Background
I couldn't resists "First minute promotion" and booked ticket for first available dates. This was my first visit in Poland and first flight with LOT. Luckily for me SPLTA decided to show me around the airport.
One interesting visitor in Sofia:
British:
08.09.2011/14:40 15:20
LO632 Sofia-Warsaw
1,070 km
Embraer 170 SP-LIA
New menu inspired by one of the top chefs in Poland – Robert Sowa:
Next few pictures are thanks to SPLTA:
Enter air:
LOT:
There were lot of spotters there and I guess this was the reason:
Too white for me.
In my ToDo list:
After our spotting we went to traditional polish restaurant:
I stayed at Hotel Pulawska Residence very good location for morning flights. Next morning:
To New York?
09.09.2011/11:10 13:42
LO631 Warsaw-Sofia
1,070 km
Embraer 170 SP-LDC
Load factor on both flights ~70-80%
See you next month:
Conclusion:
My first visit in Poland was just great and I cant wait to go there again in October.
LOT - nice and clean planes, good catering.
WAW - modern and well organized airport

Cheers for the nice TR.
Good to see LOT again, I am looking forward to trying them in November when I go to Warsaw.
Glad you got to meet SPLTA - hopefully I will too
Sofia terminal looks quite empty - is there much happening there?
Mike

Hi eco,
Thanks for this short report on your travels to WAW. You sure got 2 exotic birds, a rare E175 and a special colored E170. I'm glad you had a nice meet with fellow a.netter SPLTA, I'm sure he showed you the right way in Warsaw.

Zdrasti eco,
Very nice TR once more. It's great to see SOF in so many TRs lately (mainly thanks to you).
I have been very close to travel between SOF and WAW on LOT on a few occasions (as part of an itinerary that begun and ended at ORD) but at the end I always seem to find a better alternative in terms of layovers. Thank you for providing us with an insight about this particular route. It seemed like a very pleasurable experience.

Hi A. !
Poland and LOT are both new to me as well so your report gives the idea what to expect
when making the first trip to Poland and maybe with LOT.
And the pics are really good.

Hello eco,
It's always good to see report covering home airport/ carrier. It's a bit different this time, as we have already talked about your flights. Anyway, a nice, short story, thanks for sharing.

To be honest the sandwiches look pretty similar to the old ones. There are more noticeable changes in Business Class menu, I believe.

It was my pleasure to show you around. Too bad the weather was not the best to say the least. Hopefully it's better during your next visit, so you could take better shots.

Glad you liked your short visit to Warsaw or WAW actually. Again, I hope the weather will be better the next time, as you plan to visit the city as well.
Quoting eco (Thread starter): Thank you SPLTA for being such great host.
You're welcome. It was great to meet and have a really interesting chat with you.

Thank you all for your comments, to be honest this trip report is too short and simple for me (that's way I didn't post my A.net meeting trip report here) but I promised to write something. I will have 13 flights with LOT in less than month and this will be perfect opportunity to get better impression on LOT and to write something way better. Plus if everything goes as it was planned there will be special trip report on Jet air and Jetisfaction. Any info about this two airlines will be very useful to me.
Quoting PlaneHunter (Reply 1): SP-LIA is an E175 - the rarest E-Jet version.
I didn't know.
Quoting PlaneHunter (Reply 1): Interesting - so how was the sandwich? Really something special?
Good Cheese and tomatoes sandwich much better then LH's.
Quoting n272wa (Reply 2): Sofia terminal looks quite empty - is there much happening there?
It will be even more emptier this winter because 3 airlines canceled their flights to Sofia.
Quoting Burj (Reply 4): Which restaurant was it? What exactly is the dish/meal in the photo?
We should ask SPLTA.

On my back flight there were some passengers from USA so why don't you try them?

You won't regret. I am really impressed how clean and well organized is Warsaw.

Hope to see trip report here
Quoting SPLTA (Reply 8): Too bad the weather was not the best to say the least.
The weather was just perfect especially after 30 C in Sofia.
