Today I came back from my vacations in the USA. I spent two weeks in New York and mainly in Florida

Anyway, I had free tickets with Continental Airlines to Florida (but due all flights were full on april 27 I flow US Airways back to New York).

My trip began on april 12 with Continental Airlines flight 79 nonstop service from Zürich to Newark, aircraft was a Boeing 767-200 and my seat was 31L. The plane was about 70 % full. This was my first Continental flight ever and I really loved it. The crew was very friendly and helpfull on the whole flight and a lot of the Flight Attendants spoke german. The safety video from Continental was one of the best I ever saw and all the safety was also made in german. Every seat had a PTV on this 762 aircraft. They came around with hot towels and newspapers from the US and Switzerland. The food was good, there was a choice of beef or chicken, then we got a salad and a dessert and before the lunch they served drinks and peanuts. They gave always only a cup of drink not the whole cun. We never got real cutlery, everything was on plastic. After the dinner the crew was gone and came not very often around with drinks. A flight attendant said the nicest words ever to me on a airplane.. she said to me that I am the most handsome passenger she ever had on a plane. smile... she was a very nice lady! Before arriving in New York we get a small sandwich and a drink. The Boeing 767-200 had the new interior like the Boeing 777 and so the 762 looked very nice and roomy inside.
We had bad weather in New York and I saw not a lot. Anway, Newark airport is very nice!

I spent two amazing days in NewYork, oh I love this city to much!

April 14, Newark - Orlando, Continental flight 592, departing at 6.35pm. My mate and me we were standby passengers, due the flight was overbooked, but we get the two latest seats, each seas was a middleseat, mine was 34E, the latet row of this Boeing 757-200. The flight was completly full, they offered even to one passengers a 300 USD bonus and First Class seat on the next flight to MCO because one passengers had to go on the CO 592 flight. Overall Continental has the most friendly staff from all US airlines which I had been on so far. The service was bad, as every domnestic service in the USA is, since 9.11. We got a very small sandwich (we could choose between ham or turkey), baby carrots and two drink services. But very friendly crew and nice announcements always.

Then on april 27 we flow US Airways shuttle from Fort Lauderdale to New York La Guardia aiprort on flight US 1256. I had seat 2F, since this was an all economy seat flight. Aircraft was a Airbus A320. The flight was almost full, but I had to go through very stupid security control in fron of the gate! I love the USAirways livery, but the crew was horrible. 3 Flights Attentants compare to 5 Flight Attendants on Continental flight on a 757 to MCO. There were no nice words from the Crew. We got also a very small sandwich, chips and just one drink on this 3 hours flight! Just a cup of drink, no cun. Then after the service the crew was gone for the rest of the flight. So bad, the crew was seating on their crewseats and they were studying the newspapers. I had a bad impression of USAirways... although it was a Shuttle flight.

And finally yersterday on april 28th the return flight to Zürich on Continental flight 78, departing on 5.55 pm. Again a Boeing 767-200 with the new interior (I think all 762 from CO have the new interior). The plane was almost empty in Coach Class, but almost full in Businessfirst!!! The crew was nice, the flying time was very short (6h 32min). The whole crew did a professional job and very good announcements and again all in german. Dinner was a choice of beef and chicken again and in the night there only one or two drink (water) services. Breakfast was very small, it was more a snack! We arrived 50 minutes to early at Zürich airport and we had to use stairs for leaving the aircraft, due all gates were busy at Terminal B.

Overall Continental is a very good airline, the service was very good and they had good details such as hot towels and newspapers (but not yesterday because it was sunday) and the Crew was firendly on all flights. Service was good, although all cups and all cutlery was on plastic.
I was disappointed from USAirways....

hope you enjoyed it. Sorry for mistakes, but I still have some jetlag....

Nice report!
Did the plastic cutlery have a logo on them? CX have got their logo on the plastic stuff, which is quite a good design for plastic stuff. Makes the cutlery look a bit classy.

Hey there.... thank's for your comments. I just would like to mention following details. On Continental internations flights you can take the earphones at home, the crew don't collect them again. And on domnestic flight you buy once earphones and then you can use it for further Continental flights. And on my Continental Airlines and on my USAirways flight the seat pitch was amazing...very confortable

Gardermoen: The cuttlery had no logo on Continental Airlines. However the paper and plastic cups on which the drinks were served, they had the Continental logo.

Sabena332: I will write you an e-mail soon. cu.

Cmk10: The USAirways shuttle flight was from Fort Lauderdale to New York La Guardia. But on LGA airport in NYC I saw plenty of USAirways shuttle gates. Also I mentioned a lot of Delta Express planes at Fort Lauderdale airport. I think airports like FLL have a lot of tourists....

Some Delta Shuttle and US Airways Shuttle aircraft are used for non-shuttle flights on weekends due to the reduced number of shuttle services between DCA, LGA and BOS on Saturdays and Sundays.
So maybe this was a shuttle aircraft, but a regular US Airways flight.

Tristar500: this could be possible. On my ticket there was no shuttle sticker or something. However the service was poor, but the seat pitch was amazing. Have you any experiences with USAirways? I like their livery and the flight from Fort Lauderdale to New York La Guardia, because we overflow NYC very well and I saw Manhattan from the air.
