The real Finncom and the better end of Finland

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101075.jpg

Hyvää päivää, dear readers,

what should you do, when you follow the strong rumours from the nordic aviation scene about Finncomm airlines?.
It´s some years ago since I was in Finland the last time. And I was not on Finncomm domestic till now.
Reason enough to consult Mr. S., the usually relaxed guy from the scheduling department, for a new challenge.
"S., I want to go to Finland to fly on Finncom. You know a new departure airport is necessary and some interesting flights in between".
Well, a couple of days later, there is no response.
Finally I try to call him: "S., is something wrong there, no interesting connections?".
"Sure there are. What about eight legs during two days, eight different plane types scheduled on six airlines.
And don´t forget that there is flight no. 700 around these eight legs".
Ok, now that´s something for me!.

Here´s the link to my latest experience in Slovenia, only four days ago

Adria Across The Alps And Nice Company In LJU (by FLIEGER67 Oct 16 2011 in Trip Reports)

That´s the actual departure airports map

and the latest flown routes

Tripreporter´s Flüge auf einer größeren Karte anzeigen

Leg no. 3 around these trip is scheduled ex MUC at noon. There are five flights per day nonstop STR-MUC by LH and it´s regional partners.
The fare is usually acceptable when you book well in advance.
Not here, there are two possible departures and both are well above 150.00 Euro´s. But thanx to Mr.S. there is also another way to go for MUC. Not that it is a standard routing and also not that this example is bookable on the airlines website, sure nothing for the standard pax to fly from STR to MUC via Berlin!.

The routing looks like this in the end:

There is a message from S. on the mobile.
"Everything is prepared to catch your goal, good luck".
"Thanx S., what are you going to do today?".
"Well, with your final place to stay in mind, I´ve ordered a bottle of Kossu, that´s the clear stuff to entertain the finnish people all year round and Altia confirmed, it´s on the way to my office.
Aside that, we´re in the middle of the crawfish season, so this is also on delivery".
"Sounds good, enjoy!".

Service airberlin AB 6526 operated by TuiFly
Scheduled: 06.25 // 07.40

Well, not that I´ve mentioned it earlier, I want to stay away from these early morning departures.
Next time, maybe.
The cellphone calls me at 03.30 am, on the road at 04.30 am and at the airport at 05.30 am.
Heavy rain along the way. No, this is for sure not the best way to start a travel day, hopefully no delays.
Security is ok, close to no time to wait.
Gate 333 for me today, no lounge with AB
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101001.jpg
S. fixed the first leg of the day by Ebookers, the fare real acceptable, 40.00 Euro´s.
Strange, the Ebookers confirmation doesn´t show an airline reservation code, only the internal reference number.
We know, that this is necessary with OLCI. No success on the phone by the airlines call center, real bad service from AB here. It is only possible to check in at the desks with a booking not done via the AB website itself.
What a joke. Mail contact with Ebookers cleared the situation. They send me the reservation code.
OLCI works well thereafter. 31A, the last row window for me.
The 738 is on schedule, so it looks like at the gate

The first departures of the day leaving STR
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101004.jpg
D-AHFA is waiting, delivered to HapagLloyd at 29.12.1998. The company´s name changed to TuiFly at 15.01.2007. Some months in Canada with CanJet from 01.12.2009 and with Tuifly again since 20.04.2010, running on AB schedules.
There are 28 planes on type in the actual fleet and this is the oldest example.
Leg no. 56 on type, a new entry to my log.
Thin hard fabric seats, the cabin is clean so far.
Well, the other seats in my row are taken, the load is 90 %. Late boarding for me also today, 14 D-F is open and yes, it´s sure ok with me and the exit row!.
Legroom is real good here
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101006.jpg
06.25 am, perfectly ontime, "Tuijet" leaves STR from runway 25. 16 degrees, wet after rain, 50 minutes for TXL.

Cockpit crew is from Germany, no word from the captain but nice and detailed infos inflight from the FO.
Routing is via LEJ at maximum 27000 feet.
Service is a "Laugenstange" and free drinks, not my choice this early morning time.
Strange high clouds on the way

Service AB 6193 operated by airberlin
Scheduled: 09.15 // 10.25

This is the second leg from the Ebookers deal, 40.00 Euro´s, the A319 is on schedule.
But the seatmap during OLCI looks more like an 738 again. 30F, the last row is blocked.
Departure for my flight will go from the oldfashioned central terminal.
This is where a separate security station is at every two or three gates.
Close to no time to wait there.
Well, these centerline leads to my gate A02
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101014.jpg
Coming closer
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101015.jpg
Well, leg no. 57 on the 738 by now. Not that it is planned this way, but it´s a new example for my log, ok so far.
D-ABBD is in service with AB since 16.01.2002, one of 35 active -800 series planes in the fleet.
Old colours on this plane

Now, that´s what I call exclusive, a couple of seaters on the upper level
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101018.jpg
09.10 am, short ahead to schedule, 18 degrees and partly cloudy to abandon TXL.
Cockpit crew is from Germany, the captain with a very nice and detailed welcome during boarding.
2428 meters 08R is the place to go for "Air Berlin" on the 55 minutes hop for MUC
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101019.jpg
The load is 70%. Well, you know, me and late boarding.
Not that I´am in a special relationship with the exit rows,
14F, three for me again
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101020.jpg
Cabin crew is four young female FA´s, all together nice, but nothing really special.
The next 737-800 safety card, shrinking the plane types around this trip to 7 by now

http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101022.jpg
The FO is on the mike with detailed informations inflight in a relaxed style.
Routing is at maximum 28000 feet above DRS and Karlsbad, Czech republic.
Service is the "Laugenstange" again, once more nothing for me.
Cabin view with the dark blue leathers seaters, clean so far
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101023.jpg
Touchdown on the 4000 meters 26R, 10.20 am, short ahead to schedule, 18 degrees, cloudy but dry.
My machine at the gate, MUC T1, no other plane around
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101024.jpg
The next flight will leave from Lufthansa´s terminal 2.
Well, if you´re in immediate need to park you´re Audi car, that´s the way to go here
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101025.jpg
Once again, the booking is done before the Senator status change and once more the LH system doesn´t show any status at all during OLCI, seat 23A for me.
Well, three ladies and me at the First class counters, fixed seconds thereafter and also the extra security station works well.
And leaving from the LH terminal, that´s by all means the Senator lounge as the next place to go
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101026.jpg
Me and not that much other customers around
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101027.jpg

Goodlooking seaters

Ah, there is my flight from gate G37
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101032.jpg

Service FC 375 operated by Finncomm Airlines
Scheduled: 17.30 // 19.00

One more leg around this trip that I´am really looking forward to.
Finnair and Flybe decided after a couple of weeks with rumours up and down that they launch a joint venture to operate domestic and regional flights. Finnair´s part are the activities of Finncomm and Flybe make an allowance with it´s operational spirit, to say it in a positive way.
S. booked this leg directly on the Finncomm website. The fare 65.00 Euro´s. OLCI works perfectly ok.
This is also leg no. 700 since I count it en detail some years ago.
Here is my flight on the screen from gate 20A
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101060.jpg
And why Kemi?. Well, this large city with touristic activities all around the clock. Hustling and bustling with so much offers that you don´t know what to do first, is still a new place to me and the schedule is convenient.
Ok, in reality it´s a small city close to the swedish border at the gulf of Botnia.
Bus boarding as usual with the regional planes also here in HEL.
No lounge for me.
A first view to my machine
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101061.jpg
The AT72 is on schedule. OH-ATM looks like this way.
In service with Finncomm since 13.05.2011 only.
The latest delivery and one of 9 in the fleet.
Also a new entry to my log and leg no. 20 on type
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101062.jpg
Free seating, so not that much time for pix on the apron.
5.25 pm, short ahead to schedule, 23 sunny degrees.
1 hour, 20 minutes to go for "Finncomm" from the 3060 meters 22R.
This is where we come from

Superb nice weather conditions to fly above Finland
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101069.jpg
There are not only two or three islands in Finland, no there are also a few lakes here
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101070.jpg
Convenient and for free
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101071.jpg
Cockpit crew is from Finland, the captain with short informations prior to descent into KEM.
No route informations. Flightlevel is 21000 feet.
Some more clouds close to my destination
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101072.jpg
There is one word only to say about the business in the area: Pulp.
It´s the basic product for all paperworks
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101073.jpg
Touchdown at the 2503 meters 36, 7.05 pm, close to ontime. 17 degrees and also sunny here.
Welcome to Kemi-Tornio airport.

Ah, here it is, under the wing
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101078.jpg
Ready ToGo.fi, no, not more today
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101079.jpg
There is simply no public transport connection between the airport and the city of Kemi, where I am going to stay the night.
A message to the hotel is sure the way to go in such cases.
A quick response later and they managed to have a cab waiting for me. There might be one at the airport but when more pax want to ride a cab, you need to wait till someone returns to the airport. For sure well done here by the hotel.
Where to stay was also a formerly question.
Well, there are not that many offers and it should be as close to the airport as possible.
Hotel Merihovi hits the spot
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101084.jpg
A really nice welcome from the girl at the desk, sure a positive first impression about Kemi.
A very retro place, also advertised this way by the hotel "Glows the spirit of the 50s"
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101082.jpg
It feels this way
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101083.jpg
My large room
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101081.jpg
Clean and silent
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101080.jpg
So, what about the offers here?.
Not sure what this is, but it looks like nice
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101086.jpg
The boat harbour with one of the pulp factories in the background.
Well, nothing to smell this way at all

Sailing boats
http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b305/FLIEGER67/FIN1101/FIN1101087.jpg
Not that much people around.
There is a nice looking coffee bar at the harbour.
The place to go for me now.
Well, it feels somewhat special, relaxing in the bar,
attended by a young girl with a leather jacket, a number of ear, mouth, nose or I don´t know otherwise where it´s possible to fit in a ring, surrounded by heavy metall music not that long thereafter.
Well, it´s Finland isn´t it?.
That´s finally the sign to go back for a view to the hotels Karaoke Bar, yes, with music, but no, without anyone around beside the barkeeper!.
S. is faster than me now: "I´am entertained with the Kossu and crawfish combo. What about you?".
"Well, S., a real nice experience on Finncomm and sure, I should go to bed now after this funny evening in town with all the nice girls around".
No response, not that S. got a little bit envy by now!.
More to come tomorrow!.

AB works ontime and with a admissible fare.
Blue 1 with the special plane type sure a plus
and catching Finncomm on these domestic ride, sure ok for me.
Well, Kemi is definitely not the touristic hot spot, but also I don´t found the better end of Finland here. This is somewhere else, at least from my impression.

Riding homebound tomorrow, four legs to go on three different airlines, online in a couple of days.

Nähdään, comments welcome, FLIEGER67 or
"Markus Klaus Felger", that´s the way Facebook knows me.

Hi Markus,

interesting first part of your series. I definitely prefer the Finncomm colors over the cheap-looking flybe livery. Btw - do you also count your business flights - or just the leisure flights?

Hallo Markus,

Great to have your little Finnish trippy up here, well at least the first part of it!

Too bad I was in Italy by the time you did this, otherwise I could've joined you and shown you some real Kemi (BTW why didn't you go to Tornio, you could've performed the novelty of crossing the Finnish - Swedish border on foot and it's a bit nicer city as well?).

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Hyvää päivää, dear readers,

No päivää päivää, arvoisa matkaraportoija! Voisit kyllä valita noi Suomen kohteesi vähän paremmin, Kemissä nyt ei oikeasti ole paljon kehumista.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
"Sure there are. What about eight legs during two days, eight different plane types scheduled on six airlines.

Nice itinerary, sounds like something I've done once or twice.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
But thanx to Mr.S. there is also another way to go for MUC. Not that it is a standard routing and also not that this example is bookable on the airlines website, sure nothing for the standard pax to fly from STR to MUC via Berlin!.

Hey, that DEFINITELY sounds like something I've done once or twice.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
"Well, with your final place to stay in mind, I´ve ordered a bottle of Kossu, that´s the clear stuff to entertain the finnish people all year round and Altia confirmed, it´s on the way to my office.

I think you should refer to it with its official name "Koskenkorva", sounds funny having a foreigner calling it with that affectionate nickname. And besides Finlandia Vodka is so much better.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Aside that, we´re in the middle of the crawfish season, so this is also on delivery".

Ahh, had a fun crawfish company party a month ago. So nice.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Thin hard fabric seats, the cabin is clean so far.

Hmm, I've yet to fly an AB plane that has these TUIfly seats. They look so nice and different.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Service is a "Laugenstange" and free drinks, not my choice this early morning time.

Ahh, Laugenstage - so delicious!

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
See you in June, if anyone is interested

Yes, definitely! I'll probably fly in with some of the companies you have featured on this trip...

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Interesting planes on the apron

Nice to see a BT 737 there!

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
The exclusive waiting room for silver and gold card holders, no lounge for me here. Now, that´s what I call exclusive, a couple of seaters on the upper level

Interesting, haven't seen this before. Quite lame actually - I guess there's nobody controlling who can sit there or not?

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
The next 737-800 safety card, shrinking the plane types around this trip to 7 by now

Bugger.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
And leaving from the LH terminal, that´s by all means the Senator lounge as the next place to go

Ahh, was there just the day before yesterday...

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Goodlooking seaters

...and that's exactly the place where me & Gab sat!

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
The 717, three legs only in the log by now and some 150 flights ago since the last one.

Heh, I have a feeling my log will soon be full of these T-tails.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
OH-BLJ, "Sateen helmi/Pearl mist" started it´s career with Olympic Aviation back at 26.01.2001.

Ahh, the one with the dirty registration!

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
No flightlevel info, routing is via PRG and GDN.

Just like my flight home from MUC on Monday!

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Finnair and Flybe decided after a couple of weeks with rumours up and down that they launch a joint venture to operate domestic and regional flights. Finnair´s part are the activities of Finncomm and Flybe make an allowance with it´s operational spirit, to say it in a positive way.

Nice timing actually with this report - the FlyBE.fi operation will be launched in exactly four days, with me of course attending one of the inaugural flights, together with two other guys from here. Should be fun!

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
This is also leg no. 700 since I count it en detail some years ago.

Congratulations, I just passed 1100.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Ok, in reality it´s a small city close to the swedish border at the gulf of Botnia.

Well well well, as I said and thus influenced your report title quite a lot - it is affectionally known as the "arsehole of Finland".

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
The AT72 is on schedule. OH-ATM looks like this way.

You certainly are lucky, this is now the second latest delivery, both of which are missing from my log.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
And the inflight magazin

There wasn't a copy of FC's own mag?

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Dark blue leather seats, perfectly clean but somewhat low legroom. 18D, the last row window and two seats for me.

As stated on the safety card this bird, along with the newer examples in the fleet have 72 seats. The older ones have one row less, 68 seats which makes the seat pitch a bit better. It is also better on the -42s.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
There is one word only to say about the business in the area: Pulp.
It´s the basic product for all paperworks

Yes, and stinks. Big time.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
My large room

Ahh, reminds me of so many old style hotels I've stayed in around the country... Kinda nice actually, in that retro way, just hoping you didn't pay too much for it.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
The boat harbour with one of the pulp factories in the background.

You know in the wintertime you can get cruises on an icebreaker here!

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
attended by a young girl with a leather jacket, a number of ear, mouth, nose or I don´t know otherwise where it´s possible to fit in a ring, surrounded by heavy metall music not that long thereafter.

Sounds like my kind of place!

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
That´s finally the sign to go back for a view to the hotels Karaoke Bar, yes, with music, but no, without anyone around beside the barkeeper!.

So did you give it a go?

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Thread starter):
Well, Kemi is definitely not the touristic hot spot, but also I don´t found the better end of Finland here. This is somewhere else, at least from my impression.

Well, our opinions are quite different on this matter. I guess you never ventured to the main (only) street and saw the office for the Finnish Communist Party right there on the main drag...

I should really get around flying one of those KF 717's. It's not like I have to go someplace exotic or expensive. The cabin sure looks nice in those birds.

Hello Markus,

Finally another report from a trip up north from your hands. You see, you have to go there more often since nearly every time you have these great weather conditions and now as well. I know Finland looks nice and green from above, I had the same experience some months ago. Pretty nice to see another 717 report as well and also Finncomm from a different point of view.

Nice that you got on a 717 and FinnComm that will disappear very soon. FinnComm looks nicen and great to get a person flying them with a different perspectirve.

Never heard of Kossu but Koskenkorva sounds familiar but I'm not in to strong liqor like that at all, not even Absolut Vodka.

I have never been to Kemi or Tornio but I think P. is correct that a visit to Tornio would have been much nicer than all the factories in Kemi.

Hotel in Kemi look more like from the 1970s than 1950s.....

Looking forward to the return report!

Hey, it's not long ago when Finncomm operated the HEL-STR route with the ERJ-145. I flew on the type with them HEL-KEM once. Quite a dirty and worn interior I must say, but still I miss the E145, though the E170 isn't bad either.

"Well, with your final place to stay in mind, I´ve ordered a bottle of Kossu, that´s the clear stuff to entertain the finnish people all year round and Altia confirmed, it´s on the way to my office.

Service airberlin AB 6526 operated by TuiFly

Airberlin (or Air Berlin or how you spell it?) always keep amazing me with their "subsidaries". Last summer I took advantage for their 29 EUR sale and booked HEL-TXL-HEL for 58 EUR. On the outbound leg I flew a 737-800 "operated y TuiFly" and on the way back it was a 737-700 "operated by Germania". I just don't understand the idea - aren't they all part of mainline airberlin now?

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Reply 1):
We know, that this is necessary with OLCI. No success on the phone by the airlines call center, real bad service from AB here. It is only possible to check in at the desks with a booking not done via the AB website itself.
What a joke. Mail contact with Ebookers cleared the situation. They send me the reservation code.

That's ridiculous. I had a similar situation on Austrian Airlines, and a call to their call center didn't help at first as they didn't understand what I was after but after some 15 minutes I got the reservation code and a real friendly apology.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Reply 1):
See you in June, if anyone is interested

Sure, I hope to be able to do that, but we'll see.

Touchdown on the 4000 meters 26R, 10.20 am, short ahead to schedule, 18 degrees, cloudy but dry.

The 717, three legs only in the log by now and some 150 flights ago since the last one.

Well, the 717 is sure my most travelled aircraft this year, and yet I just want more!

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Reply 2):
OH-BLJ, "Sateen helmi/Pearl mist"

A familiar one for me, two rides already logged with her, RVN-HEL and HEL-OUL.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Reply 2):
No free service here.

I thought coffee, tea and cold drinks were free?

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Reply 2):
15F, three for me and generous legroom here. The load is 70 %

Sorry to see the HEL-MUC route having ended for KF, also with that acceptable load in the middle of the week.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Reply 2):
No, I don´t want to go to Helsingfors

Why?

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Reply 2):
Finnair and Flybe decided after a couple of weeks with rumours up and down that they launch a joint venture to operate domestic and regional flights. Finnair´s part are the activities of Finncomm and Flybe make an allowance with it´s operational spirit, to say it in a positive way.

That's pretty much everything positive in the whole deal. Also as Finncomm has established quite a good, modern and reliable brand here in Finland I think they should've kept the brand and just changed the owner of the company. But Flybe wants publicity and I understand them.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Reply 2):
And why Kemi?. Well, this large city with touristic activities all around the clock. Hustling and bustling with so much offers that you don´t know what to do first, is still a new place to me and the schedule is convenient.

I guess you could also put it that way...

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Reply 2):
Cabin crew is 2 young, good looking and really nice female FA´s.

Yes, that's pretty much the standard on FC! Hope they won't change because of Flybe takeover.
Quoting FLIEGER67 (Reply 2):
Convenient and for free

..but to end very soon.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Reply 2):
There is simply no public transport connection between the airport and the city of Kemi, where I am going to stay the night.

Yes, that's such a shame and one of the reasons why I avoid picking Kemi as destination for my flight when I travel to Lapland - even OUL is better despite the 2h + train journey up to the North.
If the weather is good I guess one that is familiar with the surroundings could walk to Kemi, otherwise it would be a preordered taxi.

Quoting FLIEGER67 (Reply 2):
Well, it´s Finland isn´t it?.

Markus, I'm glad you enjoyed your visit to Kemi, but to see what Lapland really stands for, well, you have to continue exploring!   I'll throw in some shots I've taken and that represent what I think Lapland is:

Hola Markus!

Great TR, very enjoyable read and interesting to follow you up North.

I am glad you got to fly the B717, a rarity nowadays down here since JK got rid of them and now they fly on these Blue1 beautiful colors. I flew one back on my way to BCN after our meeting in PMI.

As usual pictures are a really added bonus to the great report.

The hotel and the comments are a real push back in time, it has a very basic look as compared to nowadays but it looks comfortable and practical.

Looking forward to reading the return trip.

Salut!

Roger

Hi Markus.

Well you are up early as always again, your style now.

Looks like a good amount of flying for that day to keep you occupied. Really impressive look to the SEN lounge and I agree on the nice style of the chairs, very modern and clean style.

Nice to see you logging more 717 action.

Finncomm looks good and great that you log such a new frame.

Glad you sounded to have a relaxing night in Kemi.

Cheers, Lee.

Thank you and lucky me with the weather, I know.

Quoting sultanils (Reply 15):

Now I hear you talking again!

That´s the way to go isn´t it?.

Quoting sultanils (Reply 15):

Tell me about it: the best way is the long way!

Definitely.

Quoting sultanils (Reply 15):

At least someone who took the situation ‘seriously’

Good point.

Quoting sultanils (Reply 15):

That’s quite some money being parked there, business meeting maybe?

Audi advertissements all around, so it seems more a biz event.

Quoting sultanils (Reply 15):

Only leg n°4

I need more.

Quoting sultanils (Reply 15):

Hmm, don’t they normally give tea, coffee & water for free?

Good point, doesn´t noticed it.

Quoting sultanils (Reply 15):

I recognize that scene: approaching into HEL, right?

Sure it is.

Quoting sultanils (Reply 15):

To say the least!

Lucky me, I know.

Quoting sultanils (Reply 15):

How retro indeed, as if time stood still there.

So it feels like.

I'm a bit sad that I never had the chance to fly FC.   Well now I have the chance to try Flybe instead as they are starting new routes from Bromma (BMA)

Interesting to follow all that new routes by FC. Mabye something also to follow for us.

Nice that you got on a 717 and FinnComm that will disappear very soon. FinnComm looks nicen and great to get a person flying them with a different perspectirve.

Sure my intention here, definitely.

Never heard of Kossu but Koskenkorva sounds familiar but I'm not in to strong liqor like that at all, not even Absolut Vodka.

Kossu and Koskenkorva is for sure the same.

Quoting The777Man (Reply 17):

I have never been to Kemi or Tornio but I think P. is correct that a visit to Tornio would have been much nicer than all the factories in Kemi.

Good point, next time I may ask in advance.

And definitely not from the 2010's!.
