Reason For Trip
Another business conference in Frankfurt, but this time I decided to do something special. After going over Paris a day earlier to visit some friends, I decided to treat myself to a flight from Lufthansa Private Jet from Le Bourget to Frankfurt. This is one trip I am really looking forward to!

Preflight
Touched down and parked in a remote stand. But being the usual efficient TG F ground service meant a hostess and a private van was already waiting to shuttle me to the main terminal and to the Royal First Lounge.
Enjoying a smoke and quick drin.

I opted to get a massage at the Royal Orchid Spa before taking a nice hot shower and just relax in the Royal First Lounge before my flight to CDG.
Room @ Royal Orchid Spa

BKK seems really quiet today, I guess its almost the end of the busy European summer. Even the usually full flight from KUL was only getting a load of about 40% in J and 60% in Y. Like clockwork another hostess pick me up from the lounge about 10 mins before ETD.

Inflight
As mentioned earlier, a really light load in F with just me and one other pax. Its really nice to be back in the suites of this B773ER albeit on lease from Jet Airways.

Visit to the loo

More cabin views
Inflight Mags

Menu

From the get go service was fantastic, I guess having only 2 pax to handle also made a great difference in workload. Flight itself was uneventful and I watched Kung Fu Panda 2 while I had the meal.

And more cabin views

Meal time

After that I had a good sleep waking up about 1.5hrs before landing.
Cabin in the dark and lovely sky lighting

Awoken to the rising sun and after freshening up, breakfast was served

Finals picks on top of descent and tarmac views on early arrivals into CDG

All in all it was an excellent flight and besides the fantastic crew on board I guess it was also down to the really nice inflight product coutesy of 9W.

Route: Paris Le Bourget - Frankfurt (FRA)
Flight: Lufthansa Private Jet (Netjets Europe)
ETD: 1100
ETA: 1200
Seat: Private Jet
Aircraft: Hawker 400XP
Flight time: 45mins
Registration: CS-DMZ
1st Flight: June 2008

Preflight
Prearranged limo from Lufthansa Private Jet pick me up on time from the Weatin Paris and dropped me off at the Net Jets Terminal at Le Bourget. One of the pilots was on hand to meet me and after a quick chat we were already walking towards the aircraft.
CS-DMZ, a 3 year old Hawker 400XP taking me to FRA

Inflight
Nice comfy cabin on this Hawker 400XP. Some inflight catering was provided too. I am starting to love private jets now! Always hard to go back to the norm after you have experienced something better hahahaha! Flight itself was great and most of my time was spent playing around the cabin and taking pics like a little child with a new toy. All Net Jets Europe planes are registered in Portugal and my pilots today are from the Nederlands and UK. Some nice onboard catering was provided and also a well stocked drinks cabinet.

And the taxi begins

A Global 5000 in front gave us a mouthful of thrust!

And there she is about to take off before us

Finally its time for us to take off

The Hawker 400 is a really nice light jet with agile performance. I have also had a chance to go on a demo flight on a Phenom 300 a few months ago and I personally think that the Phenom 300 is now the benchmark for all light jets in terms of space and amenities. I have to fully admit one of the main advantages of private jets is the massive amount of time saved. No security check, no check in lines, and air traffic will always try to give priority to you. Basically there is only one main factor that you will be at the mercy of and that is mother nature. To add to my excitement, we had to perform a missed approach at FRA due to a warning light on one of the landing gear, after 15mins of going thru all checklists, we finally landed in FRA.
Performing the go around an making a pattern around FRA again

My parting words are that Lufthansa Private Jets run and excellent, professional and very courteous staff all around, like in the words ofthe Governator: I'll be back!

1st Flight: 23 Feb 1990

Preflight
After 4 days of work in Frankfurt, its now finally time to head home. Arrived at FRA with plenty of time to spare due to me wanting to avoid rushing through check ins and tax refunds. After formalities was done we spent the rest of our time walking around the shops and tried to spend as little time as possible in the crap hole called Senator Lounge. Although its a new lounge its full of people, decided to join my colleagues in the business lounge and surprisingly its really quiet and peaceful. And that was where we stayed till boarding was announced.

HS-TGJ waiting for me

Tails of 2 Star Alliance heavies

Inflight
Boarding already begun in earnest by the time we got to the gate. Boarding for me was immediate and soon i am in my comfortable confines of seat 1A.

My mess already piling up even before take off

Menu

A wet evening in Frankfurt

Full load in all sectors today with the only 2 empty seats being in F. Crew were all familiar faces and i am already relaxed for this long hauler to BKK.
And mealtime begins

Getting relaxed and ready for sleep

Soon enough we were already on final descent when I woke up, so there was no time for breakfast for me, just a quick change out of my pyjamas and then its seat belts on and hello Bangkok. Another perfect flight from my beloved TG

No really, excellent report on some amazing trips, a very enjoyable read. Wish I could experience First class on my travels, never mind the private jet!

Hi!

Many thanks for the report. I would love to fly on Thai airways again since I haven't done so since the 90s. The business jet looked great. I think there's a Hawker business jet in the Science Museum in London but I'm not entirely sure what make it is.

Keep on travelling!

Many thanks,

Pierre

Once again, amazing trip report from your 'usual' trip on First class! I'm very happy and delighted for your ROP Platinum (by invitation only) status!

I am still following your trip reports everywhere. I've been busy since came back from the bay area.
My trip on Asiana Economy was super jetlagged both way as I'm not used to Economy transpacific! lol
Next time I'll be on the OZ Quadra Smartium though! But it shall be late next year

I'll send some thank you stuff to you shortly   Sorry for being so late!!

I must say that it looks a lot roomier inside than I would expect. Such a great and exclusive way to travel! How was the transfer in FRA from LH private jet to TG?

Cheers

Hi Lari ! Hey how come you didn't give me a call when you were in Jakarta...i flew out this morning from CGK-HKG, catching CX884 on 25/8 from HKG to LAX. Yes, believe it or not, sometimes it takes longer to process local passports than foreign ones !!!

I was actually in FRA for 3 days before flying off, but i did ask them what happens if my transfer was direct and they said they can coordinate with TG and after landing they will put me in the HON/F LH terminal, and when boarding is about to commence they will take my by private car directly to the departure gate

Me and my GF is going to Australia and Thailand in January. So four flights in TG F here I come, and my first in the 340-600  and the leased Jet 777-300s

Of course I am still interested in the inaugural 380 flight next year, but I have heard some rumors that it will be FRA instead of LHR...

Trust me, after you have been on the leased 9W birds, you would not want to fly even the A346 in F hahahahaha

Quoting SASDC8 (Reply 14):

Well this is TG afterall, and i think FRA is a most likely first destination. Maybe its also due to prestige? I mean SQ already flies A380 to LHR, and MH will do so a few mths before TG gets their first A380, whilst no main Asian carrier is using the A380 yet to FRA, so might be a good PR point of view for TG, and also FRA is one of their best performing long haul routes!

Perhaps but the 340-600 is still the most beautiful and quiet aircraft out there

I guess the first 380 destination will be FRA or LHR, either way I am in for the inaugural flight

Either TG has the strongest F loads out there, or it has a disproportionate us flying them . I can't believe your (yet another) incredible report on Thai. Thanks a lot. The private jet experience looks amazing - can you please adopt me and take me with you!

Hi Alex, actually on more than 50% of my TG F flights, especially out or into FRA, F is usually more than 70% full. hahahah no need to adopt you, but will definitely take you along with me should you be in the same place as me. as you know i just got back from the US and got the chance to fly in the Citation V, Citation Encore and Legacy 600 for my domestic hops...will post the TR soon.

= Haha - I have actually had a chance of flying 2 of those aircraft and am curious to see what your thoughts were.

PS: Thanks for turning down my request to be adopted  .
