Man...must be ex the way you fly!!! haha...do you have that much $$ to splurge on flying? I also want!!! In fact, I've been looking forward to Malaysian Airlines but so far with no luck!

Singapore777,
the reason I am such a frequent flyer with MH is because their tix are not very expensive. I simply love the Golden Lounge in KLIA too! Plus I do not mind the transits because I get to see more planes and take more photos...
For that price I pay, the in-flt service on MH has never failed me. Food is excellent. Very value for money. So I shall be looking forward to this trip with much anticipation!
This is also my first time in the Golden Club cabin of the A330, I have only been in the F Class cabin previously. I have flown Golden Club on the 772s, 744s and the 734s, so this trip will conclude the entire fleet I guess! The Fokker 50s and Twin Otters only have Y cabins. Thus, I am looking forward to that as well.
Cheers
Ryan

Singapore777,
what do you mean "no luck" on Malaysia Airlines? I know their Y Class flights to London, LAX, Sydney and Melbourne are always fully booked in advance. Is that what you mean? This just shows how good they are in terms of value for money. Cheap and good service.

For a S$1058 tix from SIN-BKK can get me on my favourite 777-200ER SIN-AMS... so, why pay more for a SIN-BKK route (2 hrs sector), where else I can get a super good experience on a full fledged ER SIN-AMS?
I dont really see the necessity of taking J or C class for such short sectors anyway. For a SIN-BKK, I'd rather fly on Aeroflot's IL96 or SwissAir's MD11.
Perhaps again its just your preference. Unless you're flying on a company paid ticket, I dont think its worthwhile travelling J or C anytime.
Somehow, the only time I took J class was in Australia, where QF's FF program is really useful. But then again, I spent most of those flights in the jumpseat.

So how come on the trip from Sydney to Langawki you were flying Y class then? Seems that most of your first or business class flights are on shorter sectors like Kuala Lumpur, Penang etc!

fyi,
the Langkawi / Sydney trip was a free trip and I had to use up some travel vouchers. I only fly Y when i am broke so that was one of the "broke" trips... Plus if you read the report, it was my first time flying Y with MH.
It was an unplanned for holiday and I left within a week after deciding to do it. Surprised I could still get seats because Y class on MH KUL-SYD is hot! Always fully booked up to a year in advanced!
I normally fly J with MH on my Aussie (several times a year) and regional trips. I cannot afford to fly them long haul to US and Europe.

I travel whenever I can... I need to get out of Singapore or else I would go crazy, it is so crowded! i hate crowds... If you do not pamper yourself, who would? I believe in starting and ending my holiday in a special way. Hence, J Class. Of course it means save like hell! Credit card helps too! Hee!
The reason i seem to be posting a report every week, if you noticed those trips are from way before. I thought I was the only crazy one keeping details of trips like seat numbers, food served, aircraft type/registraion etc... until I discovered this website! Wee!!!!... That is why I am on a roll, which I am sure I would taper off soon once I have given all my reports.

I was looking through all your profiles and most of you are still schooling... Wait till you get out of school, start working (finish NS first! Or if you can't wait, sign on!) and have a stable income. And then - FLY AWAY!
You would then understand the joy of travelling J Class. Of course if you twist my arm, I would still fly Y, not that I am that rich... if I was, I would be flying First Class all the way!
I have had been in Y Class which was comfortable (not as comfy as J, of course!) like MH, TG (wide open spaces in their 744s Y cabin!), CX and SQ. Yucky ones are, in my opinion: NW, AA, CI, SR, SK, QF so bloody cramped!
See, I still fly Y Class enough to know all these facts huh?

I have been working since graduation for the past X yrs...still haven't been able to find the time to go on holidays more than once a year. Well, there are definitely perks when flying on business trips, but I would be too busy frantically typing on my laptop to enjoy the flight....
So I say, once you graduate and before starting work, take a well deserved break and see the world. Depending on what line of work you are in, not everyone can afford the time to take numerous breaks throughout the year.
As for travelling J class, well, it also depends on how much you want to pamper myself. Ryan's right, if you don't pamper yourself, who else would? Unfortunately, not everyone is willing to do that... unless you take advantage of the current J class offers MH has!!!

Yeah! S$1288 SIN-SYD-SIN on Golden Club Class is a steal and I will be embarking on that trip in May! Unfortunatedly, SIN-KULvv sectors are in Y Class, wonder if I can upgrade?
Well, looks like another trip report coming up!

i thinks hor, you are velli the brave leh. you hor, got the balls to say in front of everyone that NW and AA are the yuckiest airlines.
eh, from your previous experience here, you never learn meh, from how the chow ang mohs (aka foreign talent) from "mei guo" responded to your claim that their airlines were lousified.
i tell you hor, i am sure they will read it and kwai lan you with "if you not happy with our airline u can don't fly with us, if you think our cabin crew are there to etc etc etc"
you know why i must type until engrish so bad one right? so those chow ang moh will have harder time to know what i am saying lor! haha! You next time want to say bad things about chow ang moh airline hor, also must say like this leh! if not they scold you until you donch know where to put your face leh! then england so not powderful, how to defend yourself leh??
Good on you ryan. I have enjoyed reading every single one of your trip reports and I hope to see more rolling in. Perhaps you could also share your experience as an air traffic controller with us, some other time!

hey hey hey...
I never said that AA and NW was a "yucky" airline. I meant they have "yucky" economy class seating. So you'd better use the "yucky" term properly, do not want it to be taken out of context. Anyway, it's no secret that the service isn't that great so what's there to hide? It was only one person that kept rambling on and on...
We should not keep to ourselves the way we feel. If we do that, then what is the use of a forum? Debate is healthy. As long as it remains mature, I always welcome an argument. Keep a look out for the coming reports ya? Should be posted by the 26th March.
Cheers

Hi all,
I am back from this trip already so look out for the trip report. I took a total of 102 photographs including airport shots, cabin shots, food, cabin crew, seats, planes... phew! Used up two sets of batteries for my digi-cam!
Now I am wondering how the hell do I post my pics with the report??
