First of all, sorry for no pictures!

Booking: My friend and I wanted to go spotting in AMS for the day, and last oct we booked a day return trip. The Aer Lingus website is simple and quick. We settled for thursday the 16th of feb. Flying out early morning and returning at night time. Recently, EI changed the way they display the pricing online. The fare is now combined with the taxed and charges, unlike before.

Pricing: Fare: €0.00
Taxes + Charges: €73.78
Handling Free: €12 (Mastercard)
Total: €85.78

EI 840 to Amsterdam.
The Aer Lingus Retro Jet A320 was based at Cork at the time. I was really hoping that it would be operating our flight, but unfortunatly it was doing LHR all day

The terminal was pretty empty when we arrived at 4.20am. EI 840 is the very first flight to depart ORK at 06.10 every morning. I didn't check in online so went straight to the checkin desk and got handed my outbound boarding pass and the inbound boarding as we were returning that night. I was assigned seat 07A out and 13C back.

As I was half dead from being up at that awful hour, my first stop was the ''Food Market'' restauraunt upstairs for the a creamy Latte. There were no secuirity queues so it was very quick.

Boarding was called at 05.40. Proceded to todays aircraft EI-DEO. I was welcomed by the most lively, friendly cabin crew i've ever seen on Aer Lingus. Greeting us by name as they inspect the boarding pass. There was a good atmosphere onboard and boarding was done quick. A lot of business people on the flight. We departed runway 35 5 minutes late.

I was eager to see the new ''skydeli''. EI recently remodeld the menu. They offer a BOB on short haul. Click here to see! http://www.aerlingus.com/travelinfor...mealservice/short-haulmealservice/
There are some nice new additions such as Granold, Fresh Fruit Salad, Meatballs and Pasta, Greek Salad and lots more!

7 mins after takeoff the crew were readying the trolley in the front galley. I was surprised to see, that from about rows 1-7, the crew walked around and took orders for BOB by hand. This was a nice touch. But the trolley emerged later on as it got busyier! I didn't buy anything this time. The flight deck kept us informed during the flight which was nice. The sky shopping came throught later and so on.

Landed into a cool AMS, a few mins early. It took about 7 mins to reach the gate. We bid a farewell to the crew, and left to do some spotting. Heres a cool egyptair landings we saw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQFFg01gxCU

Watch out for my detailed TR with photos and videos next week, which Ill be doing on ORK LHR ORK.
