LH To Kazakhstan LCY-FRA-ALA

Hello all this is my first trip report so let see what happens.

Leg 1

DEP: LCY
ARR : FRA
AC Type : ERJ-195

Aircraft arriving to take me to FRA

Very nice leg room on the Embraer 190

Looks like Embraer is really starting to replace the Avrojets at LCY

A blanket of clouds over London make for a nice picture

Nice little snack for the 1 hours flight

Passing behind a LH737 which has just landed

Some taxi shot at FRA you can defiantly tell who is the big dog here

Skyteam is the odd one out at this huge Star Alliance hub.

Leg 2

DEP : FRA
ARR : ALA
A/C Type : A330-300

Just a little bit less leg room than the Embraer but still a nice amount of room after you take into consideration I am 6 ft 3

The ALA flight left from the Lufthansa Cargo area which was very busy at this time in the morning.

Pre dinner snack which includes what I think is the best beer in the world

Beef Stroganoff for dinner which was very nice for economy food and the chocolate cakes was really good.

Some in flight cruise shots with the sun dropping below the horizon.

Very clean toilet but than again the load factor was only 25% in economy.

Y Cabin shot with the very nice IFE system.

Almost there.

Overall I thought the flight was really good the service was excellent and the IFE system was very good.

Fascinating report, especially for your first, thanks! I read only yesterday (in Lonely Planet magazine) an article about Kazahkstan, seems like a great place to visit!

Thanks for sharing! Interesting to read about a destination you don't hear too much about! That's nice that LH offers an A330 service on this flight!

I was visit a customer in ALA I provide customer support for clients with Private Jets. Believe it or not ALA has quite a few nice jets

The return leg left at 0200 so I was sleeping sorry

Kazakhstan has been on my list of top 3 countries to visit next for a while now.
What was the load like between FRA and ALA? Were most of the pax German or Kazakhstani, or something else?

LCY! I'd love to fly in/out from LCY!

Lufthy seems get it all corrected although nothing special.

Their 333s should be a nice aircraft to fly on. But I just can't stand the built-in remote controls.

The flight from FRA-ALA was 25% full mostly Europeans.

The return flight ALA-TSE-FRA. The first leg was almost empty I would say about 30 pax in Y. When we stopped in TSE we had a lot of Kaszak people board for the flight to FRA.

They sure did I have not seen a bottle in the last 6 flight I have taken since December 2010

I find it bad that the good starters have now been replaced by lettuce. It was Swiss that had the idea to copy the US airlines. I always suspected that LH would follow LX on this.

As to legroom LH Y legroom on long haul is among the tightest with BA / UA / VS..
