Preflight
Inbound was slightly late coming in from KUL but still managed to get a complimentary body massage at the royal orchid spa. I got back to the lounge where I thought I had some times to get 2 smokes and a quick drink before our valets took us to the aircraft, but how wrong was I!
Scenes from the Royal First Lounge and Royal Smoking Room ahahahah like that Royal word don’t you
Although i have been on the A346 a couple of times, i am anyhow still excited to fly on this bird. To my surprise, was told that the flight is delayed due to a malfunctioning heater problem. There goes my 50 mins connecting time in ZRH! After about 30mins, we got an update that we will not depart before 3am.
Inflight
Once we got on board the crew immediately were very apologetic about the delay. It really didn’t bother me too much as they have already booked me on the next flight to GVA. Just crossing my fingers that they will also transfer my checked bags accordingly.

Dinner at almost 4am? Why, yes pelase!

Everyone is just about settling in to the usual routine before dinner is served
After meal service concluded, I just finished up my video on my iPad before I too decided to get some sleep. Woke up with about 1 hrs to go, and breakfast was served
RR powering us all the way to ARH
Overall the flight was great with a fantastic crew to match. We made up some time onroute to ZRH which gave me almost an hour to spare before my new flight.

Preflight
Once i got off my TG flight, it was a dash to passport control and then on to the transfer counter to pick up my new boarding pass. After everything was done i still had time to go to the nice smoking bar in the Senator lounge.

Smoking Bar in the LH Senator lounge
HB-IJR taking me to GVA
When can I own one of these?
Inflight
A 100% full flight to GVA, a really cheerful crew onboard. And typical Swiss, everything was on time and on schedule.
Cabin and outside views to GVA
My accommodation was the Hotel President Wilson in Geneva
Preflight
Just barely 48hrs since i arrived, its now time for me to head back home. Arrived at the airport with an hour to spare and after check in its just straight to the Senator lounge for me.
A busy GVA terminal
Small but cozy Senator Lounge
My ride to ZRH
Inflight
Another full flight to ZRH. Really nothing much to do on this short hop. Once we took off and cruising altitude was established, 4mins later descend started. Another short but really nice flight with LX.
Cabin Views
The devastating event that happened almost 24hrs earlier
More tarmac and cabin views
Preflight
By the time i checked in, i had a little over an hour to spare before boarding. Had to pick up a few duty free items for the wife. By the time i was done, and additional time spent clearing immigration, aerotrain to E gates and security check; it practically only gave me 10mins to smoke before boarding.
After check in, I decided to head outside for some fresh air..with a cigarette in hand of course, but hey, great view for spotters too
HS-TNA taking me to Bangkok today
Inflight
HA-TNA is my ride to BKK and she is TG's very first A346 delivered. Boarding was organised and on the dot. 238 passengers on the flight today. F is also 100% full. Really a great feeling to be in my most familiar long haul cabin which is TG F. A very positive and cheerful crew onboard today.
And soon enough, it was time for take off
Always love the views out the window from ZRH
IFE
My favorite part of every flight, the meal!
And enjoying the views before meal was served
Meal time!
After I finished my meal, I head straight off to sleep and was woken up for breakfast. And before I knew it, we were already touching down in BKK.

What can I say? Great photos. The food on TG looks yummy.
I t is good to note that TG kept you informed about the delay and made sure that you were booked through on the next available flight. I take it that your suitcase did transfer without hassles.

Thai looks great as usual! Nice photos and the Alps and food both look beautiful. I noticed that there is only one curtain between the front of F and the galley (vs. a set of two on some other airlines I've seen, like NH). Was light pollution a problem during the night?

Great report. I'm glad I'm reading it from the Senator lounge in ZRH otherwise I may have been highly depressed based on how long it is since I was last here. Lol!! TG look amazing. I really must try and do a mileage run on them soon to help retain *G. I'm always impressed when I see trip reports of TG.
According to one of my colleagues, my problem is that I'm addicted to travel!

Nice and interesting trip report thaiA34 ! The service seems to be excellent in the Thai A346 first. Also nice pictures, are you planning to post the GA leg with the new B738 ?

Quoting Quokka (Reply 1): I take it that your suitcase did transfer without hassles
I was a little worried at first, but when i arrived in GVA, my suitcase was the first one out ahahhaha...swiss efficiency and of course thanks in large part to TG lounge team in BKK who already called and telexed ZRH in advance
Quoting initious (Reply 2): HS-TNC is a good bird, been on her 3 times on seat 12A for all 3 times. Love that bird. =)
Not for me, she caused the almost 3 hr delay ahhahaha. I actually rode the most on TNF and TND. haven't been on TNE though
Quoting kurt (Reply 3): Was light pollution a problem during the night?
Actually it was hazy all the way in swiss/german airspace

u should do so indeed !
Quoting ba319-131 (Reply 5): will see if I can change to TG in F or J via on the ZRH route.
Hey Mark, i think u should, especially the ZRH route is definitely a guaranteed A346
Quoting abrelosojos (Reply 6): I really like those Rimowa kits - have a picture of the inside? I want one!

= Oh my God! THANK YOU SO MUCH. I will return the favour next time I am in some random airline. I'd love a purple one ... how cool. Let me think where you can send it to ... am sadly sure that it won't be appreciated by "customs" here in VZ.

Absolutely enjoy your journey to Europe on THAI First class.
Seem like the service you are getting on every flight is very consistent.
I hope the 'Older' crew of Thai Airways will never ever dissappoint you and live up to your expectation.
And hope they will finish upgrade their hardware product e.g seats/suite soon enough!!!
Many thanks again.

Don't be annoyed knowing the passengers around you are non-revs and op-upgraders, be grateful for them. Life is beautifu

Actually they don't and even with a full load in F, they performed their duties amicably. However, i have seen F crew sometimes on regional J runs, and its amazing how quickly their attitude and composure changes, however, when they recognise me, i still get great service ehhehehehe

That's quite funny, actually! I meant did light from the forward galley filter into the darkened F cabin during the night?
