

I don't like windowless

Food corner
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z23/sutrakhk/Flight/Japan/Part7/010.jpg

Some simple food, but I though I eat too much in the lounge!

The flight continued to Delhi
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z23/sutrakhk/Flight/Japan/Part7/014.jpg

About to board
During check-in, the agent asked whether I like to board first or board last, I chose to board first, so once I appear at the gate area, they told me to sit near the gate so I can board first
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z23/sutrakhk/Flight/Japan/Part7/015.jpg

After the second security check at the jet bridge (Don't know why second security check was needed in both directions)

Seat 2A this time

Business class, looks comfortable
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z23/sutrakhk/Flight/Japan/Part7/018.jpg

The FAs on this flight were friendlier, I loved to talk with them

After the powerful take-off, I am on my way backing home, I miss my home!

Champagne
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z23/sutrakhk/Flight/Japan/Part7/019.jpg

Snacks, they have 2 Indian snacks and 2 Japanese snacks
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z23/sutrakhk/Flight/Japan/Part7/020.jpg

The FA ask when I prefer to have my lunch, I just told him, maybe I can have it now

Meal time, this time with menu card

http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z23/sutrakhk/Flight/Japan/Part7/035.jpg

Starter, crab meat salad
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z23/sutrakhk/Flight/Japan/Part7/021.jpg

Two soups to choose, I chose the cream mushroom soup
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z23/sutrakhk/Flight/Japan/Part7/022.jpg

Main course on trolley, was it too much for 1 passenger??
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z23/sutrakhk/Flight/Japan/Part7/023.jpg

I chose this combination, the curry was nice, but the Japanese chicken was bad
PS: There is a yogurt on top, it helps if you find the food too spicy
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z23/sutrakhk/Flight/Japan/Part7/024.jpg

The FA collected my plates, dessert, fruits and cheese were ready
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z23/sutrakhk/Flight/Japan/Part7/025.jpg

I chose both desserts, Japanese chestnut cake on the left, Indian sweet pasta on the right
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z23/sutrakhk/Flight/Japan/Part7/026.jpg

And some fruits afterwards, I gave up the cheese
http://i195.photobucket.com/albums/z23/sutrakhk/Flight/Japan/Part7/027.jpg

After the fruit, my stomach was totally packed, so I walk around the cabin.

Comment: The hardware of Air India is quite good today, if they can put more effort to update their software, they can come close with the top airlines in the world

This is the end of my report, hope you enjoy it. Sorry for not having much words in the report, but I hope my photos can tell you the story.

Wow, I really liked all 7 reports. What an amazing itinerary!!! I really enjoy reading your reports, especially on rare aircraft like the BG DC10, JL a300 and Iran Air 747SP. Fantastic and thanks for posting!!

One question, how long did you take for all these 7 flights? Did you spend some time in Japan for instance?

Really nice conclusion to your trip! Looks like you had some great flights! I bet it was tough to finish up a trip like this!

Wow, Air India seemed to offer an incredibly more substantial meal on your flight back to HKG. I wonder what made the difference in service for the flights? It also doesn't seem like AI is earning much in F on these flights; just you on both legs! That seems incredible too me!

Thanks for sharing!

Very nice last installment in the series with very nice pictures!

Air India First Class looks fantastic! Food looks amazing and nice with a cart so you can choose exactly what you want.

Looking forward to your next adventure.

WOW! Air India First does indeed look fantastic - the food offering is really good. Care to elaborate on the crew?

Thanks again for writing all the reports. I know how time consuming they are.

Saludos,
A.

My trip last for 19 days, and all these flights take me 6 days, so I still have many times to explorer Japan

I don't know why but I really find the return leg to be more enjoyable. Maybe better ground personel to help me, and the 2 FA seems more active and more enjoy working there

AI used to operate A310 in this route without F, so I think they should do some promotion after changing to 77L

Yes, just tell them what you want, mix and match. Emirates did the same during my last HKG-BKK on 77W

My next trip, if possible, would be the inaugural A380 flight for HKG-BKK on 1 October 2010, I am still thinking to do or not to do....

The crew was really nice on this sector. The female FA ask whether I like some champagne after takeoff, I rejected at first since I have to drive after arriving HKG, but she said 1 glass would be no problem, then i said OK. Some minutes later, she poped a bottle and poured in front of me and she hope me to enjoy, really warm.
For the male FA, he tried to satisfy all my needs, and he tried his best to provide best service. Like during dessert time, although he have pulled all the desserts and fruit to me, but once I chose the desserts, he adviced me to finish the desserts first, and he will be back for fruit after my desserts. After my meal, we chatted a while, he introduced the culture of India and even recommend a India film to me in the AVOD system which he loved much, which make me feel he really like his job!

Excellent report, very well done. The pictures are great too.

It looks like the KIX-HKG portion was better than the HKG-KIX portion. I have often wondered what AI's First Class was like, thank you for the information. It was nice of the crew to lay everything out like that for you. Its even better to see a menu this time round.

Superb Trip Report on AI First. Loved your report on the HKG-KIX sector too.

Lucky you! How did it feel to have the whole F cabin to yourself?

Hmmm. Lounge looks just about OK.

Wonder why AI cannot keep sufficient stock of stuff?

Some AI crew are genuinely warm and friendly. Once you talk to them, they go all out to ensure that you have a great flight.

Looks yummy. The Indian dessert is called "Kheer"  http://rinasrecipes.blogspot.com/2007/11/thin-vermicelli-kheer.html

Totally agree. AI will soon have a brand new fleet of widebody and narrowbody aircraft with the latest hardware and IFE.

With their upcoming entry into Star Alliance, they need to spruce up their software to ensure that they become a top class airline once again.

Thanks for posting this TR.

Great series of trip reports, Sutrakhk, featuring a interesting selection of carriers, aircraft and airports.

The AI First Class product looks light and airy and the selection of food on the final leg looked good.

Was being the only passenger in First typical for AI? I know that there has been a downturn, but surely some people can still afford to fly up front.

Many years ago I was scheduled to fly out of PER on Air India to LHR. A few weeks before departure the service was discontinued and I ended up on BA. Ironically, the BA flight called into Delhi on the way.

Thanks for sharing your experience.

Wow, I must say that I'm pretty impressed with AI's F class offering. Everything from your airport escort to the enormous food offerings are all top notch!

This report reminds of my 77L flight from JFK to DEL two years ago. I had a great flight as well.

Thanks for sharing!
