That’s part III of this trip report, SIN-LHR on SQ Suite Class, a class that I though I have to try one in my life!
After a nice sleep in Crowne Plaza Hotel, I headed to back to the SIN Terminal 3
Really nice design
Scale for weighting the luggage, free here!
Arrived the other end of the terminal, the First Class check-in area for SQ
Feel so good
Got my boarding pass and UK landing card, proceed to the special departure lane just opposite to the First check-in area, nice touch!
After the immigration, I arrived the entrance of SilverKris Lounge
Entrance
Once the lounge agent scan my boarding pass, she lead to pass through the Business Class Lounge and First Class lounge, and we arrived The Private Room finally
Quiet at around 11:00am
Family room
With both Mac and PC
I can see the 9V-SKK from The Private Room
Washroom
Dining area
Buffet Corner
When I sat down at the dining area, the attendant provide a menu and asked when I would like to drink
When I asked for an apple juicy, I can even choose for red and green apples.
I had the green one, freshly sqeezed!
While waiting for my food, I got something from the buffet corner
My Cream of Leek & Potato soup arrived, quite good
Follow with the famous U.S. Prime Beef Burger with Foie Gras, Rocket Leaf and Fried Quail Egg
The burger was really good, the seasoning of the beef patty was perfect, highly recommended!!
Poached Lobster Provencale
The portion and taste was fantasic
Lastly, follow be the ice-cream, perfect ending!
So if you fly SQ First Class, I would definitely recommend you to prepare some time to dine in The Private Room, the food offering there can compare with the 5-star hotel standard
Going home? Visit my Friends in Shanghai? London is my choice!
9V-SKK is ready to go, it was the newest SQ’s A380 at the moment
Passed the security check
And it is already boarding at gate A5 for premium passengers
Head of 9V-SKK
Airbridge for Suite only
The crews were waiting already
I was escort to my seat 3K, look like a comfortable seat
Seat pitch
View from my seat
Thanks for cleaning the Suite for me!
That’s the main reason for seat 3K, you’ve got 3 windows
Pre-flight drink -- water
Closet for the jacket
Crew rest for the flight crews
Safety Information Card
The Bose headset, I still prefer my in-ear headset
Light control and AVOD control
Electric output and some other plugs
Estimated flying time was 12 hours and 40 minutes
At the scheduled departure time, there were 4 passengers in Suite including me, in seats 1A, 1K, 3K, 4A, very good distribution. However, few minutes later, a couple came with 5 young kids age between 3-9 years old board, the nightmare started. They took the whole row 2 and seats 3A, 3D, 3F.
The door was closed and we started to push back
While taxiing, I saw 9V-SKB
And the first A330-300 for SQ, 9V-STA
Some cargo flights
After the quiet takeoff, the AVOD was on, lots of choices for Cantonese CD
The crew was busy to set the 2D, 2F to be the children playground with the double bed, and try to accommodate well for those kids
Then some Adult drinks was offered, I tried the Krug
Followed by the Canapé
Satay
And the table was set
Appetizer
Chilled malossol caviar with melba toast and condiments
Appetizer 2
Abalone with sweet pineapple, tofu with brandy cherry and scallop with bai ling mushroom
I like this Appetizer rather than the caviar to be honest, haha
I have book the cook meal, here is the Kyo-Kaiseki
I ask the FA if there is spare Pan seared rolled wagyu beef with enoki mushroom in the main menu, if yes then please let me try one piece, but she gave me the whole dish, but the dish was quite disappointing.
Desert
Red Bean cake which did not in the menu
I was so full so skip the cheeses and fruits, I realized that my meal take 2 hours to finish while other passengers were already sleeping
Washroom visit
Movie time
The FA distributed the bottled water and the LHR fast track pass
I had changed my sleeping suits while the FAs was seting my bed
Folding bed from here
Nice bed!
Where are we now?
Check-out the new feature of SQ’s AVOD, the e-Library
Ooops…………...!!
Manage to sleep for some hours, but after two hours, I was wakened by those kids, who were enjoying the cartoon in their playground. I asked for a pair of ear plugs from the FA, but found that was not that useful… Anyway just stay in the bed for another movie, and 2 hours before landing, the crew was in action to prepare for the light meal
Table was set in the dark cabin as some other passengers were still sleeping
Appetizer
Salad of romaine with poached egg, sautéed lardon, crouton, shaved parmesan cheese and creamy Caesar dressing
Main Course
I have book the cook
Lobster Thermidor with buttered asparagus, slow-roasted vine-ripened tomato and saffron rice
Dessert
Warm caramelized banana tart garnished with fresh raspberry
It would be nice if it come with some vanilla ice-cream
End with a cup of Moroccan Mint Tea
And we are about to arrive London
We docked at Gate 3, what a long walk to the immigration. The immigration took 45 minutes even with fast track and when I arrive the luggage claim, the bag was still not ready yet
Got my bag finally and head to Terminal 4
I stayed ay the YO! Hotel in LHR Terminal 4 as I will have early flight the next morning
The corridor inside, most of the room have few steps, not so luggage friendly
My room, GBP65 for 10 hours, quite expensive!!
I will sure to go those Hotels in Bath road rather than staying here
Inside the room
Walking around in the terminal, discover that CI is using Terminal 4, ah yes, they are in SkyTeam now!

Wow very cool!
Thanks for including the photos of the yotel! I've been told that Delta actually uses these as a pseudo arrivals lounge at LHR for their premium pax...looks small and crowded but at least you can shower before heading into the city...
I agree they are way overpriced for overnight use!
The A-380 lav looks kinda small in the photos...how did it feel to be in it? Was it large enough to comfortably change?

Great report! Food in F looks amazing, especially the food in the Private room. I took that same SIN-LHR flight on the A380 a few years ago (actually, i've done it twice) - it was a great flight even back in economy! Shame about the kids in First. Must have been an expensive ticket for the parents - 7 people in Suites!

A perfect way to travel long haul from South East Asia to Europe. Amazing product from SQ!!
I'm pretty confident that the family is someone famous lol You should have made friends with them lol
Thank you so much for sharing all the beautiful pictures you have taken from your flight!!

Great coverage of SQ suites. This is traveling on a very high level!

Uf, up until now the flight seemed so peaceful and perfect, but after I've read this it all smashed into pieces I hope they were not too much of trouble. It seems strange how can a family with five children travel first class.

SQ Suites seems like one of the finest if not the finest way to travel in a commercial airliner. Everything looks amazing from the lounge at SIN to the fantastic cuisine you got onboard. Just one quick question, do SQ offer an amenity kit or do you just ask the crew for any needs?

Beautiful. I read up a few of your past trip reports and especially with this one, the pictures you take define good TR photography! You capture what needs to be captured really well, from the cabins to the food.
I'm jealous! My classmates had trips on the Suites earlier this year as well and the reviews were as good as yours. Cant wait to try it!

For the Yotel, I can go Hilton or Marriot for about the same price, what I save is the money for the hotel hoppa bus and I can walk around the terminals
The washroom on SQ's A380 deduct some points for the suite experience, it is just 1.5x of economy WC in size (The one in A side is larger than K side) and if you compare it with CX's 747 and EK's A380, it is totally unacceptable.
Quoting Quokka (Reply 5): It keeps getting better! The SQ Suites experience is something else. From the Private Room with its six star restaurant to the accommodation on board.
For the food, I will definitely prefer those in the private room rather the onboard food.
Quoting readytotaxi (Reply 6): Many thanks for that wonderful insight, great photos of a wonderful product.
How on earth did you manage so much food.
I do agree with you about the young children, they just do not mix well with a Premium product.
Again,great pics, thanks.
Yes, I eat alot......haha

They do have pajama and amenity kit (With lotion, mosturizers..), you can find other things such as comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving kit inside the washroom
