Well it was time to get away for the day, a few buddies of mine decided to head to chicago for a little fun.Our main goal was to fly out to see the chicago cubs play the st.louis cardinals.

the flight left colorado springs on-time,with some worries for denvers weather was at half mile visibility.
this was a prop and most know that props cant fly through freezing drizzle or fog.the clouds broke and we were on our way.with a lady in the seat in front of us taking full advantage of her barf bag we made it to denver with minor problems.

This flight went off without a hitch, extremely awesome flight,i was seated in 9c an exit row.the flight was full of sleepy eyed people and the sounds of a childs laughter.we came into chicago with no problems, arriving at the gate early.we held out for a few minutes waiting for our occupied gate to clear.into the terminal and to the rental car check-in we went.keep in mind for those who have done this before and those who have never, you dont need to rent a car.you can take the "L" to harlem and the city bus the rest of the way.
we arrived at the friendly confines of wrigley field with smiles ear to ear.we had taken a friend of our who had never been to wrigley field,so a first time trip to THIS ballpark was well worth the wait.we had box seats 7 rows up from the cubs dugout sec 109.
The game went along very slow, jaun cruz pitched for the cubs.cruz did a terrable job,imo he wont be with the cubs much longer he is 0-5.into the third inning and the cubs down 0-1. a man on first and who trots to the plate?SLAMMIN SAMMY SOSA. He takes two strikes and maybe a ball................. crack he belts a two run homerun.now the trip was worth it,into the 5th inning we went(the game went so slow)we decided it was time to head back to O'HARE to catch our flight.

Once through security we headed for gate C-29 and there stood in front of the huge glass window,a UNITED AIRLINES 777. after a brief wait in the boarding area i got my seat.i sat in 12E, i got business class on the 777.i was as giddy as a school girl(only joking) walking down the jet way.i took my seat and had a very good time on this flight. the flight attendants were very nice and the meal was wonderful. i havent had a meal like that in such a long time.airline food really isnt worth the time but this a chicken dish that makes my mouth water thinking of it.the service was good, the plane was awesome, and the seat rocked.

as we checked the departure screens we saw that our flight 483 was not going to leave at 7:30pm but 8:45p so we were pretty bummed out.we saw there was a 6:30pm flt that was running late,we ran to the gate and the agent said no more passengers the flight has to go.we said that there is still a lady over at screening can we still make it.he wasnt a jerk agent with an attitude.if i had his name i would tell you, what a class act.we printed our boarding passes and sent us down the jetway.he helped us get home a little earlier,vs waiting in DIA for the next plane.
overall here is how i would rank my trip.
* poor ** good *** wothwhile **** would do it again in a heartbeat.

Glad you are a Cub's fan and glad you enjoyed your time here in the Windy City.
By the way, the next time you want to catch a game out at Wrigley from the airport you don't necessarily have to take the Harlem bus (and I assume connect to the Addison bus) to the ballpark. You can just stay on the Blue Line and take it all the way downtown and then switch to the Red Line (free transfer) going north which will take you right behind Wrigley Field at the Addison stop. Just for future reference. Or if you'd like you can email me and I can give you more specific directions.
Anyway, nice trip report!
Its better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air than be in the air wishing you were on the ground. Fly safe!

You have succeeded where my wife and I failed about a couple of years ago. We bought tickets online to go to Wrigley Field on a day trip, but we were rained out. Thankfully, we did not try to fly there, because the game was cancelled. Judging from your report, it must have been a nice experience to visit that stadium. Maybe that day will come. Nice report!
