As the norm, took an early flight into KL which leaves me almost an entire day to relax and meet up friends. After a year of nonstop work, now its really the time for me to sit back and chill. A friend dropped me off at the airport around 7pm, which gave me lots of time to kill. After doing an early check in I decided to go over to the Pan Pacific KLIA hotel and just relax at the spa. Went back to the terminal abt 2 hrs before my flight where my family and also friends just arrived and joining me to Tokyo.

Pretty much full in all classes. I am sure you guys know that I always rave about the inflight service on MH, especially in J. But this time they were exceptionally good, much better than the already usual high standards.
Cabin Views, I like row 5 on MH J on the B772 as it give your own personal space and privacy as its in its own mini cabin.

The only meal we got was satay after departure, the main meal, breakfast was of course served 1.5 hours before landing.

Nothing much to talk about the flight itself, most passengers like myself fell asleep after take off. I woke up just before breakfast and it suddenly dawned on me. Holidays are really here!

Had tons of time to kill when we reached Haneda, out time was just spend wandering around the terminal, having lunch and then just relaxing in the lounge.
That crowded NH terminal at Haneda and one great aspect about all airports in Japan, the viewing terrace!

Nothging out of the ordinary from this typical Japan domestic run and the high density seating on domestic routes.

Another pretty full flight to Tokyo, Japan domestic flights never seem to have low loads, for my personal observation that is.

After lunch we didn't bother about the lounge and headed straight to the gate. Found out flight was delayed due to some ventilation issue. We boarded the plane about 34 mins after ETD.

Another cheerful crew onboard and the first thing I asked of them was, to turn down the heather, it was burning in there! I think all my fellow passengers requested the same thing

Great trip report. It made me reminisce about my time on a MH 772 to Tokyo. It was one of the best experiences ever. Their business class has so much room it's incredible.

Always so amazed by this ... full 777's and 747's on short, 1 hour flights! Incredible.

I agree with AC033...another wonderful trip report by you.
I appreciated the pictures at HND and NRT. They are both very spotter friendly airports and I loved going there when I lived in Japan. NH and JL do use 777's and 747-400D's on domestc flights. I appreciated reading your report and seeing your pics in premium class as I always flew in economy class. The service even in economy class was excellent for a short flight.
And both arports have excellent facilities for spotting.
Thank you again for an excellent tr...I will look forward to your upcoming ones.

I think they do have the most room of any J class, thats why it baffles me on why they do not make their seats fully flat!
Quoting 767747 (Reply 4): Always so amazed by this ... full 777's and 747's on short, 1 hour flights! Incredible.
Whats more incredible is that the B744D do not have winglets

You are welcome and thanks for reading. I am currently packing for my next departure on Wed to ZRH and GVA with TG A346 and LX A321

Thanks so much for this report. It is fitting to celebrate such a magnificent country like Japan in these troubling times. I have vowed to get there in the next few months and just be there. All your NH and MH flights seems like clockwork and great. Not surprising either . As you know, I rank MH as one of my favorite 3 airlines in the world.
Very nice colour schemes on thier long haul fleet actually (cabin wise)
Quoting The777Man (Reply 10): What a nice trip report, is the MAS flight to To Tokyo daily with the new business class.?
Its new business class actually has been around for arouond 5 years now ahahha..which is the same as TG's 1st gen lie flats, but MH has really huge legroom on them. Actually Tokyo flights are done 2x a day, both with B772ER
Quoting Aaron747 (Reply 12): PW-powered 777s are never boring. Best sounding contemporary engine around IMO.
Didnt realise PW were on those birds

Hi Alex, yes, god bless Japan and its recovery especially with the radioactive material being spewed out of Fukushima. And sadly its also the most beautiful time to travel to Japan because of the Sakura Flower season. I was actually due to fly to NRT and Hiroshima ob 10 April, for a meeting and extension for some r and r, and without saying this is of course now cancelled due to the tragedy that happened there.
