Trip report ADL-SIN-FRA-JFK and return 1st June

Another trip to Chicago and this time, I had to depart from ADL so an early morning flight from MEL on Qantas had me at Tullamarine by 7am.
Qantas has just introduced a new self-check in system and I was VERY impressed! Easy to use, exceptionally user friendly, fast and smooth with virtually no wait at all to load my bags onto the many bag-drop machines, with plenty of staff to assist passengers who were unsure…surely this is the way to go for the future of domestic airline check in.

QF 9 having just pulled in from LHR/SIN a couple of hours earlier.

The QF ADL-MEL leg was hardly worth mentioning. Very stock standard QF domestic flight. Decent service, adequate breakfast and on time arrival.

I was impressed with Adelaide airport! I mean…it’s certainly not one of the great hubs of the world, but for the size that it is, it does a great job. Spacious, clean, uncluttered, free trolleys for all passengers, free internet and wifi….just wonderful. It’s a pity they don’t get more international traffic. It’s a MUCH better airport than MEL. So well done, ADL. Another bonus is the same terminal transfers for domestic and international.

I checked in for my SQ flight to SIN and asked for my bags to be tagged to SIN only as I had cargo to unload to rellies in SIN. I had reserved seat 16K towards the back of the J cabin. Couldn’t check in online as the new SQ website was not working. Check in was smooth and uneventful. I proceeded to the Silver Kris lounge past a further security check in the international section of the departure lounge.

http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0680.jpg

The Silver Kris lounge was ho hum. Newish and quite comfortable, but not spectacular. Slightly better than the MEL lounge. SQ’s lounges are really not the best in the industry….QF has better lounges, but I guess this was a remote station for them. Funny thing, as I sat in the corner of the lounge, I could hear just about every single conversation between all passengers in the lounge…..a british couple with a posh accent ringing home to ask after the dog, a Singaporean businessman talking in perfect Singlish about meetings the next day…then as my computer booted up and the Skype ‘woooosh’ sound came on, EVERYONE looked towards my direction….oooops!

Our beautiful bird today, 9V-STR, an A330 barely 3 months old. Don’t you love the sight of a gleaming, shiny new plane?
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0677.jpg
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0684.jpg

The flight was called on time and boarding was orderly and seamless. Good ground staff at ADL, so well done SQ.

Was greeted enthusiastically at the door by the chief steward and shown to my seat. Everything just flowed with trademark SQ efficiency; champagne, newspapers, hot towels, magazines and I was address by name 100% of the time from the moment I boarded.
Cabin pics:

Very soon, we were on our way with an on time departure.
Taking off towards the west.
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0692.jpg

Post take off drink: Ice coffee and warmed nuts
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0693.jpg
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0705.jpg

Lunch was served within 40 mins after take off.
Entrée: Some gamey meat (rabbit?) and ham terrine with apricot chutney and something vinaigrette. Delicious!
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0697.jpg
main course: Miso crusted Salmon with fettucine and Bak Choy. Salmon perfectly cooked and even a little pink in the middle.

Dessert: Butterscotch ice cream for dessert
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0701.jpg
Whilst the ice cream tasted fine, I have noticed SQ cutting back on their desserts in the J cabin of late…..it’s usually just ice cream rather than a cake or ‘proper’ dessert. Not sure if this is the same for all routes. For the perfect and efficient service, I shall forgive them. Of course, there is the usually cheese board, fruit platter and chocolates as well as liquors and coffee after the meal, but I wanted to save my stomach for even better meals later.

Flying over this great, vast, red and sunburnt land of ours. I just love Australia.
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0694.jpg
I watched the movie Black Swan (creepy…but good) then fell asleep. When I woke of a couple of hours later, I noticed that I had a blanket over me, a pillow next to my head and my ‘stuff’ (glasses, magazines, camera) had been thoughtfully placed on the empty seat next to me…….must have been one of the crew……see….it’s these LITTLE things on SQ that never cease to amaze me. And all so discretely and gracefully done without any fanfare.
The flight from ADL to Sin is around 1 hour shorter than MEL-SIN, but a refreshment is still served prior to landing.
Satay and fried rice….now, I have to admit….this looked like shit. It tasted ok though, but not exactly well presented.
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0704.jpg

Landed in Singapore; “welcome to Singapore….and to all Singaporeans, a warm welcome home…”. Cleared immigration and out in arrivals hall within 15 mins with my bags….Changi is hard to beat; I don’t know of any other airport that can consistently do this.

It was a busy 6 hours. Caught up with some relatives, had dinner, went for a swim at Chinese swimming club, went to parkway parade to get stuff. Jam packed!!
Was back at Changi’s T3 by 9.45pm for my 11.40pm SQ 26 flight to JFK.
Checked in via the first class lounge and for some reason, the security on today’s flight was insane. And I mean INSANE…..like…they opened my suitcase and even went through my clothes and looked between my underwear, etc. I asked if there was a problem, and the security officer just smiled and said there was extra security on today’s flight without any reason.
Even at the boarding gate, every passenger had ALL their carry on bags searched. Annoying, but it was clear that something was not ‘standard’ on this flight.

Boarded via door 1L and turned LEFT (one of the great joys in life). Warmly greeted again by name and shown to my seat, 2A. Tonight’s bird was 9V-SPQ, one of SQ’s newer 744s. She still looked immaculate, in my opinion. In First at least.
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0710.jpg
Oh, ALRIGHT…..if you insist…..I’ll have some DOM 2000.
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0706.jpg
The inflight supervisor came over, introduced himself and welcomed me on board, had a chat about my conference in Chicago, Melbourne, etc etc…very friendly.

Shortly before the doors closed, a group of people boarded through door 1L…I turned around and saw: The Prime minister of Singapore, his wife, Ho Ching, and their son with a few security personnel….strangely, they were headed towards business class. (???...I was quite baffled). This explains the high security, but surely they would have flown in the first cabin? Maybe they were all ensconced on the upper deck for security purposes….whatever. I don’t really have much affection for the PAP and their culture of KIASU-ism, so let’s just leave it there.

Changi was very busy this close to midnight and the usual rush hour for European flights to depart meant that we had to wait 30 mins before leaving the gate. Eventually, we took off into the night sky bound for FRA. I just love the front cabin of the 744….just the angles when you look out of the windows, the cocoon shape of the cabin, the noise of the nose gear right beneath you as well as the familiar thumping sound as the beat thunders down the runway…..all so enjoyable and glorious. I LERV it.
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0720.jpg
Supper was served shortly after take off:
Entrée: Tian of crabmeat with avocado and cold spicy gazpacho: refreshing.
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0725.jpg
Soup: cream of celery and smoked chicken soup. Huge chunks of smoked chicken…loads of flavour.
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0726.jpg
Main course: seared Chilean seabass with horseradish veloute, white asparagus and crushed basil potatoes: delicious….the seabass was buttery and flakey, just melted in my mouth.
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0729.jpg
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0732.jpg
I declined dessert…..just too FULL.

After dinner, I got ready for bed and on return from the toilet, my bed was made. I slept for 8 hours straight…..BLISS.
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0733.jpg

Woke up somewhere over Poland I think.
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0742.jpg
Breakfast Juice (orange….freshly squeezed)

The assorted Dim Sum with har gow, siew Mai, vegetable and lobster dumpling. beautifully presented. Tasted wonderful too.
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0743.jpg
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0744.jpg

To be followed by:
Singapore style prawn noodles....this was a KICK ARSE version of this dish; just like you would find in a hawker centre in Singapore
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0752.jpg

After breakfast, I got up for a wander down to……cattle class and gasped…only to quickly return back to my seat in 2A. It was a warzone back there!
It reminded me of this:

Hilarious……
“the stools of first class passengers are perfectly formed and odour-free”
LOL

The toilets in First class were well stocked and pretty much cleaned after EVERY USE. I know this because every time I went in, the toilet paper edges had been folded into a pointy shape (you know how they do this in hotels, after they have cleaned your room?) and everything wiped down. The steward told me they usually lock the 2 first class toilets to prevent business class passengers from using them so that at least 1 or 2 are always available to F passengers without having to wait. Noice…..

More cabin shots shortly before landing.

A rabbit spotted whilst taxiing to the gate at FRA!
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0773.jpg

On arrival at the gate at FRA, even before FIRST passengers were allowed to disembark, the Prime Minister and his entourage left the aircraft first, followed by MOI. Those men in black….and yes…they wore shades.

FRA:
OK, I will say this again….I just hate FRA. It just doesn’t work well. Poorly designed, poorly signposted, the senator lounge for SQ first passengers is like….a kilometre’s walk away, one has to clear security to get to it (dumb) only to have the process repeated when you board again; the senator lounge DOESN’T EVEN HAVE FREE WIFI…..i mean…hullo. This is Lufthansa’s home base is it not and how much does it cost to provide free wifi for business class passengers in your own HOME port. Makes no sense to me. I often find security rude and patronizing. OK, rant over.

FRA was like a bad dream, but soon, I was back in 2A
Once again, and, as always, a wonderful crew welcomed me onboard for the short hop across the Atlantic. We left on time.
2 meals were served on this flight:
Breakfast:
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0800.jpg
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0802.jpg
Nasi Lemak which was surprisingly good, ex FRA. The stewardess said that the malay food ex FRA was not always the best, but today’s was an exception. She also said there were a few stations that she would never EVER order the Asian meal options from: DME, Sao Paolo and BCN. Good to know. We then chatted about all sort of things…….let me set the record straight: SQ girls are NOT robotic…on every flight without exception, I have found them warm, genuine, friendly, even intelligent and very socially confident and spontaneous.
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0805.jpg

A further light meal was served prior to JFK. (‘light’ is never THAT light in First Class)
Entrée: Spicy seared prawn, caviar, cauliflower custard and tomato soup. This was an incredible dish….intense flavours and very tasty.
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0809.jpg
Main course: Oriental Lobster with ginger, Spring onion, leafy greens and fried rice
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0811.jpg
Dessert: warm brandied cherries, vanilla ice cream and pistachio nuts: best dessert so far, I almost asked for seconds, but we were going to land soon.
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0813.jpg

Approach into JFK.
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0819.jpg

Landed on time in JFK and had to rush over to the adjacent jetblue terminal to catch a connecting flight to ORD. Yes, it was traumatic to go from SQ first to jetblue, but all in all, for Jetblue does a pretty good job. They have nice well designed terminals, free wifi, friendly service. I would choose them any day over a legacy carrier.

Chicago is a great city and I always love going there. Discovered this great steak place called Mastro’s…wonderful.

http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0830.jpg
Ok, seriously, this is what they call, in America, a SIDE DISH....ridiculous (!!!).

The return flight June 8th Sq 25 JFK-FRA-SIN

As it is getting late, I will mainly show pics of the return leg with less commentary.

JFK terminal 4’s check in is a mess. The first class counter was staffed by this dragon lady who told me off for having carry on luggage that weighed 9kg and she made me take out 2 kgs and carry it separately. I simply just put it back into the 1 carry bag after check in.
Had a shower in the Virgin clubhouse. Didn’t eat anything and had to head to the gate as the lounge was pre-security.
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0952.jpg

The boarding gate was complete chaos.

Out bird tonight was 9V-SPO another one of SQ’s newer 744s. She was, again, in immaculate condition.

Dinner:
Chilled Malossal Caviar with condiments and melba toast…an SQ First classic

Token Caesar salad
http://i1139.photobucket.com/albums/n559/lionellim7/ASCO%202011%20Chicago/IMG_0977.jpg
I know it’s street food, but it was cold and I just felt like this prawn dumpling soup with egg noodles…..really hit the spot.

OK, it’s 3am, so I’m just going to have to stop now.
I may finish off the rest of the report tomorrow, but at least there’s quite a few pics to keep you guys happy.

SQ first is really a special experience and there really is no other airline that does this as consistently well as SQ. The crew are just exceptional.
One thing I found hilarious though was listening to the Singapore girls make German announcements with their Singaporean accents……..I don’t speak German, but it just doesn’t sound quite right….so funny.

All in all, yet another wonderful series of flights with SQ, the world’s finest airline.

Thanks for reading and any questions or comments, most welcome.

I also have pics of the full menu from all sectors if anyone is interested.

Cheers,

Qantasclub

Dont worry too much about finishing off although we would appreciate it. Absolutely phenomenal trip report really appreciate it!

I'm surprised that the PM of Singapore does not fly on his own government aircraft although it may prove to be a cost saving measure.

You really seem to indulge in seafood, one of the small fears that I have is that when eventually God willing I am able to fly F on SQ the food options would be too "fancy" (I don't really know how to word it ) that I wont like them. SQ is big on seafood and I don't eat any whatsoever.

Needless to say again brilliant trip report.

Fantastic trip report - thank you. I'm a Brit who visits Australia as often as I can, and I love the country too; I have flown in and out of ADL many times, and I agree, it is a great airport. I believe it has been rated as Australia's number one domestic airport. First Class on SQ is my remaining aviation ambition, but might be a few years before I will be able to do it; in the meantime, your trip report will suffice!

Excellent trip report! Looks like you had some good flights with SQ. Seen lots of reports on SQ's F, and it never ceases to amaze me. The food looks incredible! That soup with the caviar, on your FRA-JFK looks really good!

I've been through JFK's Terminal 4 many times, and it always seems to be chaos. So many different airlines, destinations, and flights that all leave very close together! I used to always see the SQ 747 at JFK when NWA used to fly their A319's into JFK, but now that Delta utilizes Terminal 3 with those flights, I haven't been able to catch it as much.

Thanks for sharing!

Great report QClub,
SQ look to cook fish really well as evidenced by your photographs. Also, I would die for that Chicago steak right now!
Looking forward to your next report,

I TOTALLY LOVED THIS REPORT!!! (Sorry caps intentional) Not only did you truly experience a first class experience but you are equally hilarious LOL. Honestly, every single report here of SQ seems to have a consistent product in F class.

Not sure if you remembered my last Adelaide report... it is indeed my favourite airport in Australia, next to Brisbane. It is so damn uncluttered within it is such a joy to use! Not to mention you can walk right up to the gate without a boarding pass to take pictures of the plane (at the domestic side). Very nice...

Quoting Qantasclub (Thread starter):
then as my computer booted up and the Skype ‘woooosh’ sound came on, EVERYONE looked towards my direction….oooops!

LOL!!! It happened to me at work as well. The "WOOOSH" came on and my colleague went "wei... no chatting on Skype". Hahahaha...

Beautiful, beautiful, BEAUTIFUL!!! Oh wait, as the Aussies say "What a beaut!"... Adelaide is one of my favourite cities in the world. You chose to seat at the correct side of the a/c. Last time I took off towards the coast and had a view of Glenelg instead, not as picturesque as yours.

Quoting Qantasclub (Thread starter):
I have to admit….this looked like shit. It tasted ok though, but not exactly well presented

There is no way you can glamourously present satay sauce. No matter what you do, it will look like the morning after result in the toilet after a night of binge eating something dirty by the road. Same goes for curry and rendang.

Quoting Qantasclub (Thread starter):
strangely, they were headed towards business class. (???...I was quite baffled).

I am not sure if you have been following the elections in Singapore only concluded a few months ago. PAP won with their LOWEST EVER margin since independence. One of the "hot" issues angering the public was salaries of the people in office, this has generated so much momentum on the ground that a grou;p has been set up to "review" the situation (whatever the fuck that will lead to...). Perhaps that's why PM has taken a PR spinner's advise to fly JCL - pure speculation here!!!

Quoting Qantasclub (Thread starter):
Main course: seared Chilean seabass with horseradish veloute, white asparagus and crushed basil potatoes: delicious….the seabass was buttery and flakey, just melted in my mouth.

I have seen different variations of this "chilean sea bass" on SQ and had the honour of trying one. I agree, it melts in your mouth.

Quoting Qantasclub (Thread starter):
After breakfast, I got up for a wander down to……cattle class and gasped…only to quickly return back to my seat in 2A. It was a warzone back there!

Brat...
Quoting Qantasclub (Thread starter):
The steward told me they usually lock the 2 first class toilets to prevent business class passengers from using them so that at least 1 or 2 are always available to F passengers without having to wait. Noice…..

Noice induh-eed to buh-ee ee-fluent? Hahahaha... You have watched one too many episodes of Kath and Kim!

Quoting Qantasclub (Thread starter):
the senator lounge DOESN’T EVEN HAVE FREE WIFI

From the pictures I have seen, the LH Lounge at FRA does look like an office canteen.

Quoting Qantasclub (Thread starter):
let me set the record straight: SQ girls are NOT robotic…on every flight without exception, I have found them warm, genuine, friendly, even intelligent and very socially confident and spontaneous.

Hello, not everyone has the privilege of flying up front all the time on SQ like you do. Back aft in steerage, they are as robotic as they come. Heck, even in JCL sometimes as they train to advance in their class of service. Remember my SIN-ADL trip report??

Satay: not as good as MH’s I’m sure

Damn skippy... SQ's always managed to look like the instant ones from NTUC Fairprice. Unlike MH's which is all fatty and dripping with grease - complete with that shitty morning after peanut sauce.

Speaking of MH, I'll be making my way down under next week to Perth. And guess what? MH it is!!!!

Hey Qantasclub,

A wonderful report on SQ's F and J offering again. Thanks for making me jealous once again, after your Suites report a few months back!
Quoting Aeroflot001 (Reply 1):
I'm surprised that the PM of Singapore does not fly on his own government aircraft although it may prove to be a cost saving measure.

If the PM ever gets a government aircraft I wonder how many Singaporeans will protest (including me!).... Well but without a government aircraft he'll be pretty happy with his S$3.4m per annum salary, 8 month bonus and tons of other stuff.

I agree 100% here. If they fly in F there might be complaints about how they are spending the taxpayer's money again.   Maybe if the vote percentage continues to drop we might just see them in Y next time! Makes me wonder how long have they not flown in Y though.

Nice report & pictures, thanks for sharing.

Out of interest, any reason you went SIN-FRA-JFK and did not take the SIN-EWR direct?

Quoting Qantasclub (Thread starter):
, I will say this again….I just hate FRA.

- Agreed, love it for spotting but rubbish to connect through.

Quoting Qantasclub (Thread starter):
the senator lounge DOESN’T EVEN HAVE FREE WIFI…..i mean…hullo. This is Lufthansa’s home base is it not and how much does it cost to provide free wifi for business class passengers in your own HOME port.

- Insane, business lounges should have free wifi, it's just a basic requirement!

Quoting Qantasclub (Thread starter):
JFK terminal 4’s check in is a mess. The first class counter was staffed by this dragon lady who told me off for having carry on luggage that weighed 9kg and she made me take out 2 kgs and carry it separately

- Seriously, what's the point, your carrying it, stupid!

Quoting Qantasclub (Thread starter):
Soya sauce chicken….ok….this was horrible. Dry chicken and gelatinous rice. Bad.

- Worst looking meal of the lot, I thought all the others looked good presentation wise, ok exception being the salad substitution in FRA.

All in all seems the SQ standard is still alive, good to see.

Cheers

Mark

You really seem to indulge in seafood, one of the small fears that I have is that when eventually God willing I am able to fly F on SQ the food options would be too "fancy" (I don't really know how to word it ) that I wont like them. SQ is big on seafood and I don't eat any whatsoever.

You really don't have to worry at all....there are plenty of other non-seafood options avaliable as you will see when I post the menus for the flights up. Asian's love seafood...it's a given, so there are always seafood options but you definitely won't go hungry if you hate seafood.

Quoting timb777 (Reply 6):
Also, I would die for that Chicago steak right now!

I am still dreaming about this steak. I think the difference is that it came from a corn fed cow...not sure. I went back a second time to make sure it wasn't a fluke and it was just as good. Served with Lobster Mash (pieces of lobster and mash potato in a cream, buttery sauce) as truffle and crab gnocchi. Comes with a heart attack in the next few weeks....

I'm glad to hear this because the PAP needs to understand that Singapore won't fall apart with the existence of opposition candidates....it's HEALTHY. Their Kiasuism SHITs me completely. People have the right to have a voice at the very least.

A disgrace for a homeside lounge. But I guess they have poured alot more resources into their first class terminal which SQ first passengers aren't allowed access to. But it was grey and functional......very German I guess....and very Lufthansa....just the bare minimum.

I asked a few people why this was so and they said sometimes, if it's a private visit, they fly business. I can't see them in Y anytime.

Mark, I wanted to just experience the old SQ 744 first cabin before it disappears at the end of this year...and i t WILL happen, finally, after all these years. Also...more flying, more meals.....you know. This crazy obsession we all have. I should add that I REALLY like your trip reports too, Mark....have been reading them for years., so well done yourself!

Oh yes you're right to take the 744 before it goes off line.

Quoting Qantasclub (Thread starter):
there were a few stations that she would never EVER order the Asian meal options from: DME, Sao Paolo and BCN.

Yes, yes. As a rule aviod Asian meals from European stations. An exception is Indian meals. Somehow, Indian meals gets done reasonably well in Europe and US. Best from Middle East and India. Stay away at all cost Indian meals from NE Asia stations.

Quoting Qantasclub (Thread starter):
but all in all, for Jetblue does a pretty good job. They have nice well designed terminals, free wifi, friendly service. I would choose them any day over a legacy carrier.

Totally agree.

SQ girls are NOT robotic

Of late I'm seeing that in economy too.
On my recent flight (early June SIN-SHA) in economy that was almost 100% full, they were really friendly even the guys. Once they knew that I was the i/c for my group, the crew in my section were very nice to me. During service, I got double packets of peanuts, double drinks and asked if I'd like extra for my mains . . . said I'm deserved it for my working trip. Wow !!

Some silly skinny F&B executives in SQ who don't like fats, grease and chared pieces on satay.

Many thanks for sharing!!

SQ C/F class products can do no wrong. I consider SQ to be the best airlines providing the best products, ever!!
No middle eastern carriers can beat them. SQ set standard of premium cabin so high that everyone is just trying to catch up.

Look at the First class products on Boeing 744! It has been out in the marker for so long but still be one of the most exclusive out there! Givenchy design (and premium paid) is all worth it!

I'll surely miss SQ F class in the 747 noes

Great report!

I too have been unimpressed with SQ's new website. It just doesn't look as good as the previous version - but more importantly, doesn't work half of the time!

SQ really do have quite an impressive new regional J product.

Did you use The Private Room at SIN before your flight to FRA?

I loathe FRA airport too - the Lufthansa lounges do at least have free wifi now (I think this started at the beginning of July), but the Senator lounge in particular is appalling.

Whenever I read about SQ F, I read good things. I think this is the first report I've seen that didn't praise one of the main courses!

Wonderful report

I think that the First Class on the SQ 747 is still the classest after all these years and the wonderful plates and perfect service.Your report was perfect for detailing the experience most of us will never get to try.
Many thats for that.
