Very good trip on Ethiopian Airlines.
Travelled from ARN to FCO return, departing on the 4th of March and returning on the 12th March. Booked our tickets back in November for this trip to Italy. Paid 1400 Kronor each for the round trip tickets, about $215.00. Ticket price was much lower than SAS ($450.00), and Norwegian ($400.00). Check in at airport was smooth and easy. No charges for checking a piece of luggage. Passenger allowed up to 30Kg. Flight boarded on time. On board the airplane we were greeted by a friendly crew, the 757 interior seemed a bit dated, but in a good way. Every seat had a soft pillow (with cotton pillowcase) and a clean plastic wrapped blanket. Every seatback pocket had a stereo headphone in it also.
Our flight departed on time at 20:00, I noticed that the crew were trained very well in safety. They were professional and seemed in control of the flight from departure.
Flying time was to be 3 hours.
After take off a hot dinner was served in economy class. The dinner consisted of a choice of hot meal, served with appetizer, dessert, cheese and crackers.
I had the corned beef served with mash potato, peas and carrots, w/horseradish sauce. The appetizer was smoked salmon with potato salad, and the dessert was a chocolate mousse cake.
The meal was one of the best meals I have had on a flight in many years. I was really surprised. Oh, I forgot to mention the meal was complimentary, and was served with ones choice of beverage which included beer or wine on the house.
The meal was served with a beverage, then coffee and tea followed, and then a bottled water service upon meal tray collection.
The video entertainment was great also. Episodes of 'Modern Family', an American TV series.
The flight landed in Rome early, baggage made it to the baggage claim area within 25 minutes.
The return trip was an early morning departure from Rome to Stockholm, 05:45. The trip was just as good, a hot breakfast was served, with juice and coffee, and bottled water on pick up.

Amazing fare! Free hot food! Way to go!!
Those meal look real nice, and 30 kgs of bag! You cold do a lot of shopping in Italy!
Unlike SAS, even water is for sale, lame excure if they say they offer low price! Never low at all!!
Hope soon they will be full member of Star Alliance, then you could earn miles towards STAR GOLD status
Don't be annoyed knowing the passengers around you are non-revs and op-upgraders, be grateful for them. Life is beautifu

I'm glad you liked your trip on ET.
Actually you got long-haul service on a short haul flight, which is always a nice surprise nowadays ...

This made me smile. Actually the plane is continuing to ADD. If you join for the FCO-ADD sector (as I did last year), you won't get the chance to have a dinner. Se better to get something to eat at the airport before boarding ...
